Redcafe Future Stars

I'd add Ibrahima Drame to the list. Absolutely outstanding in this years Milk Cup including a hat trick in the final.

Never! It's the sole purpose of it to display peoples rights and wrongs :smirk:

Hmph, thought I'd have gone for somebody a bit more interesting or risky than Scott Sinclair.

Ok so it's been a year. I'm too lazy at the moment to see how things are looking so far. Anyone spot on? Anyone horribly wrong? What new young'uns have emerged?

Adam Maher
Dongou
Viktor fischer

are three of the better talents out there right now.

Also I called out Suso, Thorpe, Tunnicliffe, Deahli, Rothwell and Barkley. Not looking that good for me.

Ravel's career trajectory is going down :(

Can I get a James McClean please. Top 4 player.

Steven Caulker was one of my picks ... he's come on in leaps and bounds to be a best XI CB for Swansea.

It's early in all their careers, but Irish Legend seems to be the touch of death. 2011-2012 hasn't been the best year for any of those he predicted to flop. (I guess I shouldn't definitively write all, I have no idea how King and Huddlestone ave faired this year)

All of them can become solid players, and if Balotelli keeps his head down and works hard, however unlikely, he could be a world class forward.

I've been told jack grealish is the best youngster in the country.16 years ol and on the bench for villa v Chelsea on Saturday.
Like look of John swift, Islam feruz an Amin affane at Chelsea.

At Chelsea? even if Chelsea have someone as talented as Messi in their youth academy, i won't be bothered.
He just won't get played ever.

Muwhaha.

To be fair my predictions weren't exactly risky.

Be interesting to see this thread again in 2 years time and if / how things have changed.

Looking at that list, Danny Wilson is a guaranteed flop for me after his time at Liverpool. You could probably call him one already. I'm going to say that Pogba will flop as well due to his greedy nature. That's going to really hold him back in my opinion. John Fleck as well but he's arguably already flopped. Ravel Morrison will flop due to his attitude and off the pitch problems.

I'm going to stick my neck out on Raheem Sterling to be a top player as I've heard a lot of great things about him. That's permitting he keeps his head. I'd say that Sotris Ninis will be a top player as well. I think that Jovetic and Lukaku will both develop into world class strikers, although Lukaku may need more time to develop. Hazard will go on to become one of the best in the world in my opinion.

Not ready to call it in yet, but my (solitary) neck on the line call on Eriksen is still looking good.

I reckon my call that he'll never be good enough to be a star for a team like United is looking good as well.

Jose Baxter and Matty James not looking too great for me, Welbeck and Ramsey not the most risky of shouts but on course.

He strikes me as a very delicate type of player. Play him out of position and he will be diminished quite easily. Move before he has matured enough to get regular games and he will stall.

Needs to be very circumspect about his career path. Needs to be a definite step up, but nevertheless at a club where he will play regularly and in his favourite position as the creative fulcrum.

Don't see him playing for a team like United since they don't really have a position for him (or, if they do, it's occupied by Rooney). But I can see him being a star for a club of similar stature in 5 years or so. Probably needs a stepping stone club first though.

What happened to Baxter? I really thought when I saw him at 17/18 he looked a very good player.

Apparently rejected a new contract offer, likes going out on the piss, not good enough. He did burst onto the scene and look good but he's not delivered that.

No, which is annoying. Basically spent two years developing a player who isn't ours.
