The team is playing in an unorthodox 352 formation which will get the hold of the midfield through fantastic trio of Cerezo, Schweinsteiger and Modric all capable to attack and defend on the highest level. The defence is impeccable with WC CB's in Tresor and Krol partnered with Azpilicueta who played this role brilliantly for Chelsea during the years. Zambrotta and Sergi as wingbacks will help in both phases of the game. In the defensive phase, everyone will drop back making a classical 532 and extremely hard to break.
Cerezo-Schweinsteiger-Modric will link up with Raymond Kopa who was a manace to deal in his prime partnered with his compatriot King Eric who returns to the central stage. Cantona will be again used here as the focal point of attack in this game, the team will supply him or just use his brilliant hold-up play to bring others into play, both wingbacks and those behind him. We will use his immense heading ability as a massive threat from wingbacks crosses.
As soon as the opponent lose the ball (and he will have massive problems in breaking through the team shape), we will hit him directly on the counter. All players, especially my midfielders are capable of switching the ball to any side of the pitch in a space of a second.
RW: Lato (drifts inside, very fast, good finisher with both head and feet).
LW: Zagallo (more of a traditional winger, hard working - he will be instructed here to keep mostly wide even though he's very capable of covering both the flank and more central positions - useful if Edwards goes on a raid).
CF: Albert (drops down to set up others, false nine of sorts - excellent finisher, consistenly high gpg ratio).
Game starts of a very cagey affair. Jim's wing backs are being pinned back when on the defensive causing Jim to recycle possession for too long to launch any quick counters.
The battle in midfield has been a tense affair, full of tough warriors not giving an inch. It's a game of few chances and Chester breaks first.
Cerezo is caught on the ball by Edwards who shifts it forward to Albert on the edge of the area. He's got runs inside both wingbacks by Zagallo and Lato, but chooses to ignore them both and have a crack himself. It's saved at the near post by a thankful Beara.
The rest of the half plays out much like before, no real big chances as the half time whistle blows.
The second half starts and it's evident both sides have been told to pick up the pace.
Schweinsteiger plays a cute little reverse ball to get Modric travelling through midfield. He dribbles around Gerson and is running at the defence. He slips the ball into Cantona, who dinks it first time into Kopas path. Kopa rifles it first time into the top corner, lovely goal. 1-0 Jim Beam.
With the goal advantage Beams team start to dominate possession. Circulating the ball around the pitch and using their wingbacks. A gap opens up as Cantona drops deeper bringing Hansen with him. Kopa runs diagonally into the space and Barjuan clips it into the gap. He over hits it though and it trickles through to Fillol.
Chester's team are really pushing now and doubling up in attack on the wing backs. And that is where the chance comes from. Lato has the ball and drifts inside bringing Barjuan with him. A reverse ball sets McGrain free and looking to cross. He pulls one back along the ground to the penalty spot and Albert spins on the ball before placing it bottom left. A lovely team goal. 1-1.
Final seconds of the game and both sides are looking to protect what they've got. The whistle blows. Game over. 1-1

Tactics: 4231, with the main idea of being direct and decisive
Maicon and Cole will be huge support down the wings and also stretch the opposition giving more space in the middle.
Souness is a slightly more defensive box to box midfielder of the two with both him and Coluna looking to provide a firm foundation for Diego to roam in the final third and allowing him to grab hold of the game. Due to injuries De Rossi will take his place in the defensive line for this game. A position he isn't unfamiliar with at all, as he filled it at times for Roma and even played in the defensive line for Italy at Euro 2012 (where he excelled in it).
JM Moreno and Del Piero will look to push into the box to support Rush, as well as drop deeper into space to link with Diego as he drives forward.
Physiocrat
Formation 4411 out of possession
Defensive Line Moderate, half-court press
Style Moderate/High risk possession team (possession with a purpose) stretching the play both laterally and vertically.
A full-strength side for the first time. Vogts and Briegel are balanced full-backs (Briegel is the more attacking) who can also tuck in to CB to allow Olsen to surge forward. Forster is the classic stopper to Olsen's libero.
Stielike main role is to protect the back four and harry the opposition. Suarez is the brains of the midfield who has full-freedom to drop deeper or to move into the AM position when Olsen moves into midfield. Figo is the playmaking winger whereas Finney is the goalscoring winger (Finney especially have space when Baggio drops into a classic 10 position on the ball)
Up front is possibly Italy's strike duo. Baggio as an AM without the ball and SS with it, who has space to create and drift where he pleases but also close enough to goal to replicate his better than 1 in 2 record with Juve in the early 90s. Riva will be in his element with aerial and through balls - he should fill his boots.
Advantage for Skizzo
Overall setup does allow both attacking fullbacks more freedom to overload the flank - Coluna with his strong physical build and ability in keeping the ball, and Souness' tenacious play
Maradona will cause problem to Stielike and defenders, who will create space for other attacking teammates to exploit
Advantage for Physiocrat
While De Rossi can do a job at CB, it is not his ideal position, so certain advantage should be given to Riva
Miramontes having more space to orchestrate midfield, with Coluna as his direct opposition instead of Souness (although Coluna has good defensive position)
Ability of Vogts and Briegel to tuck in, is a good foil against playmaking forwards with the likes of Del Piero and Moreno
My suspicion is mainly an underrating of Suarez defensive abilities. The more muscular Coluna and Souness > Suarez and Stielike. On a related note an underappreciation of what Baggio can do out of possession too. Whenever I show a graphic like I do some posters immediately think 3 vs 2 in midfield - 3 must win.
This game should be a tough one, although after last game I have to seriously improve my prediction skills. Individually, there's not much difference between the teams — Müller gives him an edge offensively, Moore gives me an edge defensively; but I feel that my team is working better as a unit.
Regarding the changes — Schnellinger moves centrally. He has an impeccable record against Müller — in 1968 AC Milan faced Bayern in the CWC semi-final and Schnellinger led defence (he played centrally, not on the left) kept 2 clean sheets against the fearsome striker.
Panucci, the ultimate squad option, plays on the left. It's not a coincidence that he had played for Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter and Roma — it's hard to play a better substitute who is equally capable of performing pretty much every possible defensive role. Here, he plays as a balanced left fullback. The situation strangely resembles the 1994 CL final; Milan had lost Baresi and Costacurta, I have lost Cambpell, Perfumo and Demyanenko. Panucci started at left back when Capello's Milan trashed Cruyff's Barca 4:0, and hardly allowed poor Stoichkov (Ballon d'Or winner that year) to do anything. He'll do the same here.
Isotope
General tactic is midfield pressing and two forwards occupying opponents defense.
With Davids, Ballack, and Sammer in midfield, the pressing system can be applied to cut off supply to the opponent front line. More than just hasslers, Ballack and Sammer are creative players to supply the attack and capable of scoring a goal or two.
On attack, the opponent lost of Perfumo allows Ballon d'Or winners Gerd Muller and Kempes to tie down opponents centerbacks and fullbacks. Thus preventing their fullbacks to venture further forward. G. Hagi with his free role, will operate from center, left, or right to open up their defense, thus preventing opponent to manmarking him.
GOAT centerbacks and fullbacks are guarding one of the best Goalkeeper in Sepp Maier.
1. Both teams are not ideal width wise on one side of the pitch (Panucci/Rivellino and Ballack/Bergomi flanks). From memory, Panucci was attacking on the right and not so much from the left.
2. I don't particularly like the Schnellinger-Moore pairing. Both too similar in my eyes. Would have preferred an aggressive stopper to balance it out.
3. Rivellino will be key in balancing the midfield equation (4 vs 3) and here's where a proper LWB would have been awesome.
4. Schnellinger had a good record against Muller by the looks of it and I cant think of a better player than Ruggeri to handle Seeler
5. The MotM performance comes from Kempes for me. Him peeling off deep centrally and left wards just makes it really easy for Isotope to dominate the midfield.
Moore and Schnellinger are similar and they lack an aggressive stopper?
Yeah, that'll never work. Imagine something like Schulz - Schnellinger at center back with Schnellinger playing as a stopper... I can't either.
2 points on how Panucci doesn't provide width while the opposition has a diamond with Müller/Ballack on the right and Bergomi at right back!
I have nothing against the result, that's a monstrous team by @Isotope, but I should really stop reading the game descriptions
Thanks, mate. Yours is a monstrous of team, deservedly a Top 2 in the league table.
I came to this (game discriptions) a few games ago. It was a fun and interesting read, but didn't really put my heart on that. The goals have to come somewhere, that's the way I see it.
Without the ball, Koemans screens defence and looks for small, over-rated Belgians to rob the ball off
Four excellent defenders - debut for 'young Charles' (the brilliant defender)
Hardworking midfielders
Kanchelskis stays up (outlet) as does Drogba (obviously).
With the ball, quick transitions, FBs push (Koeman holds to make back 3) and/or quick ball for Kanchelskis
Drogba perfect hold up man and will run CHs ragid and bully them, bringing in runners or making his own chances
Indnyc
The team has settled into a fluid 4-2-1-3 with Charlton driving the team forward and Cannavaro at the back
Aguero and Bratseth come in to replace the injured Ruud and Des Walker
Charlton comes in for Aimar
1. Indnyc, what a team. I love it.
2. BKTWR, interesting. Kroos as LM, Koeman as DM/DLP are all workable but don't inspire confidence.
3. Charlton/Hanegem/Gattuso is just tasty. Koeman is getting fecked if he is expected to run around Bobby all over the place.
4. Lizarazu-Cannavaro-Brathseth-Bossis in a proper 4-2-3-1. How fecking balanced is that.
5. No brainer really, 4-0 win for Indnyc. Bobby Charlton with the best performance of his league campaign so far.
1-0 Rahn (assist Charlton)
2-0 Aguero (assist Charlton)
3-0 Rahn (assist Charlton)
4-0 Charlton (penalty kick, Hazard brought down in the box)
Mentality / Control - Control the match, but be wary of counter attacks.
Team Shape / Very Fluid - With this approach, all players are expected to contribute to all phases of play within a very fluid system.
The team will be encouraged to play free-flowing football with players allowed high levels of creative freedom.
Tempo / Normal - Your players will adapt a balanced tempo throughout the match, increasing it when necessary and slowing things down in appropriate situations.
Width - Wide instructs the team to stretch the play even wider and use the full extremes of the pitch to their advantage.
Defence
Defensive Line / Normal - Players will adopt a balanced approach to their defensive line according to the match situation. They will push higher when needed and will be willing to drop deeper should it be required.
Closing Down / More - More instructs players to actively engage the opponent in possession in a bid to reduce the time they have on the ball and ultimately to win it back from them as quickly as possible.
Prevent Short GK Distribution instructs forwards to press the opposition defence to try to prevent the goalkeeper building from the back. This should force the goalkeeper to play long or take big risks to distribute short.
Use Tighter Marking will ask players to adopt a marking scheme in defensive situations where players are encouraged to stick particularly close to their assigned opponent in order to prevent them attacking the ball.
Build-Up
Play Out Of Defence encourages defenders to pass their way out of the back rather than clear the ball long.
Pass Into Space instructs players to look to make passes into open spaces.
Passing Directness / Mixed - Players will pick and choose when to utilise a more direct approach depending on the overall team instructions in an attempt to balance their game within the structure of the team.
Retain Possession instructs players to priorities hold of the ball.
Be More Expressive will allow more creative players the freedom to play the game with additional vision and flair outside of the confines of a team's tactical setup.
Attack
Final Third / Look For Overlap - instructs players to hold onto the ball and look for an overlapping player in support, most likely a marauding full-back.
Work Ball Into Box instructs players to work hard for their opening, remaining patient and not forcing the issue but rather retaining the ball until the breakthrough occurs.
Whipped Crosses will instruct players to deliver balls into the box with pace, swerve and dip in order to make it as hard as possible for defenders to deal with them.
Stobzilla
A slight deviation from what is normally expected. The biggest difference being that we now operate with a back 4. Ramos is still afforded the opportunity to move forward, but not in a way that negates his defensive responsibility. More like an Ivanovic at Chelsea, Wes Brown at United in the latter part of the 00's which provided a balance to the more attacking left back.
Seedorf provides his usual midfield running and joining the attack, Bremner is more reserved and holding position which can then account for Alaba charging on. John Terry spent a career covering for Ashley Cole, defending his own space as well as any left is in his make up.
Djalminha will be encouraged to pull out to the right hand side and find pockets of space that might not be immediately occupied by the cutting in Claudio Lopez or more reserved Ramos. Kubala will be encouraged to cut in off of his wing and provide the finishing touches, linking with the Brazilian playmaker all the time.
Advantage for MJJ
Very solid 3-man defense featuring great defensive positioning, mentality and physical attributes. Looks to be able to cope opposition forwards well
While Djalminha is a creative force to be reckon with, he is facing one of the greatest defensive midfielder of all time - Obdulio Varela
Overall defensive setup would allow Brehme and Jorginho to have more space to roam forward and provide width
Two world-class midfielders Didi and Mazzola - can see them linking well and looking to control possession in midfield
Henry and Weah - not only deadly in finishing, but also capable of bringing other attacking teammates into play
Advantage for Stobzilla
Very well-balanced midfield trio: Busquets orchestrating the game from deep, Seedorf with his attacking qualities and Bremner adding that needed aggression on the pitch
The presense of Baresi gives a massive boost in defense and would defuse any attacking threat coming along the way
Adding Ramos as RB-RCB is a good foil against Henry
