Gaming Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia)

Some Sarni classics in this one.

Yeah they released three games between 2001-2004, why can’t they do it now? Damn GTA online!

Maybe because the scope of games and detail put into them has risen since 2001-2004.

They can’t make a game in three years and just happy to sit on their cash apparently with about 1500 staff just probably playing table tennis. I just don’t understand it too Sarni. They need to follow the Ubisoft example. Release generic open world games every year with a different story.

If Rockstar weren’t so lazy and selfish, we would be on GTA 8 by now.

Classics, eh. Instead of searching those posts you could have actually read what I wrote just above this one because that’s exactly the same thing that I was saying there and am saying here.

Five years without a game for the new generation was and still is disappointing for me.

I was moaning the fact that they did not release a new game for the new generation during 5 years of its existence because they had been focused on milking GTA V, that’s it. It was definitely a factor because without the money brought by online mode and its longevity they wouldn’t be able to not produce a game in five years.

The gameplay trailer does not change that, I am still disappointed that we will only get 1 or maximum 2 Rockstar games during this entire generation, mainly because I enjoy their games a lot and miss the days when they were productive enough to bring several games during console’s lifespan.

I never moaned about gameplay in any of their games and never expected it to be anything less than brilliant when it eventually comes out which you were implying.
Creating such massive sandbox games like GTA takes time, it's not like COD where you can release a reskinned version every year. Also, all Rockstar's games are fully playable on the release unlike many others where you need to wait 10 patches to fix bugs.

In 2001-2004 open world games were rare. Rockstar could reuse the same engine for those games.

In 2018 nearly every game is open world. Rockstar can’t just release another generic game. It needs to be different from the rest. That takes time. They build their open world games from the ground up unlike Ubisoft, who basically reskin every AC or Far Cry hence why they can release them faster.

Five years is disappointing? No. It would be disappointing after five years if the game turns out to be terrible. If the game is great, will you still moan about five years?

Like I told you Rockstar are not the company for you if you want a game every two years.

I am aware of that. Also, I think GTA V could have been a full new generation game instead of split between two generations but I understand why they chose to make it this way, the user base for PS3 and 360 was huge.

I wish they made a story DLC for it like they had done for 4.

Why does it matter if GTA V was for both generations? It was a great game. I presume you bought it on both.

This game looks amazing. Pretty sad that it probably again won't come out on PC, or did they change their stance in that regard?

They haven’t even released the first one on PC, I don’t think there is a big chance of the second one getting a release.

Yeah I know that's why I asked if they maybe changed their stance on PC releases but I'm not really holding my breath either. Truth is though, no matter how much I like the look of a game I'm not getting a console for that. Main reason being I don't have a good TV on which I could actually properly enjoy playing on console.

Games take longer to make now and are more expensive than ever. I don't really blame Rockstar for taking their time, especially over a massive one. Most of the best studios take 3-5 years between games now (Naughty Dog, CDPR, Santa Monica) and end of releasing some of the best games of their generation.

I think I'm going to be buying only one game from now until next Feb. Sorry Destiny: Forsaken...RDR all the way.
Me too. Already bought God of War and Horizon last month. It's between FIFA and RDR for me. I think I'll have to go for FIFA next month as it's multiplayer and wait for the Christmas offers to get RDR. The two other titles I'm looking at, Battlefield 5 and Spiderman, will have to wait.

They brought GTA V to PC, so you never know.
They had all GTA games on PC though. They did not bring RDR to PC, it would be weird to bring the second one, which has a story that is connected with the first installment apparently, without enabling customers to play the first one.

Then again RDR came out on previous generation so those are also two different systems from the current gen.

I was hoping they could bring GTA5 and RDR to Switch though.

Looks incredible! They really seem to have nailed the small details that really make it feel alive - and the way the horses move looks incredible!

Will def be preordering this one and probably going for the ultimate edition - at least you know you are sure to get your money's worth!

Gameplay looks brilliant. Never played the first one. Will definitely give this a try.

Just finished God of War, this'll be the next big blockbuster just in time

Seems similar to having to work out at the gym in San Andreas to me. I'm all for intricate detailing in the environment with the NPC's, animals, nature etc. but that seems a bit detailed for the sake of being detailed.

I loved that part of it. As a gym rat myself, I was well into the daily grind of working out and slamming in that post-workout burger on GTA:SA

How long do we think until the PC version lands? I think they're being intentionally quiet to maximise profits.

It's annoying that I'll have to wait.

They waited over a year with GTAV because they knew after that amount of time people who bought the console version would probably buy it too. They'll probably do the same with this, and release the online around the same time.

Have they said the online won’t be launching with the game?

I know they released online for GTA after the game launched, but that was only a month after.

They need to bring something new to towns/locations in my opinion. Really take them to the next level. It's all well and good showing us pictures of these places, but if it's just another case of turning up to a slightly different town with a few barely interactable generic people scattered around the doing the same thing and only a couple of buildings that you can enter it's a bit underwhelming in my opinion.

Rockstar have always been the best at this stuff, but it's time for a major step forward if you ask me. They're in a really good position to do it with Red Dead because the towns don't need to be as vast.

No chance they wait a year to release the online side. It'll be a month tops like with GTA5.

When's the next gameplay vid? I got the impression it was gonna be like the next week after the first one.
