There is no chance they would ever sign someone of Rues quality for any amount of money. Why on earth would he entertain an offer from a club that has had one decent season (and played in Europe) in the last 5? Say Dortmund accepted the transfer offer, what then? I had a look on Rawk when we signed Schweinsteiger and loads of them were saying stuff like "he's past his best, they should of got Schneiderlin", "injury prone, they got the wrong player", and "Schweinsteiger is past it, i would of been much more worried if they got Scneiderlin", now we have got Schneiderling he's "overrated" lol.
You can smell the fear. Deep down they know they don't have a chance of Top 4 and it hurts them.
They must be loving Milners comments (if true) about Messi and how he even he would struggle to replace Gerrard.

No point going on there in pre season. The usual lower down the league striker (Robbie Keane, Andy Carrol, Craig Bellamy...whoever) causes their utter delusion to rise, and when there aren't games to make them realise that they once again aren't even going to make the top 4 never mind win the league, then there is nothing to stop them thinking it.

I think the only way to look at RAWK in the transfer window is this:
If the players they sign were of the quality RAWK make them out to be, they wouldn't be signing for Liverpool.

Villa had to cancel their goal of the month competition twice last season because they didn't score a goal that month. The issue was far bigger than any single player.
Not sure about shite but Villa struggled after a decent start. I think they were in the top 3 after 4 or 5 games then didn't win/score for weeks.
Imagine if they only got one goal in the month and it was an OG which had to win by default. I think that would possibly be worse. (Assuming the OG wasn't a match winner)
Fair enough. For what its worth, I actually rate Benteke. I just always thought he was a bit inconsistent. But like I say, I don't follow Villa week to week so can't say for sure.
