RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

rawks van gaal thread is full of calculations of how many points it takes to win a title, get top four etc, with no hint of irony that's it's been 20 years since they won a title .....

All this talk of how far we are from the league title at this stage when last year at this stage they were 8 or so points off first??? And they are no better than us right now!

Also what's with that jonnowhite fella, says he's a United fan but serious, would rather have Bruce than van gaal, and he's more RAWK than a RAWK mod!! Ifs he's a United fan he's suffering Stockholm syndrome!!

He's a nutter I think. He gave his assessment of the Chelsea game, slating us and the manager as he always does, then a couple of days later when he was slating Rafael in a seperate discussion he admitted he hadn't seen him play this season. Not sure how he's managed that to be honest!

I saw that, funny as a United fan he's not watched or biggest game of the season, but seems to watch hull to know Bruce is doing ok, wonder who hull played this weekend.........oh..

Think he also presents to be in his 60s too, remembers the good old days, yrt has better grasp of youth culture and language and knows how to post smilies, not sure my old man knows what a forum is never mind smilie!!

The only bit I'm not sure of is who is he wumming, this thread, the rawkites by going sympatico , the genuine utd fans on RAWK... Most bizarre

@swooshboy was arguing with JohnnoWhite, who insisted that Patrice Evra was never a good defender.

Johnno, if you are reading this, would you take Glenn, son of John instead?

I was trying to figure out if he was a United fan or not - surely all United fans would realize that, at his best, Evra was one of the best LBs in world football?

There are some people on there who are good to chat with - but I tend to lose interest when people post pointless drivel like:

every time I read one of the mancs posts on this thread I just hear "You got the job on the technicaliteh of a legend who recommended you, you are nothing you are a fuel and you are a waste of time, Goodnight"

:D Most likely JW's partner is a Liverpool fan that also a staunch RAWK member. So that explain his attempt to be involved and accepted there. Just like Oates and Penna. The difference is, JW doesn't have the witty skill of Oates, thus revert to 'lashing out' United of which is very welcome there.
Maybe.

When was @oates being witty? I must have missed it ;)

You're learning Colin, good effort.

He is a United fan, but I guess that he hates United. Don't know how that is possible but it is the truth. The only good words I see him talking about us is during our spell under Sir Matt. He also thinks that all our players are shit (and not only recently).

Probably a Stockholm syndrome. Not surprisingly, he is regarded as a fantastic poster there.

Here's a few gems from that jonnowhite fella...

RVP is embarrassing for his celebration
We should give Steve Bruce 2 years as our manager
Rafael and Evra are bad full backs (Hasn't even watched Rafael this season, although he ripped into our performance against Chelsea?)
Doesn't rate LVG (surprise surprise)
Apparently he played fullback himself so knows all about positioning, lets not question him there
Written off LVG already, yet would give Brucey 2 years?

Cracker

His avatar is Bill Shankly:wenger:

I think you're reading Johnno all wrong, meself. He's as batshit as the rest of them but older & 'wiser' - inasmuch as he wants to put forward some kind of fair play when arguing/considering the enemy. No way is he a Utd supporter. Does he say he is? How potty is that with Big Bill as his avatar/motif or whatever you call it?

Incidentally, I done the far more complex calculations around fixture imbalance between us & them and now reckon they ought to be holding a 3pt lead atm, if all was fair & above board. This would have them finishing on 71pts & us on 68pts carried forward with non deviating equally consistent form between now and the end of the season. This wouldn't achieve much more than both teams squabbling over 5th/6th as it also probably projects Southampton & West Ham into contending for Champions League places. We both need to improve, I'd say we are doing more than they are, atm. But who knows?

It totally evens out this weekend with them away at mid-table Newcastle while we're getting thrashed continuing our revival at City.

Luis does have plenty of unique experiences to talk about.

He used to post on here, didn't he?

He's just a sycophant. Everybody knows somebody like him. "His club" can do no right and his rivals (who aren't all that different to us on the matters he takes issues with) no wrong. He's an absolute embarrassment and that's why they love him there.

Oh well, next Monday he'll be telling us pardew should be our manager (for his fighting spirit) and obertan is a better winger than di Maria (because he's bald of something, and this is important because he had no hair at one stage so knows all about it.) He'll then say we should have been hammered by city who played amazing against us, yet he's still not watch us or di Maria (or Rafael) play this season. Finally he'll sign off calling some little scamp a lad, youth, or even better, son commenting about how much better football was in his day to reaffirm that he's old thus imparts only knowledge.

Re: Louis Van Gaal is still the Manager of Manchester United
« Reply #15910 on: Yesterday at 11:21:12 PM »

serious question, who's significantly improved since moyes went, honestly can't think of anyone, even de gea was better under moyes and van Persie is barely better under someone who was thought who could bring the best out of him

Well, our chief exec, Woodward has improved for a start, Phil Neville now has people listening to him, the list is endless

The Louis van Gaal thread has 399 pages. He's only been United's manager since the middle of May.

The LvG thread on the caf has 9,801 replies - theirs have 15,959. I know that they don't have the newbie system as we do here, but still, that's some serious obsession.

Comparing the Rodgers threads on this forum and on RAWK though would be good to compare. RAWK would have more though.

RAWK is also a more tightly moderated forum in the sense that you'd have numerous Liverpool related threads on here (this one, Liverpool squad, Rodgers, Balloteli x 2, Sterling, etc) whereas all United stuff is in the LVG thread on RAWK.

Fact is that both sets of fans give considerable attention to each other's clubs.

And also a more tightly moderated forum in the sense that half of it is shut down when Liverpool aren't winning

Your last sentence is right. You only have to read the comments which accompany an article on sky, the mail and the telegraph to notice the attention bordering on obsession both clubs have for one another.

Yup, no comment section is free from that kind of thing. It's a small victory to read a fair and balanced post even on the more 'reputable' sites like the Guardian. It's gotten to the point where seasoned commenters moan about their rival teams unprovoked on their own team's match report, which seems bizarre to me.
