RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

Absolutely had it with Balotelli. Cut your losses and get rid of in January, that's it.

Balotelli can't score a goal.He simply can't.He is an awful finisher.
Disgusting.

Balotelli isn't a scapegoat, he's just shit.

Balotelli is absolute shite. How you get £80m and hes the best you can come up with is beyond me.

Thought balotelli was excellent, our finishing poor and the referee needs fecking shooting.

Balotelli is looking a worse buy than Carroll to be honest.

I'm not fit. I had to do ten pressups at work yesterday as a forfeit. I had to carry a suitcase upstairs at half time and it knackered me. And I couldn't do worse than Balotelli.

I don't really know because I wasn't born but there is a lot of downplaying of Liverpool's players from the 70's and 80's considering how much they won domestically and in Europe.
As a team they were excellent, if not particularly easy on the eye.

Liverpool as a whole have rarely had flash players. As far as individual players go, I don't believe many Liverpool players would get in the best ever 1st Division team or PL team. That doesn't mean they were dross, they were obviously good and they played their individual roles to perfection.

Watched a program the other day, about best PL team, and it will no surprise that the team was full or United/Arsenal and a sprinkling of Chelsea. Even Shearer couldn't get in the front line. It was from about 5 years ago. Be interesting if they re-did it, now that City have such a good squad.

As for the period pre-92 I am pretty sure the flash players from United/Spurs and the defensive qualities of say Leeds/Chelsea ..etc would have a big say.

Daglish played in a good team, but did he really do anymore than say Matt Le Tissierr or Glenn Hoddle

Funny how after every bad result they blame the referee. How many penalties were they given last season? Fewer penalties awarded against Liverpool at Anfield than given against United at OT.

Referees fecking love the shite twats. Always have.

Not sure if this goes here, but I imagine those lot made it. Talk about delusion.
I actually know a few liverpool supporting friends that would buy into this shit..

Debatable if he was better than Cantona/Bergkamp

As much as I was a fan of Eric and Dennis, Dalgliesh was better and no doubt in my mind as at one time he was the top player in the world for a while. That he played for Liverpool is neither here nor there!

poor old mario, all about finding someone, anyone, anything to blame, innit

This mighty red has no place at Anfield, if it ever stops me at the airport it's going to have a mighty red pair of bollocks

Saw the vicious twat down the side of the pitch today

Credit to United fans, even though we're currently experiencing some difficult times on the pitch, we haven't turned on Fred The Red like Liverpool fans have against Mighty Red.

For shame, Liverpool fans. For shame.

My knowledge of football is limited, my understanding of the game comes to me in unpredictable and infrequent lucid moments when I think I can see the matrix, and then far too quickly it goes again, lost in a sea of movement and chaos.

However, the words of our glorious leader stick with me. Brendan Rodgers a a fantastic communicator, his knowledge of the game isn't in question I would hope, he speaks beautifully about it, and is always happy to explain his ideas to the press. And the sound bites seem to stick and seem to make perfectly logical sense.

I think Liverpool are deflated after nearly winning it last year. Its hard to resummon that sort of energy in a side, especially after they lose their best player.

Bang on, completely agree.

I'd also add that England's atrociously disappointing World Cup team featured half of Liverpool's outfield team - Johnson, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge - which has also taken it's toll on them psychologically I reckon.

Shows a lack of character from Rodgers IMO. He thought he had it made and it was only a matter of time before they won the league, his biggest mistake was building his team around Saurez then wasting all the money from his sale on average players. He knew he didn’t have a good enough squad to compete in both the Premier league and UCL and panicked. Instead of biding his time and building a squad he decided to rush it, and has well and truly fecked it up.

I think as a team they just aren't that good, player wise. Sterling is a great talent, and Sturridge is up there with him as their best player. Henderson is also a very good midfielder. Other then those 3, and Moreno who is a promising new signing, they're squad and starting 11 is bang average. Suarez suited them perfectly and normally he would've taken them to a top 4 level probably, last season was just a 1 off year where they punch way above their level and it was just a prolonged really good run of form if you will. They had no injuries, no other competitions to worry about and once they got on a run of form, they just went out every week and did the same thing and were as high on confidence as possible. Even this season if they kept Suarez, I highly doubt they would compete for the title, they would just be top 4 competitors. Now that they lost him, they just have a team for 5-7th place pretty much.

Rodgers definitely squandered the Suarez money. He could've bought 3 very good players for the Suarez money plus a bit more, but instead pissed it away by buying a platoon of mediocre scrubs. They will look back at this past window with considerable contempt years from now.

I wonder if he actually could. I really don't think they are a particularly attractive prospect to players of the calibre you are talking about. I would have thought any players in that category would have had better offers in the summer.

Think you're right. Sanchez turned them down, and so did Falcao.

They're in denial about that though, and raging with jealousy we could still attract the likes of Di Maria and Falcao, even with no Champions League. It must sting really badly, to be fair.

(Oops, that reply was to Sied.)

To be fair, we were a little like that for a while in 1992/93. Then Cantona arrived and everything...

Yup, I remember we kept drawing a lot of games and found ourselves around mid-table in November. Then, as you say, Cantona...

Feels like they've done a tottenham.

-Sell their best player.
-Blow 10/20/30m on players here and there to strengthen the overall team.
-Some players just dont perform, due to bad buys or getting used to the BPL.
- Realisation hits that you can't buy 6-7 players and expect them to synergise over night.

The funny thing is, Liverpool came so close to winning that title, and now they look like theyre back at square one. Dont worry, 3-4 more seasons, Sterling will almost win them the title again, Gerrard will slip, and they'll sell Sterling for 40-50mill.

And the roundabout goes on!

Why have they turned against Mighty Red? what has the poor guy done? wonder if they think it's Fergie inside the costume.

All this will be forgotten of course if he raises his game and scores against us. Mind you we don't play them for a while so who knows if he'll be getting in the team by then.

Every time Liverpool limp to another awful week I have to remind everyone of the OP of this legendary thread.

They are worried.

We are Liverpool.

They. ARE. Worried.

Thank you so much for posting this it's given me a right chuckle, this post was a good one too

Once the young players get a taste, we'll be laughing. They've come mighty close to doing it this season. It can only inspire them to do it again but next time, make sure they're the ones lifting the trophy with the winners medals around their necks.

We've got the right manager to keep looking forwards. I don't think the players will slack or not kick on. This is just the start.

Gotta love that optimism.!!

God I love rawk, can brighten up my day no matter how shit my day has been.

When you think about it - all the conditions are ripe for Liverpool to take a significant step backwards, or at a minimum to return to their normal 5-8 position in the table. Suarez gone, Gerrard aging, and a gaggle of mediocre players coming in. Good times ahead.

It really is like last season never existed and they have reverted back to the previous 4 seasons, those home losses vs small sides, goalless draws at home and losses on the bounce.
