RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

RAWK are not happy about Official LFC Twitter after their loss tonight :lol:

Like that RAWKite who lost an argument to himself, Liverpool fans are being trolled by their club's official Twitter! You couldn't make this up. They're the gift that keeps giving.

Who is that Revanchist fella? It strikes me as strange how he can stand posting regularly at that place. I think the caf is generally tolerant of other club's fans but I still see some awkward/hostile exchanges between some of them here and the United ones. Can't imagine what it's like over there. Maybe there are a fair few sensible ones at RAWK who are drowned out by the poem writing, mouth breathing majority.
It's @Revan.

:lol:

An entire word in the English language has become a no-go area for them. They'll have to put a 'Mr Alex Ferguson' type filter in place so no-one can accidentally use it in the forum.

The van Gaal hoofball one particularly struck me, was this excellent football Holland were playing at the World Cup a plan B then because they didn't have a gangly enough striker up front?

No, see, Blind's pass to RVP for that header was 'hoofball' because the pass went more than ten yards. Good football is passing it pointlessly back and forth between Coutinho and Sterling within a five yard area for thirty seconds before giving the ball to Willian and letting him and Torres score a piss-easy counter-attacking goal.

RAWKite:

"It's a great deal for a mid table club. If you can push through these dodgy deals like the chevrolet one, fair play. An inspiration to us all."

It wasn't 'hoofball', but did you really find their football (as a whole) excellent? There were some excellent moments for sure, but I thought they were quite dull and uninspiring a lot of the time.

Not that that means too much for us under Van Gaal or particularly worries me, because we have more creative players in the attacking third than the Netherlands' do in their squad, and hopefully another good midfielder to join the club too.

Not sure we should even respond to that one.

Unless of course, the long pass is made by Stevie Gerrard which of course makes it precise, incisive and genius.

Quote here regarding the total money Adidas are expecting to make from the deal (1.5 Billion). Clearly someone on RAWK knows way more than the Adidas execs and spotted something they hadn't taken into account.

Halve that straight away to cover the sponsorship deal over its lifetime.

Take away manufacturing costs.

Take away distribution costs.

Take away marketing costs.

I think they'll be lucky to come out without losing money if that's all they are estimating the deal comes out at. Obviously that's not the end of the world if they get exposure from it too, they'll just have to hope the losses aren't too much.

Van Gaal is an evil looking bastard. He'll suit them down to the ground. I already hate his face.
He is one ugly motherfecker.

They shifted through the gears really quickly; the season hasn't even started yet, and they've already gone from trying to logically explain why Van Gaal isn't a good manager to full blown playground insults. :lol:

:lol: Wildly successful international corporation outwitted by a scouser on a messageboard.

I liked this exchange:

How much time will he get? If United finish outside the top 4, will he get sacked? Van Gaal is usually a slow starter. Has been at Ajax, Bayern and Barca too i think.

TheRevanchist
Why people insist on this? On Ajax, he won the UEFA cup on his first season. On Barca, he won the league and the Copa Del Rey on the first season. On Bayern he won the league and the DFB Pokal on the first season.

Once they get their teeth into a FACT (aka perception), then they sure do love to run with it!

Right because nobody on here has ever joked about BR looking like a gargoyle.

Well Lopez is 1st choice for Madrid, so he surely shouldn't count either?

Just to be meaninglessly pedantic :nervous:
We'll flip a coin to decide which one should be left out!

Right because nobody on here has ever joked about BR looking like a gargoyle.
None of us at all should give a shit how LvG or BR look as long as they're doing their job! :lol:

I think Sanchez just didn't fancy the burden/humiliation of having to replace Suarez. He could score 20 goals and still be seen as a failure here, pretty much the opposite at Arsenal

Sounds about right to me.

He could have gone there, scored one and assisted two and still been hailed as the new John Barnes provided he remembered to call Liverpool 'the biggest club in England' on twitter before a North-West derby.

I never get this approach, who seriously thinks the relative beauty of a manager or player makes a blind bit of difference. And even if either are as ugly as feck, who cares, I'm certainly not offended that Fergie has a red nose or van gaal (...insert latest scouse wittism). If it's the worst that they can come up with I'm pretty happy, it beats being mocked about or previous managers aversion to training with a football, or preference for mindless crossing etc, you things that actually matter.

Ps. Sorry grinner - not a rant at you, just using your post as reference.

Mignolet
Flanagan Lovren Sakho Moreno
Gerrard
Lallana Henderson
Coutinho Markovic
Sturridge

That's a "mouth watering XI" apparently. Looks like a Europa League team to me, incredibly average. They are so overconfident it's incredible, I can't wait to laugh at them when they finish 6th.

Great myopic post comparing virtues of Liverpool vs spurs for Davies.....

Trying to look at it objectively as possible, it's hard to see why he'd choose Spurs unless he's a complete mercenary or he's pushed into it/we pull out.

Reasons to join Spurs:
-London
-More likely to offer wages he doesn't deserve yet
Reasons to join Liverpool:
-CL football
-one of the most well supported clubs in the world
-bigger club (also leads to getting more sponsorships)
-manager in charge shown he's wanting to build a team with a British core
-manager in charge shown he's willing to play young players
-team played incredible football last season
-Manager native English speaker who's shown to be a great man manager
The only possible doubt I have about Swansea players is how there was a lot of talk last season of serious cliques in the dressing room, although as a young player he's less likely to have been a big part of it.
I'm convinced if we meet what Spurs will offer and he speaks to Rodgers for 20 minutes then he'll be ours
Think this guy is forgetting who is managing spurs now, yup potichino, the guy that built a team with a British core and shown he's willing to play young player and who's team was lauded for playing incredible football last season, so much so that Liverpool are trying to buy half that team this summer!

Davies might look at the spurs defence with some greyest players and great goalkeeper and compare that to the shower at the back for Liverpool...

A collective noun such as 'team' can be singular or plural so are/is can be interchangeable to some extent. For example, it would be acceptable to say 'Manchester United are a team that play in England'. Similarly, the phraseology on the Liverpool poster is acceptable.

In the US, common usage for a team or collective group would be singular. To us, it's just one entity. Since the poster is aimed at an American audience, it would make sense to speak the way we speak. It would also help to have someone with a bit of star power on the poster, but I digress.

Here's a helpful example:

In the US, Liverpool IS delusional. Whereas in England, Liverpool ARE delusional.

The phrase, 'Once shallow doesn't make a summer' comes to mine.'

I am surprised that they are looking at winning the CL, a cup I assume that they feel is rightfully theirs too!

Oh wow the bitterness on there this year is going to be unreal!! I'm nearly looking forward to that more than the football itself:lol:

They just can't come to terms with Adidas paying us 75 a year when they wouldn't pay them 25, 25!!:lol:
They can't take the fact that people are praising our manager.

there's no way we'll have as bad a season as last year and there's no way they'll have as good a season but they'll certainly have the expectations. All these added together are gonna make for a great season in here. :devil:

I don't think there's a more nauseating accommodation than English people using 'American-speak' to please our transatlantic cousins. It certainly doesn't operate the other way.

I is totally fine with it...

"Kopites, RAWKites, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to consider Luis, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their transfers;
So let it be with Luis. The noble Blatter
Hath told you Luis was brutish:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Luis answer'd it.
There, under leave of Blatter and the rest--
For Blatter is an honourable man;
So are they all, FIFA, all honourable men--
Come I to speak in Luis's leaving do.
He was my hero, faithful and just to me:
But Blatter says he was brutish;
And Blatter is an honourable man.
He hath scored many goals here at home
Whose aspirations did these goals fulfil?
Did this in Luis seem ambitious?
When that the ‘Pool have cried, Luis hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Blatter says he was brutish;
And Blatter is an honourable man.
You all did see that on the December 13th
He was presented with the kingly armband…
Which he did return to Agger: was this ambition?
Yet Barcelona says he is ambitious;
And, sure, they are honourable men.
I speak not to disprove what Blatter spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then, to mourn for him?
O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason. Bear with me;
My heart is in the Camp Nou there with Luis,
And I must pause till it come back to me."
