Yes, Fergie is still terrified of the beast that is Liverpool. He does not waste his powers and influence on getting Agüero banned, he goes straight for the real threat.

I did think it was an incredibly harsh ban that should be reduced, particularly compared to other offences. But if Liverpool were to threaten to withdraw Henderson from England duty, I might reconsider that stance...

Well, they have a point: the FA are a joke. The poster who's complaining about McManaman and Agüero getting away with assaults is essentially right and indeed, Defoe only got a yellow card and nothing else for biting Mascherano in 2006.
Thing is, the FA are right to punish Suárez, that is not the problem. The problem is that they so often hide behind the "referee dealt with the matter on the pitch" excuse which is lame and stupid.

I think 10 games is the right ban because it was a bizarrely snide and calculated thing to do - something that Suarez is regularly guilty of. But I can see how it would be annoying for Liverpool fans.

Yep. If you ignore the fact that the transfer window is closed, that there are rules regarding the number of teams you can be registered with in season and that they'd be bringing the game into disrepute by their conduct, that might be the best idea I've ever heard.
