Just had a quick gander and was shocked by the amount of realism in there. A few posts to counter the usual delusion:

We talk about United signing players i.e. Van Persie, but the lesson to take from them is that to build something sustainable requires time and effort. If not time then you need oodles of money like City and Chelsea. United not only have the experience but they are able to top it up with quality players when they need.

It's why we cannot afford to keep changing the manager every year. It puts us further and further behind. Rodgers needs to be given time to build. It may not work out but right now he needs that time. We just have to stomach what comes in between.

Yeah when you consider the spending power of Chelsea and Man City, it's criminal that there was virtually no challenge to Utd this season. Having said that, they took each game at a time, ground out wins and just got on with it.

The number of times we heard our players going on about building on wins and working on consistency; well Utd just go out and do it don't they. Maybe it's the mentality of the players they sign or maybe it's just Fergie, but one things for sure they know the standards they have to reach to play for that club.

The above proves even a shit-load of money, let alone a big reputation, guarantees you nothing. It's about how a club is run from top to bottom.

As for Man Utd Being shit, and only winning because everyone else is shit, I think it's worth remembering they finished 37 points ahead of us last season (nearly a point a game) and they're 33 points ahead of us after 34 games. We can barely see them through a bloody telescope, so if we're going to focus on how shit everyone and everything is, we should bear in mind that this line of thinking really doesn't reflect very well on us, because if they're shit, then we're super duper shit, with a flake on top.

As for them singing about us, rather than singing about winning the league it's worth remembering, that i) they know they've won the league for months now ii) it's 5 out of 7 leagues, so the novelty has probably worn off a little iii) whatever about man city, we're still their major rivals iv) Over the years we've made reference to past victories once or twice so they're going to derive a hell of a lot of pleasure from rubbing it in to us. Oh and v) Our star player, and a massive hate figure for them, publicly disgraced himself and the club the day before by going completely insane and biting someone in front of a tv audience of hundreds of millions.
