Ringing up Barca to ask them if they want to spend 25 million on a dud that a mid-table English side don't want anymore. Foolproof.
Barca buying Skrtel.
...and TWO world class defenders being stupid enough to join Liverpool

If we decide to sell him, we should be able to get 25m provided we court top teams for him and convince them to buy (read: city, chelsea, PSG, Barca) The 25m + additional funds should be enough for us to get 2 world class defenders.
The weird thing is: Why wouldn't Barca just buy these two world class defenders for £25M instead of spunking it all on someone not world class?
I thought Skrtl was half of the best CB pairing in the league? Why would they only ask for £25M?

Kristian Walsh summed it up best for me - When we start putting a good run together, we somehow manage to shoot ourselves in the foot. We need to cut that out and if we do so and spend wisely for next season, I think we could actually challenge for the title. That's what I am actually looking for in the run-in.

Pocchetino's poo chutes,
FA fail to ban Ferdinand over clear red card offence vs Chelsea in FA Cup, in preperation for him being named in England squad.
Ferdinand is named in England squad.
Taggart says its a mistake as he has special fitness regime.
Withdraws from England squad.
And football, in this country, is not corrupt. Not one bit.
They don't have Barcelona DNA.The weird thing is: Why wouldn't Barca just buy these two world class defenders for £25M instead of spunking it all on someone not world class?
We are a mid table side representing a club which has the potential to be represented by a side which is world class. We have the global supporter base and therefore the financial ability to compete long-term (thinking 10-20 year scale now, rather than 1-2 seasons) with Man United.
We have been for years, what we need is a manager to be given a bit of time to change that around instead of sacking everyone at the end of the first bad season (Hodgson apart, he would have taken us down).
I would suggest that at the moment we are probably a mid table side, yes. Just a mid table side however - no.
'We are an inconsistent side that can beat the best but then the next week will lose against an organised but mediocre side (not that the EPL teams are that mediocre). It's been like this for years. We can play good football but there's something missing........a mentality that treats every game the same way with a will to win. It's almost as if at times we feel that the other team will lie down and let us win. Sometimes I think we would do better if we could only play the top 6 teams.'
This made me laugh. Hadn't they not beaten a single side in the top 8 until last week when they beat Spurs?
By Top6, I reckon he means from position 7-12 in the premier league....so they're winning THAT league.
Absolute useless poster; his style of play cons no one into thinking he's a decent writer.
One step at a time Papi, win the 7-12 league this season and mount the title challenge next year!

The man loves us and we should love him for what he gave us and how he spoke about our City and our Club.
He was spot on in his comments about Chelsea, they have proved now, just what a small time club they are with their army of Johnny come lately fans, with their plastic fans and plastic success. No soul, no passion, no heart. Oh how he must miss the Kop, the City, the history, the passion.
Thank you Rafa, for giving us the chance to be great again, for Luis Garcia, for Xabi Alonso, for Istanbul, for being able to Lord it over the Mancs with 5 European cups, for the ghost goal, for putting Mourinho in his place, for the semi final in 2005 against Romans millions, for your support of the justice campaign. for being one of us, for bringing Torres to Anfield, for getting under Fergusons skin, for saying what you want to the shite british press, 2 european Cup finals, so close to the title, chelsea do not deserve you.
Rawkbola Sufferer said:I'd love it if we brought him back for like, £10 million or less, with him forcing the move/begging Chelsea to let him return "home".
How I picture it:
Torres hands in a transfer request, and it becomes known to the public that Torres wants to return to Liverpool. Sources say that he regrets moving and would do anything to return.
We buy Torres for £10 million or less. The fans are 50/50 on it.
Torres writes a deep open letter to the fans, which is published on the official Liverpool website. He goes on to say that he made the biggest mistake of his life, leaving Liverpool and that he's so happy to return home. He tells the supporters that he understands if they can't forgive him instantly, and will give it all he's got to be a Liverpool great once again. He tells the supporters that he never stopped thinking about Liverpool.
Our first PL fixture is against Man United at Old Trafford.
Torres starts after impressing Rodgers in training. He's on the team sheet up front with Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho behind him.
Torres smashes in a hat-trick, gives the five fingers and celebrates wildly with Suarez, Gerrard and co. Smashes his hand on the Liverpool badge repeatedly and holds back the tears as the away fans go wild.
We fall in love with him again. Torres, Suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge rip the feck out of all our opposition and we win the League.
If the title is Everest then we are at base camp right now, and we have the lungs and equipment to make it to the top. Spurs are at Camp 3 with Arsenal, but Spurs don't have the equipment or the lungs to climb any higher than camp 4. Arsenal probably can make it to camp 5. Neither can match our potential or equipment long term. Arsenal could in the past (we still had the potential to reach a theoretical higher summit which they did not, which now exists as the rent boys and City have moved the goalposts). The key will be to make the right decision at board level in three years or so. Is Rodgers going to take us any further, and if not - who is, without that person having to start from base camp again
I give up
