Probably because they would have spent it passing the ball between Reina and Enrique.
the commentators having a go at his "stamp" was laughable though but hardly surprising
What stamp ?
Stepped on Hubochans back after the latter made a slide tackle. Wasn't really a stamp.
The best player in England by a mile.
Deserves to win player of the year but wont get it.
Definitely will be remembered as one of the greats
The 2nd was as good a free kick as i have ever seen moved yards in the air, a phenomenal player
He's the best striker I've ever seen at ours, been following us since 86.
I feel like he's a legend for us already, been watching us for nearly 50 years
been watching us for nearly 50 years
Just got in, and I'm fooking horse.
Balanced opinions on Suarez. YAWN lad.
They seem to be going backward, going forwards.
And always twirling. Twirling, twirling towards freedom.
Armed with the sword of Damascus.
And they claim they never get as much injury-time as us...
We don't.... 3 chuffin minutes last night, goalie must have wasted at least 5....and yes I am bitter and prone to exaggerate mate.
I think you missed the joke...
u needed Fergie time ey Johnny...
That one idiot who says Suarez is the best striker they've had since 86. Where the hell was he when they had Torres? You can be bitter towards him since he moved but still he was simply magnificent for them. I would have an in form Torres any day over an in form Suarez.

Best Liverpool striker since 1986 though? I don't know about that. In my time both Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen stand out, though my memory of them at Liverpool is from childhood so it's difficult to compare really.
Doesn't take much to be a legend at Liverpool does it
Yeah I don't think there's much between Suarez and Torres either way; Torres was more clinical whilst Suarez is more creative. Both are genuinely world class players whilst on form; Torres has turned to shit though with no sign whatsoever he'll come good again; I don't think it's laughable to think of Suarez as being the better player, and he's certainly one of the best players in the Premier League. The difference is Torres was fantastic for one season and a bit, Suarez will perform to a high level over a longer period of time.
And Suarez until recently has been pretty much playing teams on his own at times, Torres had the likes of Gerrard and others playing to a high standard with him.
Was Torres in his prime better, definitely, however his prime didn't last as long as Suarez's will, the latter has still to reach his peak.
I would have an in form Torres too - but when was the last time he was?
It really doesn't, it's sort of an insult to all the great Liverpool players that Suarez gets to be mentioned as a legend.
A season and a bit? You got to be joking. Every time we went up against Liverpool, I was scared because you had Torres and not anyone else.
1st season - 33 goals in 46 appearances.
2nd season - 17 goals in 38 appearances.
3rd season - 22 goals in 32 appearances.
I don't think thats a season and a bit. He was fantastic in the league. It was Europe where you could say he wasn't on par.
Even if you win loads of trophies at United it's rare you'll be considered a legend. Whereas it sounds like Liverpool's 2012 Carling Cup team is in the Hall Of Fame.

I agree. Torres between 07-09 was better than Suarez now IMO.
I know the Liverpool fans are giddy as hell over Suarez, and saying he's the best striker in so many years and all that, but if they really sit and think about it, would they go back to the days when Torres was truly in his pomp there? When they were playing CL football and challenging us for the title?
Plus they don't seem to sing that Suarez song with the same enthusiasm as they did the Torres Bounce.
Their entire team was better then, so of course they would.
Now that they have Sturridge alongside Suarez, and with young Sterling breaking through, Liverpool fans say that they're finally on the right path and that they are on their way back.
If a team with Torres & Gerrard (in their prime), Alonso and Mascherano couldn't win the title, then this team today sure as hell won't. Liverpool may improve slightly and get back into the top 4 at some stage, maybe in the next few seasons, but they won't challenge for the title for a long time IMO.

And also we are not saying we are on the way back.
There is a squad rebuilding process ongoing and clearly that will take some time.
We don't have the quality in depth and that needs to change.
What we are, or might be saying, is that we have some good players but not enough of them.
What? I will have a word and get the fans to bounce when we sing the Suarez song in future.
Dear me.

That's just not entirely true though, is it? Even Rodgers is going on about how you lost the battle but are winning the war - isn't that talk about coming back?
Imo, Rodgers should have pursued a career as a professor in literature; he's all words and very little substance. He could probably also fare quite well in politics as he says what the audience wants to hear, but if you aren't blinded by the specs you are wearing, he's quite easy to call out.
From the fans perspective, at least the majority I talk to, are very aware we are well off the pace and a long way behind. You cannot disguise that.
We have good players but not enough of them.
Brendan says some weird things, I think he is trying to please the owners and fans too much. He knows we cannot challenge at the moment and the squad isn't up to the mark.
At the end of the day the fans will want an end product for all the talk, irrespective of what he says, at the moment he can get away with it...a little but assuming he gets the backing from the owners in the next transfer window the pressure will build if results aren't positive.
Whether any real progress so far has been made is debatable, but the squad needed/needs some serious work and that is far from complete at this moment in time.
Personally it's far too soon to judge as far as the manager is concerned, but everyone I know is realistic and well aware there is a long way to go to catch up.
