RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

Twigg, any reason given for your banning?

I mean, apart from 'being a manc'.

Nope, the Evra issue is obviously quite emotive at the moment, and I knew I run the risk of being banned.

I don't hate a lot of the people on RAWK, they're tribalistic, and often overly protective of their team. However I don't think I could stand idly by whilst they slandered the name of Evra, (some posters are trying to change the word cnut into Evra, as in they post "oh what a fecking Evra) and it got a bit to much for me. I think that there's a lot to be admired when you follow your team and back them as much as they do, but the delusion and anger over the Evra issue was to much to take really. It's a shame as it can be a good forum at times (I have nothing but respect for the way a few of them stood up to the H+G and glad they got rid of them)

At the end of the day I was a Man United fan on a Liverpool forum ,I initially joined to disprove some myth they were peddling, and have tried to do the same there ever since giving a bit of United bias here and there. Guess at some point it does become annoying.

RAWK isn't that a bad forum, relatively speaking (I certainly know of a different LFC board that's a bloody disgrace regarding some of its topics) but so much of the bad stuff about RAWK is so obviously borne of frustration & disappointment. Take the infamous Andy, for instance: most of the time, RAWKites tolerate him & his exaggeration, and disagree with him a great deal; BUT...when things start to go wrong for Liverpool, then RAWKites are far more inclined to take him & his 'theories' seriously...and that's when RAWK becomes unreasonable, farcical.

Kenny's Cracking Up, He's Cracking Up, He's Cracking Up, He's Cracking....

It's also hilarious that after buying Shane Long and having the second lowest spend in the league (ahead of just Everton), Roy Hodgson has gotten West Brom to 9th, and just stopped City scoring for the first time. They gave us a bloody fight as well.

Delighted for him. Was he good enough for Liverpool? no. But it wasn't fair how little support he got, it just made things impossible for him.

Since Hodgson took over at WBA, he's had 30 matches in the league. Won 11 of them. Drew 9. Lost 10

Since that period, Dalglish has won 14, drew 8, and lost 7.

Dalglish has picked up 1.7 points a game with Liverpool

Hodgson 1.4 points a game with West Brom.

Considering the difference in the squads, and the difference in money available to them, it certainly doesn't show a massive gulf in quality between the two clubs.

Now would I want Hodgson at United? No. But I think Liverpool fans were certainly harsher with Roy than they would have been with a lot of other managers. He isn't the greatest ever, but in the few years he's been in the prem with Fulham and WBA he's certainly been shrewd enough and done enough to be given a little bit of respect.

True, they could have given Roy a bit more time - he's known to be able to stabilise a club into a solid mid table outfit - perhaps they should have taken a few years of mid table, europa place fights, before reviewing their war chest and/or managerial options properly, and making better decisions. I think Roy would have led them to mid table last year eventually after the bad start, then lead them to where they are in the league now this season anyway. After all, the season before Roy was appointed they were terrible in the league.

But liverpool fans seem to me like a romantic bunch, living off their success of the 70s and 80s and insisting they're too good for mid table. they refused to accept a transition period on obscurity before slowly rebuilding foundations to make them great again. So what do they do? Urge to owners to sack Roy, urge the owners to splurge - the owners go and spend 100 million, give the fans what they want by appointing legend king kenny, the prodigal son who would bring back the glory days in some sort of braveheart style............

Only to end up at the same position that IMO roy would have brought them anyway. That said, Woy didn't do himself any favours by signing the likes of Konchesky.

To think: is this the same forum I was on the other day when everyone seemed to be consolidated in their plight for Suarez? Us against the World and all that. The contrast reading this thread is jarring. It's turned from us against the World, to Charlie Adam is the worst midfielder in LFC history, Andy Carroll is shit, and Kenny and Comolli haven't a clue about players. Well done. There should be a disclaimer on forums stating the bipolar nature of them at times, and not to get confused in case you think you've ventured into a different forum by accident.
.........

Just remembered about this post that Danny_ posted in the last RAWK thread

Haha, what a joke of a thread! We're actually ecstatic over on RAWK. You beat us with 12 men against 10 today in yet another joke of a game where the ref decided the outcome but we don't care - Kenny is back. The look on Ferguson's face at the end of the game said it all. LOL!

LOL! indeed

Andy Carroll at the Liverpool Hilton tonight. I'll say no more.

They don't learn, do they.

Just had a peak over at their forum. It's not funny when they're seriously analysing their team and its weaknesses. I mean, I'm sure there's the odd classic in there but its lost in extremely long and boring analysis, which consists a mix of fairly accurate criticism (albeit very tamely stated with disclaimers about how much they love Kenny and aren't saying nothing about him really, honest...) and calls for patience and giving some of their young/maligned players time (overly optimistic but nothing more than the understandable bias that you expect from a club's own fans).

It's just not as funny as when they're all excitable and planning their end of season celebrations for when they inevitably overtake United, as their team is so so so much better than ours anyway, and then go on to compare each segment of our sides to prove without question that Liverpool have the far better players in all positions, all for 1/100th of the cost.

It's always around this time that reality hits them though.

I'd agree with that. I'd also add that the way it is run leads to this type of swing in opinion, you have to go with the flow or else you get 'watched' or straight out banned.

The lack of a newbie system leads to them to believe that any realism or a different opinion to theirs is a wum.

Hmm, I have to admit, it almost seems like Liverpool are cursed, the saves and misses this season are hilarious for us. If I was a Liverpool fan, the annoying thing would be they've probably deserved a few more points but it's just not working.

Same as last season. Think of their run late last year. It as all Meireles with the important goals. No Meireles, same team. If you can't put the ball in the net, you don't deserve any points.

Suarez has only score 5 league goals this season....and in total?! 9 goals in 29 games. Can somone explain the hype because something doesn't quite add up.

He certainly has the ability to do things which other players can't. That's basically what it comes down to. Against Fulham he didn't score, but some "moments" were sublime. However his productivity is nowhere near good enough for the hype he's had.

more ponts fecking dropped that liverpool team wouldn't score in a whore house even if jordan was in it fecking useless

Bellamy needs to be starting, drop Downing, and when we are chasing a game use all 3 subs FFS!!!

Downing is useless same wit carroll and adam not good enough to put the crest over there heads

Heeheehee

Did anyone read the interview with Jose Enrique where he said that he should be first choice for Spain simply because he plays for Liverpool?

He said he was surprised that he wasn't called up for matches against England and Costa Rica... not that he should be first choice for Spain... Del Bosque chose Jordi Alba and Nacho Monreal for those friendlies.

“I was a little bit disappointed,” said the 25-year-old. “I think I am at one of the best clubs, not just in England but in the world. For me Liverpool is one of the best three in the world alongside AC Milan and Real Madrid. So I was disappointed. Not to go away with the national team every time, but just to have my chance to see if they like me or not.”

Ah, horrible translation from the Norwegian media then.

Edit: Still.. Liverpool, Real and AC Milan as the 3 best teams in the world?

Just to put that in perspective, guess which United player scored 8 in 28 last season?

That's right - Ji Sung Park. Our most defensive winger is scoring at the same rate as Liverpool's most acclaimed striker. Sky's player of the year apparently. Go figure.

Good lord, when did he escape from the mental house?

Even more damming is that Park at the same age would probably be better for Liverpool then Suarez. United has forced Park to somewhat sacrifice his attacking ability for overall quality, but watch his early United career and he had all the hallmarks of a solid attacking midfielder. Great on the ball with link up play and bundles of energy.

Word is Liverpool are trying to get shut of Carroll. The new Duncan Ferguson has been copying the old one and has gone too far for Dalglish.

Since Suarez moved to Liverpool, he contributed to 23 goals in 34 games (scoring 12, assisting 11 with 2776 minutes on the pitch) which adequates to around 121 minutes per goal/assist.
During the same time frame Park has played in 25 games (1704 minutes), contributing to 12 goals (5 goals, 7 assists) or a goal/assist all 142 minutes.
Despite being probably only the sixth or seventh most important attacking player in our squad...

There is no doubt Suarez is a skillful player who creates loads of chances of himself and his teammates, but he still lacks the quality to finish them off. His finishing might improve over time, but I wouldn't count on it.

The problem with this is that Park is not pivot in the side. Even Rooney learned that sacrifice is made when somebody else is better. Also Park's a fair bit older and his talent is slowly starting to diminish. He was much like Suarez was at the same age. He just went to a far bigger club.

From what I've seen of Suarez, I think he's clearly better than Park. I'm sure Suarez would be a regular starter for us and would score 20+ playing with world class players like Rooney and Nani...

And who would you play him over?

I hope one day I can post on RAWK again, I still want to bump the "Underestimating Arsenal" thread

After I posted that Arsenal have a better first 11 than Liverpool after they lost 8-2 to us, I got these responses:

and we're going to take your opinion?
You're like a fecking moth to a flame when it comes to making comments about us being better than any other team.

The arse has fallen out of the Arsenal with their captain and their most creative player gone and they still have a better first XI? Get real.

Arsenal really, really, really don't have a better starting XI than us. Not a chance.

They've lost 2 of their 3 best players, 1 point out of a possible 9, and just had 8 put past them. Now they've got Benayoun and Arteta, it's all glory from here on in (?!?).

£10 bet that we finish above the Arse.
Loser donates money to the HJC?

What the hell has this got to do with Arsene and the pressure he's under? It's about your bollocks statement that despite losing their two best players Arsenal have a better first team than us, after our summer reinforcements.

Reina > Schchchchezny
Johnson > Sanga
Carragher > Mertesacker
Agger > Vermalean (If he stays fit)
Enrique > Santos
Lucas > Song
Adam <> Wilshere (Yet to be seen how good either of them really are consistently, especially Wilshere now Fabregas and Nasri are gone)
Gerrard > Arteta
Suarez > Gervinho
Downing > Walcott
Van Persie > Carroll

The thread that justs keeps on giving.

This is a serious question. What is the percentage of real Scousers that post there. Here, the percentage of real Mancs is pretty low I think, which provides a lot of the muppetry that goes on, but also far less of the bitterness.

What percentage of RAWK posters are actually from Liverpool? Have they ever done a poll or something like that to give some sort of idea?

And who would you play him over?

If we were playing with two strikers I think he and Rooney would be our preferred starters.
Of course it would be ridicules to have 5 class strikers, and it would be sad to see Hernandez and Welbeck get less games...
