RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

Why would Ferguson start a campaign against Suarez? We only face Liverpool in 2 games a season generally, occasionally 3, why would he care if Suarez does or does not get kicked? I know 'King Kenny' is built up to be this God that Ferguson is terrified of but the reality is that we're too far ahead of them for Suarez's diving to have a really significant effect on us. In fact, given that when Ferguson made those comments, we had already played them once and none of our title rivals had, it would be in our interests for Suarez to get away with as much as possible.

The reason Suarez has got away with a lot less isn't what Fergie said, it's what happened 2 weeks before with Rodwell, where Suarez vastly exaggerated the extent of a tackle and Rodwell was unfairly sent off. That is what created the publicity around him, and he's done nothing since to quell it, especially with his behaviour against City. The Kompany assault + dive in particular was a disgrace, but that's gone pretty much unmentioned as far as I can see.

I'd love to see the stats on the number of fouls that Suarez got before Ferguson came out and said he's a diver, to the number of fouls he got after
I hope some of the people on that site are getting the appropriate medication.

Fouls on Suarez in the seven games after SAF's diver comment

Fulham - 3
Man City - 3
Chelsea - 2
Swansea - 2
West Brom - 2
Stoke - 2
Norwich - 0

Fouls on Suarez in the seven games before SAF's diver comment

Oh look at that

You know exactly what the answer will be for that though. It's like back in 2008/09 when they were getting guys sent off against them in 25% of their League fixtures and penalties every other week, no red cards for them and gave away about 2 penalties all season, while continually bitching about us getting favoured by the referees. Someone posted those statistics, and the immediate response was that it's not about volume, it's about how many are the right calls, and of course there are more wrong calls after the comments than before.

Poll/Neville's statements this year has been quite enlightening, refs actually prepare their games analysing players who might stretch the rules. Nani seems to have wised up quite a bit as a consecuence of referees seeing through his play acting.

There's no point arguing any of that though - apparently we pressure the ref by surrounding him but when you point out that they do it the response is oh yeah but that ref made a ridiculous call so we had to.

Yeah, Dalglish pressurises referees by having meetings with them, it's King Kenny doing what he needs to to make sure everything's fair. Ferguson does it, it's obvious evidence of corruption. Facts mean nothing to these people, and you're right, there's no point arguing it, they're not even aware of the biases they showing, they think they're being perfectly reasonable. It's not about reality, it's about tribal allegiances, confirmation biases and cognitive dissonance, psychology broadly.

Obviously it was only because of Gill that Rooney's 'shouting at the camera'-suspension were limited to 3 games only.

Its funny they decide to post that pic of rooney but forget this

there can always be an explanation for the 'v'.. none for the middle finger...

Funny how us or SAF comes anywhere in the discussion when we were not even involved in the game.

I await the announcement from Gus Poyet of how in Uruguay giving someone the middle finger is actually a sign of endearment.

The reds are comin' up the hill boys.

Everything that's been getting thrown at us over the last couple of months can mean only one thing - we have certain people and their corrupt partners worried about us again.

Sure, we are all really worried.

It amazes me that so many people are deluded about the same thing and congregate in the same place. Does supporting Liverpool melt your brain or something?

Someone posted a pic of our players crowding the ref, I suppose to show that Liverpool aren't the only team to have done it.

It had Beckham, Butt and Keane in it

Crikey I daren't post in that thread about improper conduct, I think I'd be accused of WUMmery.

Suarez charge is deserved. My word he's a detestable footballer. The other charge is a bit stupid though.

Then again, I remember Reina coming up to complain about Spearing's red, and I can't really remember an example of that before. Meh, either way this is a pretty funny situation.

Liverpool should announce that they will withdraw all English players from the England Football Team until further notice.

They should also monitor the media and ban the usual suspects from all press conferences until further notice.

They should also refuse to play games which have referees with an obvious agenda assigned by this FA.

I would also like to see us take them to court, I'm sure we have enough on them now over the years to show a clear and demonstrable bias.

Andy

Quality gif, Olly.

The scousers think it is a 'disgrace' that they get pulled up about this.

Legal proceedings are the only way forward. None of this Liverpool way stuff because that is obsolete now, we need to grow a pair of balls and just get right stuck into every fecking c*nt who is conspiring to feck us up. The media, the F.A, all of them.

Why are they all talking about us against Newcastle the other day? There was about 4-5 of our players talking to the referee and linesman. Literally their whole team was throwing their arms around and shouting at the referee
