RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

My favorite comments from the United-Villa game that day were from the BBC Live Text.

1724: "I've just seen the Premier League trophy on the M62 heading towards Liverpool!"
Grant, Liverpool, via text on 81111

1802: " See 1724 - I'm the one driving the trophy down to Liverpool, I've just been told to turn around."
Gary, via text on 81111

"You look at their team, and it's impossible to see them finishing in the top 5 without officials on their side - I haven't seen them all, of course, but I'm not convinced they'd be in the top half of the table this season without the refs as they are. I'd have to examine footage of various games to get some sort of idea."

I'm almost speechless, this can't have been a serious post...:wenger:

On the Villa game that year:

I live near Birmingham, and had told my neighbour that very morning that I never watch United games because they always score as soon as I do, and I didn't want to hear anything about it until the final whistle had gone.
I lost track of time, I knew they were playing but it could have been over....and the silly old fecker came banging on the door telling me to put the telly on.
"I told you not to tell me anything till the final whistle" I screamed.
"Just put the telly on".

So I did. Thinking it was over. That seeing as I'd told him just that morning that the game must be over, and he wanted me to see the post match shenanigans.

A second later their equaliser went in.
Then their 3rd.

Sorry - but blame my neighbour.

I still think if we'd have beaten Arsenal they'd have crumbled. fecking russian twat.

This really does sum up the "reasoning" behind these half-baked conspiracy theories they constantly come up with, though.

"Look at that United team, it's crap. Our players are much better. Wait. They won again? fecking hell, la. Well, since I've decided they're shite, I'm not going to question my own judgment in retrospect; instead I'm going to have to conclude that it's all about corruption and Slur Whiskynose influencing the refs and the FA. It's obvious, isn't it?"

It's what they did with the Suarez affair. They concluded immediately that Evra lied and then they had to fit all the "fachts" to support their theory/assumption, which involved driving a lot of very racist-shaped pegs into a bunch of increasingly outraged holes.

Funny how they all put it down to referee adding 5 minutes in that Villa game when it was 92:02 on the clock when Macheda scored.

I do hate the scouse vermin but god love them for the comedy element.

you know what is the most hilarious part?

they called/ call Evra a liar eventhough three of their players/staff members addmitted that Surez did call Evra "negrito" Evra saying "hey, he called me negrito" is a liar but Suraez who admited that he called Evra negrito is a misunderstood chap.

Hilarious thread, that.

O'Neil and Villa has gone from heroes to utter cnuts in the space of added time,

Ref / FA corrupt

Mr Ferguson and not Sir

Our bench is weak

Rafa showed the WORLD how to beat Man United

Aaah...scousers ey

The RAWK admins allowed a Sunderland/Dippers matchday thread for the first time in ages today.

And because Sunderland have scored, it's been locked!

 Last week there was a match thread for another match, it was open until around half time then it was locked for the second half. For that one it may have been because they forgot to lock it originally but I think they tried to test having a matchday thread then too but towards half time their fans were having a go at the players and weren't happy with the performance.

What is the point of that forum, exactly?!

These quotes were made towards the end of January in this thread when posters on there were getting banned and threads were getting locked left right and centre:

Free speech is all well and good but then how do you know what you're allowed to say?

Horrible place to be on. They've gone mod overload. I can see how and why the staff on there would be a bit pissed off at some of the comments but now it's gone to the point where nearly anyone who says anything completely negative gets banned and those threads get locked. Doing that is not going to make things better, there needs to be some sort of a balance and, in my opinion they're making things worse and not better.

We hardly ban half a dozen main forum posters a year. Hardly ever lock threads, and still get called Nazi's.
On here when things get bad, like after the City loss for example or a few occasions I remember in the newbies, even when things were at their worst threads weren't really locked and while there were some members who were venting, there were also a few others who said it's not the end of the world and added some balance. That's what you need to do, let the members vent and some others will calm things down. Locking every thread is just going to make things worse.

Also helps that there's a promotion system on here so when things do get very bad, most of the "damage" happens in the newbies and not as much here. Whereas on there it's all concentrated in the one place.

Match discussion locked:

I just can't be arsed moderating you lot therefore thread locked. Any new threads opened and i will bin you
Now that is how you moderate. It's an amazement they have active members with the consideration they show to their posters.

I think the Caf moderates itself to to a certain degree. Extreme views are welcomed but if one crosses that thin red line of good taste then gets the bollocking from the users as well. This and the promotion system, IMO it's really working.
Yep. I agree completely.

I think RAWK could moderate itself to a certain degree too. It's the same with any site but the users there aren't really being given that chance to. It does look like that full time thread wasn't locked another time which is a start, though I'm not sure whether the staff stuck to what they said and banned people who had an overly negative view or not.

Most threads being locked happen around match time and why is that? It's because they want to talk about the match but can't because of the commentary thing so they vent about players in the player threads instead and they get locked. Keep a match thread open and sure the odd person may post in a player thread but so what? We've seen on here the criticism of some of our players but then there's always an opposing view which adds a balance to things.

In a match thread they can vent about a player in there at the time and then at full time if they wish they can post that same view in the player thread, or because it's out of their system/the player had a good end to the match they may change their opinion.

Give the members respect and stop treating them like five year olds by locking so many threads and they'll appreciate it. It's a shame as the site does some things so well, like what they did with Anne Williams and but then they let themselves down in other areas.

Since then nothing has changed there apart from them losing a few more active members. Forums are meant to be for discussion but they're not allowed to discuss. For most a football forum without a place to post during the match is madness. They have a chat/IRC channel but that's not the same.

If you don't agree with the view of the mods there, you're banned. You're not allowed to have your own individual opinion. If your opinion is out of order/line then the other members will shout them down, no need for a mod to be involved most of the time.

Look at the amount of locked threads in the Liverpool section of RAWK now

Does Hitler actually run this site from his grave? Because it's a Nazi camp. People are simply NOT allowed to disagree/have different opinions over there!

fecking crazy.
