RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

Kenny splashes out whilst Moyes manages on a shoestring budget. The difference an absolutely huge 5 points.

That person signed up yesterday and only has around 20 posts. I think that one is most likely a WUM as pretty much every post they've made has been negative. He won't be around there much longer.
I only visit rawk around these occasions to find some gems, so didn't actually pay attention to the number of posts.

Despite everything: Still only 10 points off fourth!!

2 wins in 10, our attack couldn't finish it's breakfast let alone a chance. Welcome 6th/7th again. Only we could spend £25m net to get worse.

Always softens the blow to talk "net" spending....

Pining for Rafa.

They forget the dour football he played and that his defensiveness cost them several title challenges.

Benitez was and is a proper twat but that's rubbish. In 2008/09, they punched way above their weight by getting 86 points; I almost agree with RAWKites that it's weird he gets no credit for that. EDIT: though I realize that getting one of the opposition sent off in like 25% of their league games helped a lot.

They never had a squad to challenge for the title. That season they had a quality first team which had one serious flaw: they found it difficult to break down stubborn smaller sides going for a draw.

Captions anyone?

They found it difficult to break down teams who still had 11 men on the pitch

Everyone elses fault but there own isn't it.

I love it.

I know RAWKshites read this thread so I'm going to send a very clear message to them.

I'm a dirty Manc and I'm fecking revelling in your misery and failure. Keep blaming everyone but yourselves and your club who are really to blame for the position you are in and the grin will never leave my face.

Here's a picture of Ferguson, smiling to himself, probably on the phone to the FA laughing about how together they have managed to bring about the demise of a great football club. He's laughing at how Liverpool have never won the Premiership despite having a player like Gerrard and a great manager like Benitez. Life is SO hard sometimes, especially now the government, who are secretly helping keep Liverpool in the gutter, are now actually making people work for their benefits.

Which is still their "serious flaw". So how is getting back a manager who also oversaw the same flaw going to help.

Well, he got them into the CL five times in a row. Doesn't look too bad now when they're 10 points off fourth place. Back then that flaw prevented them from mounting a proper title challenge; now it's dooming them to another 6th or 7th place finish.

Oh, and Mascherano and Alonso cost less combined than Andy Carroll. Both cost less than either Stewart Downing or Jordan Henderson. Benítez is the only manager to this day who could get consistent goalscoring out of Fernando Torres.

RAWK's delusional worship of Benítez is ridiculous and over the top but he's the best manager they had in the last 20+ years. We just mock him because of that bitter and ludicrous rant but he got the most out of Liverpool.

An Anfield Wrap contributor reckons the players have been arguing with Dalglish in the changing room.

Some people need to remember where we were in late 2010.

39 points from 26 games would have been shite then. Now it's progress, apparently.

My favorite Rawk poster Dr Manhattan with a bit of truth.

Absolutely no one half credible picking up on this apart from some bloke on Twitter claiming he got a text.

Some of my favorite quotes when I said Arsenal have a better first 11 than Liverpool this season.
Lucas is a cut above Song, keeps the play ticking over in a way Song can't even approach. Van Persie might be class but Suarez is definitely as good if not better, and gets injured far less.

Just can't believe the shit some people write. Arsenal are shocking, not a shadow of the team they were, an amazing collection of pushover-injury prone bottlers that face a very, very long season ahead.
Bring them on please, pretty please.
I wouldnt have a single Arsenal player in our team, not a single one. Not even Van Persie, as South America's best player is better (Messi not included of course )

Why are we talking about battlin it out with Arse and spurs for getting 4th?? Chelsea are gank. We'll take 3rd at the least quite comfy

Hogdson's WBA are only 4 points behind (played a game more mind) but it still made me

TBF i dont think theres much between Liverpool and Asnls squad if you took RvP out of Asnls. Asnl probably edge it but i think both are around the same level

Yep you're right, who needs Arteta, Wilshere and Ramsey when you have Henderson, Adam and Shelvy.
