RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

Arghhh, Christ...

Our club is replete with fairy tales - lets face it, the first chapter of the latest one was written last night.

This has also been a period in which Kenny has been vilified by some cockroaches with pens and keyboards recently. The sweetness of this victory takes place in the aftermath of this absurd moment, when these cockroaches laughably waved their fists at the proud Glaswegian Lion of Birkdale.

Liverpool win Holy Grail, Nobel Prize, Miss World etc etc Other news: Malaysian boy gets unexpected Carling Cup Final souvenir football after missed Penalty

From that headline and without reading it, I take it Charlie Adams penalty-ball finally landed in Malaysia, must have thundered back down from space after hitting the Moon's crossbar......

I bow down; a RAWK quote for the ages.

Seeing how this League Cup win has revitalised RAWK, bringing back the style of prose we all know and love, might we even dream of once again experiencing 'the full impact of the Liverpudlian communion'?

There is no God, only some clubs that have a pact with the devil. Liverpool are one of those clubs.

What I'd give for a Carling Cup trophy and they've got themselves another one despite almost fecking it up against a Championship side. The whole victim mentality is even more bizarre considering they consistently come up smelling of roses. Even bringing back a racist old man from a bygone era has somehow worked out well for them.

I didn't realise that cockroaches had fists until I read that post.

I love the image of cockroaches ineffectually but defiantly waving their tiny fists. They know The proud Glaswegian Lion of Birkdale will triumph in the end, but they're determined to have a go, and go down in a blaze of glory. Reminds me of the great Godspeed You! Black Emperor tune Lift Yr. Skinny Fists, Like Antennas to Heaven... --

That forum is like a mother telling her kid she's a princess everyday and thereby bigging her up to an unreasonable self image. Almost every poster there has the word 'legend' as a tagline.

Despite the carling cup being pretty low in importance it's the taste of a trophy that can start a team off. It was good enough for us in 2005 however we had 2 huge prospects by the names of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney hence our future successes in the league and champions league.

I don't think Liverpool are anywhere close to the potential we had at that time and aren't good enough to put a title challenge or win the cl let alone qualify.

Will just serve as a distraction till Liverpool fans realise he blew 100million on England's B team.

Nice to see Godspeed You quoted here - hometown band !

To be fair, he didn't say it's better to win League Cup than appear in the World Cup final.

He said that trophies matters and it's easy to understand him, no one wants to remember a lost final, it's better to have a medal than photos of you playing in the final...

The clubs reaction to winning the Carling cup has been hilarious, I'm not surprised their more deluded fans are lapping it up.

They beat a championship team, in a penalty shootout ffs, to listen to them you'd think they'd won the champions league.

They are, in the majority, delusional...

I had the misfortune of being there, and having to listen to a lot of them on the train.

Some of the comments I heard were so funny, was biting my tongue so much. Didnt much fancy getting beaten up by the Sports Direct office party though.

My favourite comment 'Henderson can lead our midfield for years to come'

Or 'I knew Kenny would bring the glory days back'

Liverpool are currently 24 points back of City and are on pace to finish 32 points back of the league winner. That's quite a gap.

Still, I'd like a trophy this year.

to be fair to him, that 'Airshot' he did on Sunday was a thing a beauty, it takes years to perfect. Someone GIF it.

And in the second half he hit that volley that only narrowly missed the corner flag. He's being quoted in the papers today as saying he's going to fight his way into the England squad for the Euros! He'd be better off concentrating in maintaing his place in Liverpool's first team squad... he could start by putting his boots on the right feet...

Maybe he could literally fight his way into the squad? Injure every single eligible player and he just might have a chance.

A couple of cardiff penalty misses has been the difference between them slating their team/owners (always the owners fault) and them being a competitive force again to challenge all.

To be fair the Liverpool fan who watched it with us said he found it hard to celebrate that win.

Captions anyone?

Torres may have a World Cup and a European Championship. But no Carling Cup. He has failed at life

Tbf you can't blame Scousers for celebrating.

I mean they hardly win trophies and not sure how soon they will win the next one.

So they are bound to over-celebrate a bit.
