Ravel Morrison (Only football related)

Watching that vid yesterday I kept thinking his playing style really reminds me of someone, but couldn't put my finger on who. Just watched it again & saw it straight away...Zidane! Before you take the piss watch the vid again with Zizou in mind, particularly where Ravel's on the left.

It's not really that ridiculous as he has the same kind of economical movement, almost lazy running but covering a lot of ground, playing at his own pace.

It seems the world's at his feet if he wants it

I've had the same thoughts, just kept quiet about it because I thought I was going well over the top

His ability on the ball is quite something to behold though, both running at pace and in getting out of tight spots, he's got a very creative brain too and always willing to pass, move and show for it.

Think it's fair to say that every United fan on the planet should have all their fingers and toes crossed that he can capitalise on his talents.

Or even Ryan Giggs! Well if he can make as much of his talents as either of them then it would be wonderful for everyone concerned.

Still only 18, the bulk usually comes on a bit later. Don't think he'd be bullied at all at the moment though, not least because it's quite tough to actually get near him.

Is it fair to assume he's not the type of character we're likely to send on loan but rather keep him at United where we can keep control of him better?

He's too good for the youth team and to me he always looks one of the best players at reserve level...he can't stay there much longer surely?

Having made the bench on a couple of occasions my feeling is that he( and Pogba) will get some 1st team action next season

And perhaps one or two others. About his size though, lets not forget Giggs was 10stone for most of his career. He was never a giant, but he was just that good. I don't think anyone can say with certainty what we'll do in the summer, and we are still waiting on Scholes ofcourse. These kind of things could easily fast track someone.

I don't get to watch many reserve games, what with them mostly happening when I'm at college, so forgive me if I sound completely uneducated here:

From what I've seen of Ravel, his skill on the ball seems to be his prime strong point. Could he be an option on the wing for us in the future, or does his future lie primarily in the centre?

Takes up wide positions and does damage from them, but I'm guessing the long term plan is to keep him in the centre.

He has the rare ability of being able to open up teams through the centre with his dribbling ability.

I reckon he'd make a great centre mid (of the playmaker mould anyway) even without his dribbling abilities. Has struck me as a very intelligent user of the ball whenever I've seen him this year, with a great eye for a pass and the ability to pull them off. Can still give it away sloppily, but that'll improve. The kind of player you want to travel all over the pitch, because he can do damage from pretty much anywhere.

He probably could play there but he's a midfielder/attacking midfielder who can play behind the forward. I think that there was once this thing where when you had this quality, it was natural to put players with that ability on the wing but he's good from centre

I don't think the turn thing was on the main highlights, but I it may have been shown in the show outro during the credits. He's kind of facing a player, steps over the ball and spins left 180 degrees, his opposing player then moves to that players right to close the ball down, but Morrison then spins around to his left again, taking the ball with him this time and past the player. Takes about a second, and is very bamboozling. Basically gets the player to commit without realising it.

I think this is it...

Yup, the one at 1 second is the one I was talking about. Mr MUJAC says it was another one though...sadly looks lost forever!

I know it's so easy to get over excited and he has not experienced first team stuff yet...but I'd love him to get a chance off the bench this season...possibly in a game we are in control of...go on lad, go have some fun.

Only chance I can see for that is if we have the title wrapped up by the Blackburn/Blackpool games. If that were the case, I could see us resting players, especially if we progress in the CL and FA Cup (dreamland) as the end of season fixture list would be a horrid pile up.

team vs Blackpool:

............Van Der Sar

Brown...Smalling...Vidic..Fabio

Park....Scholes...Tunnicliffe...Nani
...............Morrison
..............Hernandez

:D

What about Everton at home. Say we were a few up with 15 to go? A scenario such as that?

I wouldn't, simply for the scenario where we are not a few goals up, and need to secur the result. I do really rate Morrison, but I wouldn't say Fregie would have him on the bench ahead of a more dependable player for games that are still massively important. I could only see him getting a run out at the end of the season in a game that doesn't matter to United.

Injuries could change that though - I would put Morrison on the bench ahead of Obertan or Bebe, for example - if we needed to fill the bench.

It could depend a lot on the Youth Cup as well, we'll want to win that and keep focused on it, but once it's over in one way or another, we could perhaps start seeing him in a few matchday squads.

Found this on tribalbollox...The People are probably just putting two and two together.

Manchester United are ready to hand starlet Ravel Morrison a new contract.

The People says Morrison is being rewarded for his progress with a new deal.

Sir Alex Ferguson believes the 18-year-old striker has a huge future ahead of him and has moved to tie him to the club for three more years.

Morrison could even feature in the first team this season if the title is wrapped up with games to spare.

He has been instrumental in United’s match to the FA Youth Cup final.

anyone hear anything on him in the last while? Haven't seen him in a United side since the FAYC semi final. On Manchester United Rumours (I know, POS site...) one fella is saying he is back with his old group of mates and hasn't been around Carrington lately. Anyone know if he is injured or messing things up again?

He got a knock at the end of the semi and was limping a bit, probably injured.

It's all from one b/s post on some retarded website that I can't believe anyone takes seriously enough to repost anywhere. As someone else posted, looked like he took a knock v Chelski, nothing sinister.

Isn't he allowed to hang around with his mates then? Can't believe anyone is reading anything into this.

The kid made a mistake in the past doesn't make him Guzman

On the bench v Liverpool. Ignore random attention seekers on no mark sites.

Just came here to post this. Seriously I think he's an easy target for some of the people out there, just create a rubbish rumor and you know some idiots will believe considering his history.

And that's the kind of shit the press will get up to aswell should he break into the first team

King tweeted a picture of him sitting on a couch in Carrington

Then promptly deleted it.

CONSPIRACY

Shame. He is so talented. Whenever I've seen him he's impressed. Looks a cut above the others. But like I said before he is more likely to end up a wasted talent than a player because of his self destruct streak.

Gets to a point where one asks, how many chances can he get?
