Rashford scored from the first time he touched the ball on Monday. Amad, Bruno, Garnacho still seem to be getting at the end of chances much more frequently compared to Hojlund.
The main issue are his instincts are wrong and technique & balance is on poor level. There's a chance he's super low on confidence and this will all be magically fixed, but he's way way off at the moment.
Still think we should loan him out.
I still think he just needs service and he will score. But I respect your opinion.

Alan Shearer (the absolute prototype for Hojlund to base himself on) did a piece last year showing how his movement is actually really good, but his teammates are unable to make use of it.

I’m always reminded of it when know alls on the matchday threads are telling us how poor he is.

Superb technique for the first goal. This lad has real potential to be a quality forward. Hope Amorim can work his magic on him.

He's clearly a big talent. His scoring record for us is actually very good considering how poorly we've used him most of the time.

Really looking forward to seeing what he can do with Amorim and the new coaches

We didn’t even create that much for him today to be honest. Just the third goal which was great play and exactly what Amorim will be looking for in attack.

The first goal he made all on his own for Garnacho and the second goal was barely a half chance, albeit well created by Mazraoui.

A really good performance from him today, full of hard work and quality.
Agree with your assessment.

He fashioned the first goal out of nothing by closing the keeper down quickly and his first goal would've been scored against any opponent because his first touch was immaculate and his second touch was to guide the ball into the corner of the net.

But like you state, we still don't get him into goal scoring positions nearly enough as we should because it seems the players around him are too focused on hitting their own personal quotas for goals. We need a little bit more unselfishness from certain players in the final third which would benefit the team as a whole.

The issue United have isn't a striker one but rather one where you can't create plays from deeper positions. And if Amorim wants to implement his system to good effect then the personnel occupying roles in deeper midfield and at wingback need to be upgraded to a high level with and without the ball.

Apart from Hojlund I was pleased with Mazraoui and Mount's contributions which helped make things tick.

Looked like a proper old fashion striker for United tonight and loved his work rate throughout the game. More of the same against Everton on Sunday I hope.

Agree with every word of that. Although I’d add Ugarte as well - I thought his pressing and quick, simple use of the ball high up the pitch was the starter for most of our more dangerous attacks.

His interview after the game where he said he enjoys playing in this system because it’s similar to the one he played in at Atalanta was interesting to hear. He was definitely excellent today. Maybe the change of manager is going to be perfect for him.

Two excellent finishes for different reasons. I especially liked how he outmuscled the defender to find space for the second.

Really happy for him. Has to start on Sunday now.

Højlund was a bit of a streaky player last season, so maybe this will get him going a bit. At least it's clear that he can actually finish chances, if the team creates for him. The second goal is one he should get a lot more of, if the team improves the overall attacking play.

That could win Amorim's trust for now, but it also needs to motivate Zirkzee to find the net more often.
I thought Zirkzee not getting any minutes tonight will become a regular thing. Unfortunately for the lad I think he just isn’t the of the required standard and is laid back approach won’t suit Amorim at all. Would be surprised if he isn’t back playing in Italy within a year, where he suits best.

He’s obviously use to a 3-4-3 system as he played that with Atalanta. Still lots of work to do for him and the rest of the team.

Now can we put the discussion about whether he’s a talent or not to rest?

The only question is how good he can become, not if he’ll become good at all.

Aside from winning, the most pleasant thing was hearing that he was back amongst the goals.

Just seeing that clip above, and it's on his weaker foot, too! I get having concerns, but I still don't get how anyone is completely writing him off. The talent is raw, but there.

I have gutted him recently but credit where credit is due. Rasmus improved tonight. Made movements when necessary and was there when the chances were laid on the plate. Good performance. He needs to show more consistency.

All the regulars who are here to slag him off after a poor performance are nowhere to be seen. Can't even give credit where it's due. @AarhusUnited in particular must be furious he had a great game

I went against the grain at the weekend because from what I saw initially this system looked far better for him. I’ll echo that again tonight, he will thrive with the extra service and space this system creates. One thing we know for certain, if you generate him chances, he can really put them away.

Wow.
How surprising that a system that's geared towards an actual striker is benefiting a striker!
