He was never ready to be the main man, and now I fear he's picked up some really bad habits and lost the things that made him a player with potential. Look at some of his performances and goals last season. There was clearly a player there, so for that to completely dissipate is very worrying. It's not often a young player completely goes backwards when they're actually playing this often.

People saying this is down to a lack of confidence. Like, of course he’s going to have a lack of confidence, that’s what happens with strikers who score no goals. He’s failed to score in about 80% of his games in nearly two years, and in that 80%, in the vast majority he has also failed to even nearly score. Why the feck would such a striker play with confidence?

Most of the games he scored in his general play was shit as well, that is the reality, been very few games that Hojlund the footballer, not the goalscorer, has actually looked up to this level.

Needs to be taken out of his misery for a while. Give Chido more minutes, it just isn't working for him. I knew it was a bad idea to splash such an amount of him. Not his fault though. But for the time being, take him out of the pressure cooker.

Obviously Amorim is hoping he gets a goal to kick start him but it's not going to happen in this form. It might be best if he picks up an "injury" that seems him unavailable to start for a few games.

Agreed he's scored the majority of his goals from January 18th to February 23rd last season. He's a bit part player but not a threat.

70 odd million is horrendous. He's very fortunate the likes of Sancho and Mount keeping him in close company.

Obi won as many duels today as a sub as Rasmus has across the last 5 games. That is nuts.

Obi:
Fulham (52min): 4/8

Hojlund:
Fulham (68min): 1/5
Ipswich (67min): 0/7
Everton (70min): 0/8
Spurs (90min): 1/9
Leicester (90min): 2/7
Total (385min): 4/36

Was really excited for him after last season but he's just fallen off a cliff. Just looks completely ineffective though it's not as if we're making a ton of chances for him and he's missing them. Would like for him to be more involved off the ball but that isn't his strength at all.

Looking at the stats, he's only had 2.8 xG the whole PL season so again it's also in us that we just aren't able to create enough chances for him.

Honestly, criticizing Hojilund feels like kicking a man while he's down at this point. Should he be even on the pitch if our recruitment/scouts were in any way competent? we needed a backup striker in the summer and who did they sign, Joshua fecking Zirkzee.

The signing seemed a bit questionable from the beginning, but at least he previously showed signs of potential to become a good striker.

But his performances this season have been absolutely shocking. We're talking David Bellion, Mame Diouf, and Gabriel Obertan level performances.
I guess it's down to a combination of him not having the required level/potential/mentality to make it here and our toxic environment which seems to bring out the worst in almost any signings.

In terms of "value" for money he's about as bad as Antony, Sanchez, Sancho et al and unless something drastically changes we would be lucky to get back 30 % of his transfer fee.

The kid's broken. You can see him trying to get back into his groove, almost overplaying with the flicks to get his confidence up. It ain't happening though.

I see this being another Diego Forlan type situation. He'll go somewhere else, somewhere there's less pressure and have a good career. Can't see it turning around at United though.

I don't even know what he's trying to do anymore, never finds space, can't hold the ball up, can't outpace defenders, always losing out when he's backing into a defender, etc.

I can't think of many strikers that came back to make it in the Prem after looking so bad and going on a goalless run like this, so we'd be wise to just get him out in the summer rather than persisting.

I wish he was even an inch of the player Forlan was.

4 passes, 9 touches, 1 shot in 68 minutes. Obi gave them more to worry about and he is clearly nowhere near ready.

Get this man out of my club.

That's what I think. He's mentally broken. It's not fair for any young player coming in and playing in this United side.

The previous heirachy, pardon my language, really fecked this club over with these signings. Sometimes I think it was a sabotage job because you can't look at someone like this and think they're worth playing for a club like this and at that crazy price.

72 mil wouldn't even be enough to get you the left boot of a prime Wayne Rooney.

Old man Casemiro on crazy wages. Mount made of glass. Shaw a permanent figure in the treatment room. What the feck was Anrold and co playing at?

Take him out for a few weeks.

Not sure Obi is ready or if its fair but we don't have a choice

Hojlund needs a break

Are we sure it was the scouts? They've been ignored or overruled so often over the past decade that I have a hard time singling them out for blame.

Needs to be on the bench for a few weeks. He needs some time off the pitch with a few cameos here and there. He's cracking under the pressure.

Was better in his first season in England at 20/21 years old than in 2nd at 21/22 years old. I feel for him as it's clearly not working and we don't have an established striker to take the pressure off him.

We don't have options so Hojlund will probably keep starting in games but probably smartest thing in summer would be to sell. Don't think loan works as we paid 70m for him so a sale at decent fee looks more probable.

Know it's really unlikely but maybe he can at least perform in European game again as we've got 2 legs vs Sociedad. Given his age he's been good enough for us in CL and EL so far imo.

I've no idea anymore. Imagine a group of professional football men coming together and deciding that he's the CF that will help take the pressure off Hojilund. God help us.

He looks huge whenever the camera zooms on him, but he can't use his physicality and keeps losing most of his duels.

So glad Obi came on and created a few chances for himself. Apparently it's impossible to have a chance without supply.

Hojlund is a championship level striker bought for elite money. Another on the list of worst signings we've ever made from the current squad.
