Good, he is just saying what some of us already know. Hate on this lad when we already see last season what he can do is crazy.
 
How did he utilise Gyokeres at Sporting, was it in this same hold up play role? It's so clearly not Rasmus's forte - we need a way of utilising him which plays to his strengths - speed and finishing, not his ability to control the ball with his back to goal and hold off defenders.

Have a look at a load of the 442 videos about how Amorim from November.

A large percentage of chances were geared to having WBs/10 drive into the box down the channels and feed the ball across to give him a high XG tap in.

We dont do a lot of those runs. When we do our 10s normally want to shoot instead of cross.

Thd few timee it has been crossed chances are Hojlund hasnt made the right run.

Fair enough he is bigging up the player and trying to give him some confidence which he desperately needs. I do think he recognizes we need a senior striker and that is a need but our overall attacking play is incredibly poor.
 
De Ligt and Maguire are better strikers. He’s really struggling it’s worrying

Beyond his lack of ability, his confidence is absolutely fecking shot.

What striker doesn’t take the shot, when he let it run through his legs?
 
He’s nowhere near good enough. Needs to be loaned to gain a bit of confidence and value for a sale.

Easily one of the worst strikers I’ve seen at the club and his price is just a reflection of where we currently are

Giving this guy endless opportunities to prove himself is just pointless. It's clear as day that he's just not at the level required.

His confidence is rock bottom that's clear, he's not this bad. Wouldn't be a professional player if he was. He lacks so many skills that I don't think he'll ever be good enough but he's surely not this shit. Has to be loaned to a lower league where he takes up his confidence scores some goals or something. At this point he doesn't do anything, absolutely anything right, can't win a duel, can't win a header, can't make a pass, don't control nor retain the ball, doesn't make good runs, doesn't shoot, I can recall any single play today where I thought he did something right.
 
I keep being surprised on a weekly basis by just how bad of a footballer he actually is. Just put him out of his misery already, it's embarassing seeing him out on the pitch for us. He needs a loan to the championship or preferably just a transfer to a weaker league, if we can get money for him. He's not cut out for the league let alone this club. Infuriating just seeing him get minutes here
 
5 passes and 0/6 duels won in 67 mins, we could stick a crone up top and we'd probably get the same.
 
He's showed us at times last season that he's a very capable footballer. Decent finisher when given the chance, can hold the ball up, quick...

He was never good off the ball. In hindsight, he was perhaps lucky to find himself in many of the goal-scoring chances he had. Doesn't make himself available and always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But now, nothing is going right for him. I've held out hope that he might realise some of his potential here, but I don't see it anymore. I was skeptical about this transfer from the start given his senior record before joining and the massive fee we paid. But this looks like going down as one of the most confusing and embarrassing gambles from our scouting department.

Just think what 60m could have bought us
 
No more sentiment. We don't have the time or money for it anymore. He has had a 2 year audition now and has failed it. He has shown nothing in that time bar a brief burst of goalscoring that he has never come close to replicating, á la Amr Zaki.

Time to move on.

That is absurd. Put Haaland on a 16 game scoring drought and his general play would still be leagues above Hojlund.
 
Yeah, he's not that bad. You can't regress by that much that quickly naturally. But he does need a reset (not sure if that's with us or not), he puts out genuine 1/10 performances on a regular basis, he can't do anything right nowadays.
 
Time to bench this guy, he is mentally shot.

Offers nothing, a waste of space out there at the moment.
 
He's definitely playing well below his ability, I'm not sure why he keeps getting played though. Needs to be loaned in the summer.
 
It's tough to watch and there's still 3 more months to go. He's been good in Europe for us so perhaps can surprise us and perform against Sociedad and make it all look bit better.
 
He's allergic to shots, never mind goals.

He can't even get shots off.

Infuriating player to watch.

The current Hojlund is every bit as bad as the worst of Weghorst, it's as bad as any striker we've ever had.

Just awful. Zero threat, looks like he'll never score another goal.
 
A signing as bad as the Antony one, only difference is that he looks so innocent and seems like a nice guy so people are making excuses.

I used to make excuses as well, but there is no serious way to defend 17 games without a single goal. Not just without a goal, without any impact at all.
