Seems like he can't get a break and be the hero for once. Everytime I think he will be our matchwinner, we manage to mess it up.
Ten hag has obviously told him to work as hard in pressing as he possibly can, meaning he is gassed before the 90 minuttes.
Had he played as most other strikers do (aka not very aggressive pressing throughout the match), he would have no issues doing 90 min.
I personally agree with the strategy of him burning all his energy in aggressive pressing for 70 minuttes, then subbing him for fresh legs.
This. He does the runs over and over again, and when our players finally sees him he'll score more. Good and hardworking guy.He gets service and he scores, he's proven it in the Champions League. About the only positive of this season so far.
Yeah, it has to be a bit discouraging to score 2 goals twice and not get a draw let alone a win. And the goals are not coming late when we are way behind. He's scoring early to give us leads and we can't hold them.Bless him. 5 goals in 4 games in the CL and not a single point to show for it. Ridiculous really.
Subbed cos he was gassed but funny thing is he probably scores at the end if he's on the pitch (rebound chance)
He probably can last the 90 if he didn’t have to press so hard alone for the most part in the first 60.Indeed. That was his territory.
This goes back to something that I replied to earlier, and I think there is a dilemma. Do we want him to play like Wayne Rooney (spending his energy so much at pressing hard that he's out of it by 70-75 minutes) or do we want to see him eventually grow into someone like Harry Kane or Robert Lewandowski (who know how and when to preserve energy in order to last the full 90 minutes)? I know Hojlund works really hard, but this is where someone somewhere must find a way to teach him how to preserve energy in order to last the full 90.
Absolutely. He presses for two people every single - himself and Rashford. He probably can last the 90 if he didn’t have to press so hard alone for the most part in the first 60.
More than the goals, I like how he shields the ball. Of course his passing has a lot of room for improvement still but he has all the tools to be a great striker, just not at our broken club
Yes, that too. Still so young, it feels like the timing of his arrival at our club isn't right. He'd be so much better if things around him made more sense football wiseI like how well he carries the ball at full pace. He's probably our best forward at it, as Rashford tends to kick and run a bit more.
One of us!Is he a Caf poster?
But Hojlund has not shown himself to be a very good poacher as well. He is like groomed to be a complete striker but is not an excellent poacher or target man as of now.
He's been very good throughout the season. I know some people only pay attention to goals and assists but his all round performances in open play have been very good. One of the posters above mentioned Hojlund scoring 10 + goals if he was at Arsenal in the current season, and I agree. If Hojlund was at Arsenal he would've scored a number of goals without a doubt.
Celebrating against former clubs should always be allowed. I hate when players don't.Why did he celebrate against his old club? Did he leave them on bad terms?
I feel sorry for this lad. He deserves to play in a proper club under a proper manager. He will be buried in this graveyard alongside all the rest.
A player with enormous potential, held back by a hilariously bad team around him. If things don't improve he'll need to move on to progress. He'll not reach his potential working with this lot.
Only in name. Our actual performance doesn’t match the club’s reputation, we’re a fecking mess.I cannot fathom these posts. He's just signed for UTD FFS.
