What a difference good attacking football makes for a striker. Beast!
Hojlund ISN’T RvP - the reason Fergie said that about Robin was because he was a special player and a genius talent who was ready to deliver. Hojlund is not that - he’s currently a Championship / League 1 level striker who the club has massively overpaid for.
You don’t rip up a team in order to try and justify a daft transfer - if you’re gonna ditch anything, you ditch the dud player.
(He's since deleted this post and hasn't been in the thread since Christmas.)
Has he really. That is funny, just eat humble pie and admit you were wrong!(He's since deleted this post and hasn't been in the thread since Christmas.)
Where's the haters?
It was a great goal today but I would say his goals against Newport and Wolves are more the sort of centre forward goals that we need to be seeing. Finally, he scored a proper CF goal. Good sign! Keep going.
2 assists as well, so it’s 10+2. Only Bruno has more goal contributions in the team (7+7)10 goals in 28. Not a bad return for a 20 year old's debut season so far, despite the (long) barren run domestically.
As I have said before, he doesn't need a senior striker, or to be an understudy, or any of that nonsense. He just needs to play as much as his body allows, this is how you get experience, and to have proper wingers around him. Which means Garnacho with improved decision making on the left, and a winger that's not Antony on the right. A creative midfielder behind him wouldn't hurt either.

You can see the ability is definitely there. Absolutely love the goal he scored.
Might be young but he's not it.
He is absolutely awful. Nothing more than a battering ram. Another shit signing.
Anyone who's giving it the; "You can see the talent/He's almost there/diamond in the rough/it'll come good, he's too good not to" spiel is talking out their arse.
He is not a good player. He has one facet to his game, being able to back into a defender. The rest ranges from absolute rubbish to limited.
We were sold another pup.
A lot of money wasted on a player who is nowhere near ready
Not much between him and Martial today. Cluelessly got booked. Desperate to get someone in that can play striker for us.
He is not good enough to play at this level, ive not seen a convincing performance from him in any of the league games he has played
Waste of money
Again, the guy was let go by FC Copenhagen 18 months before we signed him. Not sold because he was such a great talent, no, they didn’t really believe in him. There was always a question mark over him, and it hasn’t exactly diminished yet.
Signing a project striker for £72m whose body isn't robust enough to play two games in a row is so us
He isn't good enough 72m on him in the summer was pretty stupid. Yes he has some talent, but as usual United fans clearly overstating said talent
Don't care if you're new to the league and 'not getting the service'. Nearly half the season gone and no PL goal. Pathetic.
We are reaching the concerning territory with him. You can't be in December and score 0 goals in the league. The other thing is I just don't see a striker instinct with him. He works hard and holds the ball well but then on most occasions is hardly seen at the right place.
I predict he goes out on loan in the summer and we never see him again.
At the moment he's as useful as Weghorst. Trying to wrestle defenders and putting in some running. He looks like Lukaku at times on the ball, yesterday he tried doing a couple of stepovers and fell over. His all round play isn't amazing, and obviously he's struggling to score.
He'll obviously get better in time but I do wonder exactly how good he'll be. Right now he looks levels below the likes of Ferguson, who is a year younger.
He's not ready and most likely not good enough either.
He's shite.
Horrific performance. Play him on the wing.
With that sense for positioning and movement, he is not poacher type for sure.
We properly got our pants pulled down with him. Comically shit.
Absolutely awful again, contributed nothing
He's a 20 year old Wout Weghorst.
He's lucky that the word 'potential' will protect him for a few years yet.
Championship level player. That's how bad he is.
Seen enough of him now to make up my mind. No where near good enough. Seems to have lost the fight as well that he had at the start of the season. One of the many passengers in this team. But less of a problem than McT, Dalot etc
He's not very good really. It's only his age that is giving him a pass. His price tag is mental, but that's not his fault tbf. Just another abysmal decision from Erik Ten Hag
I think he is a bit crap in all honesty. He can hold the ball up, but after that the rest of his game is seriously lacking. Focused too much tonight on having a scrap with Upamenco more interested in the defender than the ball at times.
Sadly nowhere near good enough. Looked lost tonight
I don't think he has much of a natural talent.
I know Martial failed in the long term but we have seen what a talented expensive young forward looks like when he was bought. Hojlund needs a huge amount of work and time to be developed. I don't see that happening at a big club, especially at United.
Weghorst was more involved than rasmus. Neither can score but Weghorst was normal involved a lot more in attacks.
For all these "Look at his movement!" merchants. Watch him on 42 minutes when Garnacho is making his break. He hasn't a fecking clue what he's doing. In, out, in, out, in, out, all the while getting closer to Garnacho and dragging more defenders towards him, ruining the move.
fecking hell, we've signed the danish Oli Mcburnie. For 72million!! Oli would've cost 50 quid.
Looking like yet another expensive dud
Think I'm yet to see him make a bit of space for himself and fire off a shot. Our main striker, ffs... If there's no one to spoonfeed him one on one vs the keeper, he's absolutely helpless.
Plays his best on the counter. Surprise surprise.
