Will completely change our game going forward having an actual number 9 who can keep CBs busy.

Amazing the difference by somebody just doing just he basics of the No.9 position.

Made a shitty run when him, Rashford and Antony ran 3v3.
But he looked good, looks willing to press and fight for second balls, which can't be said for Martial. Can't judge his finishing yet, but he'll make chances for us by winning balls up high, so there's progress already there.

Looked good. No excuse to not start him over Martial today IMO.

His ability to run in channels, press and hold up the ball will do us wonders. We will need another striker next summer or even winter and after selling Martial. Would be too risky to rely on such a young player as Hojlund..

It's almost funny that the simple act of him backing into defenders gave us a couple of chances to get at their defence.

Immediate difference, though obviously starstruck a bit, but that will pass.

Looking forward to seeing more.

He’s a unit, physically battered Gabriel. Can’t wait to see more of him.

There clearly was but I won't explain it to you. See if you can figure it out.

Lovely. Very happy with his first outing in what was a very hard game for a United striker. But his aggression, pace, strength and link up were all promising. Long way to go but a good first impression.

His physicality contrasted ever so slightly with Martial's.

Worst case scenario, he’s a Darwin/Jackson type of no.9 that seems very vogue — extremely fast, strong and gives the CBs a proper match, but volatile and unpredictable

Took him about 8 seconds to do more than Martial. Looks like he’ll be a threat.

As I said, waste of time starting Marital. On the manager.

It'd be good if he can play 45-60 minutes twice for Denmark during this break. He should be able to start for us after that.

Might’ve won had he got longer. Changed the game and helped bring others into play (shock).

What might’ve been if we had a plan in place to have key players in key positions ready for the start of the season. He’s been injured but what’s the excuse for not having another CF ready to go from day 1?
The other centre forward was injured too? We’ve clearly put our faith in him, we’re not going to buy another striker to cover the first 3 games.

Unfortunate how things have fallen, but not much else to be done there.

Impressive start. It is harsh that he is on the end of the smash and grab but you can already see he gives us a different dimension.

Good debut. Tall, strong and fast, but he seems to lose his balance easily.

Pity we did not start him , always more difficult to come into a game like that.

But he looked up for it and done more than Martial did in less than half the time , at least with this lad defenders will know they are in a game.

Looks good physically. Just having an able runner upfront changed the dynamics of the game in our favour.

He could've scored on his debut.
When Rashford broke on the left, Højlund just needed to make a near post run and shoot with his left foot. He seemed to pull up and move centrally.

It might have been his first touch also.

We can rotate Marital who seems like we played 10 man on this match and last match..
Finally we have a big target no.9 who can use his body and hold up play.
