We finished 3rd with 66 points and 2nd with 74 points under Ole, something that will never happen. The standards of the league in both seasons were shit.

And this season the standard is suddenly better?

The league is not "shit" it competitive, during those "shit" season United made a Europa League semi final and final. and Chelsea and City both made to the UCL final, if the Premier League was "shit" what was rest of Europe?

Edited: tried to quote a poster but phone is infuriating.
Sorry for out of context post.

Competitive? When we finished 3rd with 66 points, the 2nd spot was City with 81 points, 15 points ahead of us, and Liverpool won the league with 99 points, 18 points ahead of City.

Next season we finished 2nd with 74 points while City were first with 86 points, 12 whole points ahead of us.

That's not called a competitive league. There's one or two teams who are far ahead of everyone else while the rest are mediocre or simply awful. It's the same this season, Liverpool and City are miles away from everyone else and are playing in their league while the rest of the league has been shit. Chelsea who are 3rd now are actually having an awful league campaign.

Not to mention, when we finished 2nd, Liverpool had a season with injury crisis in which they spent the majority of the season without their entire defense, and Chelsea sacked their manager midway after their league campaign had already been fecked with Lampard underperforming at the start. Still, we only finished 5 points only ahead of Liverpool.

The PL has been quite boring and lacking any quality for some years now. Media are trying to show that the league has 6 big guns but the reality is it's only Liverpool and City, while the rest are struggling to even finish 4th.

What's the achievement in United reaching EL semi or final? That's the least I will expect from Man United playing such in shit competition. Did you see our route when we reached the semi and got KOed by Seville? We played Club Brugge, LASK and Copenhagen. Great achievement reaching the semi indeed. Literally the first good team we met in this tournament knocked us out.

Notice that no one ever points out the only reason Ole got 2nd place with 74 points was because Liverpool had an anomaly of a season in the first place with injuries causing poor extended form.

But alas.

I really hope the club take Rangnick's advice on board and won't let his poor managerial stint affect their trust in him. They have proven themselves time and time again to be reactionary though.

Worst take ever. Clearly you know nothing about football.

we are terrible, and 80% of the issue is Ralf. The worse we get, mentally, the longer it will take to build us back up.
Anyone who's blaming the manager after a shitshow of a season is delusional, which you appear to be.

Even if we appoint you as manager our performance should be much better, its not like were only losing games because the opposition manager had a tactical advantage or made the right subs at the right time. Lets face reality, the players have downtooled and no its not the responsibility of the manager to coddle downtooling players and they should be rightly marked to be sold the next transfer window.

Top 4 trophy missed. What a sad day for our club.

Genuinely, the club took a different, more football approached route. Took the risk and clearly wanted to change this shitshow we've been watching, but no, should have gone for Conte. There is a reason why that man is managaing Spurs. Its not because he waits Guardiola to leave City. Or Madrid will call him.

Let's feck off ten Hag by December if it doesn't go well and try to lure Simeone next season.

I have high hopes for ETH but I really really hope he doesn't follow on the footsteps of Ralf in terms of airing dirty laundry in public and basically blaming everything on the players again in public. Its just a quick way to lose your players and there's no coming back from that for any manager.

It is the job of the manager to improve the attitudes of these players.

Improve. This is quite simple. And it is true for any job, any company. Improve. Not make perfect. Improve. If the manager cannot improve the attitudes of those under him, he is not a good manager.
It’s quite amazing to read so many who don’t understand such a 101 of the management. It’s like they have never worked in a real world workplace. There are bad apples but claiming the majority or all of them are bad apples are simply ridiculous and against basic common sense.

We should hire both Simone and Conte we can give Ten Hag one hour and if its not working then bring in the big boys

Then drop them? Sick of reading this after every game. How big of a fool do you have to be to keep playing players who won't listen to you?

Hes dropped AWB, Rashford, Pogba, Shaw, and earlier in the season Bruno.

Injuries have meant he has had to bring some back in and the replacements are poor anyway.

Bar playing the kids (well he brought in Elanga)

If the dressing room is as bad as he says (and we have heard this under both Jose and Ole) its not the best place for young players coming into the first team

At this point multiple managers have said it…

Think Ralf knows he can get away with it cos he's only here for 6 months. I doubt a permanent manager would. Jose tried and it didn't get him too far.

They haven’t given him the time of day, I’d say it’s some-what warrented.

It’s up to ETH to deal with the issues that Ralf has highlighted and hopefully ETH will weild the axe on underperforming players

Rangnick has done a cracking job at taking absolutely no responsibility for results or the state of the squad under him. It’s actually quite impressive.

These players don't give a shit about the club or the fans and don't bother to fight for them. A manager losing such kind of players is a bonus. If the players are toxic and don't care, slaughter them then sell their arses.

These players has given nothing for the team to care about keeping them or caring about their feeling.

If Ten Hag falls with the players, there should be only one winner here.

He hasn't really been choosing Telles over Shaw. Shaw's been injured, had covid or was suspended for almost the entire time Ralf has been here, but the only time that he was fit he was first choice.

Dalot comfortably outperformed AWB in the early part of Ralf's reign. He certainly wasn't great, but he was better than AWB was playing. It's been much closer the last couple of months, but it's not like AWB has grabbed the opportunities when Rangnick has given him the chance.

Fair enough on Shaw to a pretty strong degree, I dont agree on DAlot though, really didnt udnerstand some of the praise he was getting on here and still gets, some media actually praised his perfomance today (of coruse adding stats, sick of them), he was dreadful bar hittign the woodwork and did very very little in my opinion anyway earlier in the season. He ant tacklem he cant cross consistently, his passing ISNT progressive, he cane with a lot of hype...mind you some so did Telles from many, neither are good enough as competent squad members, let alone competition for a starting berth, even in this current shite show

How is that his fault exactly? He wasn't allowed to get any players that he may have wanted to bring in.

Read the first sentence and yet another one who just doesn’t get it. If he was only here to secure top 4 as an interim then why has he been offered a consultancy role. His role is much greater than just getting us top 4, it’s giving a fair assessment of the squad for the next manager and the board. He’s honest, no bullshit and it’s what is sorely needed long term over just securing top 4, which only serves the owners.

Ugh, come on.

Live in a real world, mate! However much we might not like it, the only winner in that scenario will always be the players.

Because they’re all playing shit, have zero confidence, zero motivation, and don’t know what they’re doing. But yeah, he’s only the manager, how could he possibly take responsibility for any of that

Not when these players have failed the club for a long time. When it happens to other clubs, their squad actually won things under the other managers and have benefit of doubt. Our lot ? They don't give a shit about fans or the club in general.

There's no really a player in Man United who's not sellable.

Do people actually still believe these bollocks stories containing in depth conversations between at most 3 people which just so conveniently say a bunch of shit people already believe on the internet? Gary Neville said the club was broken 3 days ago…so in that time Ragnick has been on the blower to Arnold saying he totally agrees with what G Nev said on TV and then one of them has leaked this fact to Steve sodding Bates of all people who hasn’t had a United story since Lucas fecking Moura turned us down.
