Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

I hope he's making the players work like mules in the training ground this past week.

Mental workout would be good. Bunch of video analysis, freeze frame on a particular situation in transitions and ask where each player is supposed to go in that situation.

The wind has well and truly been taken out of Ralf's sails. You'd think the club could release a few more instagram posts to let us know what's happening.

Hopefully, when he and United come back to playing, they will regain the bit of momentum they had. Things weren't pretty, but there was a way forward.

What do you mean? Why would we willingly post the confidential strategies and secret planning we have in our training sessions online?

0-5 OT drumming by Liverpool, City taking it easy for last twenty minutes of a 0-2 home loss... think we are already in the shit don't you?

I think it's more that we are somewhere between "in the shit" and "aspiring champions"

Quite where we are in that range remains to be determined and that will take several matches (Covid permitting)

Have not been following football for 2 weeks since our last match got postponed. So what has happened with the club which merits this gloomy post?

haha I never knew the term "the winds been taken out of Ralf's sails" was too harsh!

Look at it another way without football and the training it's given Ralph time to concentrate on the other side of his experience. Team building. Who to let leave, who to buy in and who to promote. He may be interviewing more backroom staff as well. He won't be sitting there twiddling his thumbs.

Yes that's what I also think. He would have definitely used this time positively.

I'm pretty sure he's also been sending videos to all players how to improve their game and how to adjust their game to 4-2-2-2. The players should know what Ralf wants so they can start doing it in training straight away.

Absolutely, I'd even say he welcomed this break in fixtures, with new coaches just through the door and transfer window imminent it could be a great advantage.

It has given him a chance to assess the squad and decide who will be in his team going forward. No point in playing guys who are on their way, might aswell play a team that can grow thoughout this season and into next.

I'd rather the opposite and he finds a system that suits the players not the other way around

This will be inevitable in the short term, with planning for the longer term and potential new signings.

It was the same argument when Conte was in the picture Oles sacking. Folk were on about how he has a system but we don't have the personnel.

Yet when you look at the history of likes of Conte and even RR they do set up to get the best out of players they have. Eventually moving into a system they prefer. Sometimes they don't as what they have works best. So they adapt.

Ralf has identified weaknesses in the squad already and is implementing a style that overcomes those. I'm not sure 6 months will be enough to completely change the style of play so of anything it will be with a view to stabilising, getting rid of the weaknesses and planning for the future.

he comes across a very intelligent man and he would play based on current players strength than immposing something they cant do it.

I hope the 4222 is to build defensive stability before moving the likes of Sancho and Bruno back to areas where they excel in

Nah you were just trying to be a whinny feck hoping people will back you to bash the club. Now people made you realized how stupid your post was, all of a sudden it’s all fun and games

200 posts in 10 years and you choose to reply to my tame post! :nervous: No need to insult anyone either, you can debate?

What's stupid about my post...

First game = I was interested
Second game = kids/youth so it was somewhat forgettable
Third game = terrible as bad as Ole's last few months

I was looking forward to the next match...cancelled! shame
and the next...cancelled! double shame

Now the excitement has been replaced with When/If they will play next, are they even training...hence the wind has been taken out of the sails and wanted the club to let us know what happening.

Sorry if I came off insulting, my bad.
I usually just browse through all these years but some post were ridiculous not to reply to in the last few months. Not your posts but other people’s posts during the Ole era.

I understand where you are coming from now

Many of us wanted Ole gone in the international break prior to the Watford debacle. We have in a weird way got our break, most of the squad would have been on intl duty and unreachable then, at least he can call them and has had some time with them. Ralf could turn this into an advantage. I am hoping of course most of our squat had no major symptoms and are ready for Newcastle. That easy on paper run of fixtures is still ahead of us.

Crucially gets us closer to Jan transfer window as well. Haidara rumours are strong.

The wind has been taken out of Ralfs sails…

Modern football fans summed up in one sentence
Little bit over-reactive no?
Nothing wrong with the idea there was a lot of buzz around Ralf coming in and you’d have thought United would have wanted to keep that going instead of going quiet. Of course it’s probably helped him get on with things behind the scenes, talk to his new staff, analyze the good and bad, get some stuff across to the players. No harm in having a little bit of a window to that though to keep fans excited.

So, with a bit of luck we'll be ready for 2 matches next week. Newcastle - who still seem to be finding it tough to step up a gear under new management and Burnley - 2 draws and a loss in their last 3

What does he plan to have for Xmas dinner? mince pie? apfelstruddel? kebabs?
