Just sell him already, how is this making anyone look good?

Its not making Liverpool look bad. In fact quite the opposite, so much so its uniting both clubs' fans in their derision of this player.

Would I sell to Utd? I said hell yeah weeks ago and I'd offer to drive him there. Hopefully the owners think the same. LvG wouldn't touch him with a barge pole though quite rightly.

I'm curious as to why City don't offer what pool want. It doesn't make much sense. Pool have quoted a price. Would they lower it because of bad behavior? I don't think Liverpool would. So i'm wondering if United are interested still. I don't know. I think there's a lot of mischief at play. I think the only way Sterling would ever or could ever play for United would be to move abroad first or create such a mess, that even the Pool fans would be glad he's gone and some would actually be delighted him going United (if he did) since the assumption would be, him and his agent are trouble.

It's terrible for the game but agents are cnuts. The players are immature, but clearly his agent is a tool.

This situation is so bad, i actually feel sorry for Sterling, all this can't be what he wanted. Probably his agent needing the money, Sterling could easily stay with Liverpool, he is very young and have all his good years infront of him, it's unnecessary pressure for a young lad going through this, but all the bridges are burned now so no way turning back.

You'd think Sterling was the first player to use these sort of tactics. It's not pretty but nothing new.

 This is becoming one of the ugliest drawn out transfer requests ever. I can't think of anything worse than this on the top of my head.

Not often United and Liverpool fans agree, but I do here. He's under contract and Liverpool can demand what they want for him, it's him who's coming across badly in this. Liverpool are only doing what we are doing with De Gea.

Eeesh he's really turning the heat up, refusing to go on tour, calling in sick. Big statement, the move will happen though and he probably knows it so he just wants it sooner rather than later. City make another bid or confirm a higher bid and he'll go I think.

And Liverpool will look alright as he's forcing their hand. Only he'll come off badly now.

If I recall correctly, Gallas made an own goal threat. We've seen example of players calling in 'sick' quite often, I read somewhere that even Rojo went on strike last summer to force through a move to us.

When players start going this far, they usually get their move. If not, well it may be a little awkward for Sterling.

i think the sterling camp was pissed when liverpool leaked out they turned down the 100k contract. it's all started from there.

can't comment what's their agenda right now at the moment though.

I nearly hope liverpool keep him for the weekly entertainment and drama he'd bring.

Tbh i think his agent is just bad and sterling is making an arse of forcing a move.

Pray desperately that City will cough up the money Pool wants. Else he is fecked. There are no other buyers for that money.

it doesn't seem to me they are desperate to the shitte move however. it deems to be just an escape route

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this. But I don't remember seeing much people being disgusted about Rojo's antics to get to United. He was so bad he had to apologise to the club. We were all desperate to get in a defender not much cared about his tantrum throwing. Some even condoned it. I'm not saying I condone or don't condone sterling's actions but it's not like this is new and certainly not everyone has a problem with it especially of its a player coming to them.

Its Liverpool and I should laugh ( and I'm laughing ) but on the other hand his behaviour is attrocious and totally disrespectful.
He thinks he'll get a good deal and future club will forget this kind of behaviour of his?

erm...A certain argentinian refused to warm up and play for city, yet he played for them later and found a club.

Thats a problem these days, players like him are/ will get away with anything, no professionalism.

Now there is no other way. Sterling has to clutch at whatever straw he could get.

usually you won't go too far unless this is your dream move. that's the funny thing here.

honestly, i want to see sterling to play for united. am waiting woody to hijack him at the last minute. apparently woody is quite proficient in doing so as shown by the last summer. probably this is the biggest drama of the summer

Kinda wish we'd get involved. Clear we aren't signing any other big players.

If he likes London so much maybe he'd choose us over City.

You don't really need any more big players tbh, your first XI is near enough perfect. Ecen Sterling, who is better than Oscar and Willian probably wouldn't fit in under Mourinho as well as those two.

Because he is Liverpool player we might laugh but it is really poor and unprofessional behaviour from him. It is not as if he is not going to get the transfer, Liverpool are just wanting more money. Till City-Liverpool sort it out, he should behave professionally. It is obviously also impacting his reputation in negative way.

We need one or two first XI quality players. Someone that can take us up a notch.

If all we do is sign a few squadies we may pull a City 2014/15.

The only other position is think about improving at Chelsea would be full back because Ivanovic's crossing isnt very good and even that would be incredibly harsh given how old he's been overall. Would be hard to find an improvement on him.

Heinze when he wanted to join Liverpool
Not really the same. We were happy to let him leave. Sterling was their prized player and had built a lot of hopes around him.

I think because he is young and English it hurts a lot more as well.

He still has 2 years left on his contract and look even with 2 years left how much power that little cnut has,he can afford to refuse tours, train etc. I know this kind of tactics is not anything new but its so unprofessional. To bad Liverpool need to sell him,due him being on 30k per week,i would drop him in reserves next 2 years, give him minimum amount of games needed.

I just think sterlings agent is crap. He should be pushing for a move, he shouldn't need the player to go on strike to get a move.
City being the only club interested in him is pretty poor too.
If mendes was his agent you'd have Valencia and PSG and all sorts bidding for him and he wouldn't be coming off as a stroppy teenager.
A simple 'i want to leave' would probably have done the job (which he probably told them months ago).

I agree with this, you should be aiming for more regardless. Your not on the level of barcelona or whatever so theres still room for improvement.
Griezman would have been a good signing for you (I have no idea how to spell griezzmann.)

City can play this cool now and watch the price drop - no way Sterling can stay at Liverpool now

I hope they do. City wasting money is no fun as they have bottomless pockets, but Liverpool getting sod all for their best asset would be pretty funny.

Clyne was reasonably solid at Southampton, in a team with a very defensive set up. At Liverpool he'll be asked to contribute a lot more in the final third, and will have to improve on his whopping zero assists from last season. He looked average in his limited role, and being asked to do more at 'pool, I fully expect him to be exposed.

Danny Mills mk.II
I assume you're using the same logic to rate Schneiderlin. He won't have Wanyama next to him and Davis in front of him at United.

Kinda weird situation for Liverpool given Sterlings behaviour, but also because they have to give a cut to QPR and only really have one team bidding for him. (and theyve brought in Firminho already so im pretty sure they need around 50m to cover the Firminho signing)

Actually surprised by how much I'm on Sterling's side.

I know his actions now are quite cynical and unprofessional but if I was in his position I'd definitely do the same. He had very fair and logical reasons for wanting to leave Liverpool and the way things have gone since have only driven him further out of the club. If I was him I'd be pissed off and doing everything I could to get out of there asap.

Funny how Liverpool won't pay Sterling the £150,000 per week he wants but values him at £50m?

We offered him £100k+ p/w, which is not bad for a player who's not scored more than 10 goals in a season :wenger: I've never understood the argument that we don't pay him enough to ask for a high fee... What a load of nonsense.

At this point, I just want him gone. He's a very good player with the potential to be great, but his personality is ridiculous and the money we can possibly get for him even moreso outrageous. Not even Suarez acted like this, and he's ten times the player Raheem will probably ever be
