He plays in the same role as Hazard so I don't see him at Chelsea and if he's leaving Liverpool because he doesn't see trophies in their future I can't imagine why he'd go to Arsenal. If he stays in the PL I guess City would be the only destination as Liverpool would never sell to us.

I can't see how he'd fit into either of the Spanish giants right now but Bayern may well fancy him given Ribery is getting on.

Neil Ashton writes that he would even be prepared to turn down 180.000/week. It seems not money related. Maybe he will stay another year and sign for us on a free

I doubt Real would be interested. Bayern might be interested but, they probably would not agree to his wage demands. Manchester United would be a no go. City would be the most logical destination but, I could see Arsenal and even PSG also trying to sign him.

I can really see him going to Bayern. In some ways, it would be good to get some more English talents going abroad and doing well. On the other hand I don't like the idea of Bayern getting it into their heads that they can take young talent from the PL easily.

I can see him going to City. They will have to buy English players to plug their homegrown quota.

I hope Liverpool lose him. He's the only player that can take that team to another level when reaching his potential. Honestly speaking, I don't mind a direct swap with Di Maria.

Di Maria is on a different planet.

If he's on 35k and rejected 100k or more, I don't think it's about the money. He probably wants to leave, or maybe wait and see if Liverpool get in the CL?

I dont see why it would matter if they qualify or not. People always say top players want to be in the Champions League, but what they really mean is top players want to be in with a chance of winning, not just turn up as an also ran in the group stages. I really cant see him staying.

Would be pretty amazing. I rate him very highly.

The club have said contract talk is on hold until the summer, time will tell if this latest 'story' has any foundation.
Wait and see I guess.

Sterling's a brilliant talent obviously, but anyone else agree that Oxlade-Chamberlain is an even better talent? Injuries are his problem though, but if I had a choice between the two I'd take the Ox.

City want De Bruyne, don't they? If they get him, not sure where Sterling would fit in.

Not at all. Ox is a pretty good talent, but he hasn't kicked on the way Sterling did. Sterling is also 2 years younger, I believe, and Ox is prone to the odd injury. Sterling was golden boy, after all.

I agree. But it think most at Arsenal are injury prone! Its tough to decide between the two. I like what Ox can do when on form but i think when Sterling is on form he's lightning quick and almost unplayable.

Tough one but sterling by a hair.

If Figo can make the move so can Raheem. He knows it makes sense!!! Sterling#11.

Injuries aside (which granted, are an important factor) I'd much prefer Oxlade-Chamberlain.

I agree with you here. It feels like Ox has stalled a bit in his development.

Sterling is rapid and one of the best young players in the world in my opinion. But like most players he has ambitions and I think he will want to leave Liverpool if they don't qualify for the Champions League - which they hopefully don't.

Seeing all these big clubs touted out as possible destinations; is he really good enough? Sorry, I don't see what is so special about him. In order for him to advance to the upper echelons of European football then surely he needs to start getting seasons behind him like Suarez last year and Bale the year before. To me he's been utterly piss poor this year, almost laughable at times.

Mate he's 20-21... What are you talking about. He's already more advanced than his piers.

They won't sell him to us not after we stood firm on Heinze and Sterling is 10x the player Heinze was.

Our best chance is to hope he runs his contract down and sign him on a free.

Luis Enrique too? This United Liverpool thing can't go on forever lol.
How could i forget the manager of my club in all this? Ronald Koeman played for and managed Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV the three great rivals of Dutch football.

Sorry, I don't see the big fuss. Of course he'll come good but I haven't seen anything that warrants all this talk.

Raheem Sterling will not discuss his future at Liverpool until the end of the season, according to Sky sources.

A source close to the England forward says any talks over a new deal are on hold until the summer but insists the 20-year-old remains '100 per cent committed to the club'.

Sterling's contract runs out at the end of next season and earlier this month, manager Brendan Rodgers said Anfield would be the best place for the Jamaica-born winger to further his career.

Thought he had two years left?

To be fair to the lad he's 20 years old. 6 and 8 years young than both of them.

At 20 Bale was second choice to Ekotto at Spurs and hadn't reached anything close to the heights Sterling has, it wasn't until a couple of seasons later he turned it up a notch.

Suarez had just signed for Ajax and was no where near his level.

I understand he has great potential; all I'm saying is - and I probably wasn't clear really - is I haven't seen him produce anything of note to be mentioned with a move to Bayern, Barca or Madrid. I'm a shite football observer so I accept being wrong on most occasions, especially on a football forum but it's just my view.

You've been reading too much tabloid crap. Kid is good and has great potential, but you all seem to be getting carried away with the overrating.

I assume a big chunk of that is relishing his move and resulting scouse misery. Right?

Completely understand his need to hold out for a larger hike. He has a family to support.

I would take him here in heartbeat. If he is turning down big money at Liverpool then it means one of two things;
1) He is a greedy fecker.
2) He is unhappy/wants a move.

I am inclined to think the latter, with Liverpool not likely to win anything, and Rodgers bizarre playing of him out of position constantly.

If it is the former and he genuinely thinks he should be on more than £180k/week then he has some issues.

Ian Wright: "Come on Arsenal! Go in and Raheem Sterling from Liverpool and play him where he wants!"

Maybe money and CL football next season aren't the main factors for a new contract.....maybe it's a main position.
