Sign him up. Cant see it happening but I would like to see him here. He will go to Chelsea or Arsenal though.

Neither do I, he's surprised me a lot. Once you cut through all the phlegm he's pretty decent. Calling him a knob is so disrespectful, this is fecking excellent.
To the RAWK thread!!!

Where did he suggest City or Chelsea as his likely destination? The comments about not moving abroad?
United mus have a great chance of signing him if he's kicking up this sort of fuss.

Brilliant:lol:

Is it just me is the agent absolutely spot on about everything he says?

This whole "terribly advised" thing is a load of bollocks. Sterling is not an impressionable boy to be manipulated by an agent. He knows what he wants and the agent is doing his job. I'm not surprised he's had go at all the LFC legends for talking rubbish.

, it's undoubtedly funny! But imagine if that was De Gea's agent?

With this outburst from the agent I'm more inclined to believe that the United rumours were made up by Pools owner's than genuine interest from United.

Yeah I’m with Sarni on this one. That’s why I wanted Liverpool out of top 4 (instead of City), now they won’t be able to bring quality players even if they get loads of cash.

IMO Sterling is definitely better fit for van Gaal. Bale will face the same problems as Di Maria (although he’s a better winger). Sterling is the man I want, can play comfortably in any attacking position and his strengths are close control and agility instead of power and pace, which won’t be as important if we continue playing like we do.

I do agree that bale isn't a good fit for our current style but the gulf in quality between him and sterling is too much.

To be honest, I'm trying to look at it from Sterling and his agent's perspective. And I do think agents get a rough deal of it.

Sterling has been labeled as a money grabber despite stating clearly it was about trophies. His agent gets accused by a load knobhead ex scouse cretins about how he's terribly advised Sterling when he's just following his client's wishes of wanting to leave the club. I don't blame him for getting annoyed by the constant character assassination.

The agent quotes are hilarious  he sounds like a right despicable bastard. What did he expect?

I think pool leaking to the press his refusal to sign up has really rubbed sterling the wrong way. It's to be expected too, they basically branded him a money grabbing cnut by doing this. The likes of carragher have proceeded to blame him and his agent rather than saying that all of this should have been handled in house.

One can always trust pool to feck things up, good times.

Edit: just saw your next post. You basically posted what I did :(

I'd find it very hard to believe we aren't interested. Liverpool player or not.

He went too far calling Carragher a knob, but this agent is clearly not in the business of winning fans.

However, Carragher's comments were very condescending.

For a 20-year-old kid to be taking on Liverpool Football Club over a contract, to the pit of my stomach that just winds me up, it angers me,”

He's talking shite. Sterling is perfectly entitled to be unsettled at Liverpool, and want a better deal or even better, a new club.

The club is treading water, if not going backwards. They're averaging one year in the CL in every 5 or 6 (and getting embarrassed when they get in). Sterling's own development is being stunted, by being surrounded by dross and working under what increasingly looks like the emperor's new clothes of management.

He'll get lots of top level game time at a CL club, and that's what he needs to progress.

 Bloody hell, this escalated quickly!
Jonathan Liew's article is interesting in that it makes the Milner comparison, but to be fair the difference here is that both the club and Sterling's entourage have made absolutely certain that the whole story would be in the press, with every unsavoury detail. Other than Liverpool fans, I don't think anyone would blame him for seeking a higher salary/a more competitive club, but it has been far more public than most other transfer/salary sagas.

his agent is after a payday and can feck off. Hate agents.

I don't understand posts like these. Do you really believe Liverpool is the best place to be for sterling even if you simply focus on the footballing side of things and leave wages aside?

Totally agree.

Liverpool started this by telling the press that they'd offered him a deal that was a "lot of money for a young lad". Why on earth would you bring this out inot the open - other than to try and bully him into signing? As a "young lad" he's been one of their best players - and a damn sight better than a lof of other players on more money and with more experience. Its patronising and I;d be pissed off if I were him.

He was the "best young player in Europe" last year according to Brendan, and now he wants to be paid what the best young players are on elsewhere - or go to a club playing in the CL he's suddenly (according to a lot of the usual ex-Liverpool faces) not good enough.

Horribly handled by the club and Sterling is much smarter than alot of people give him credit for.

Agents do what they're paid to do. They're a product of a game where clubs can generate mega-millions from TV deals, matchday revenue's and shirt sales all on the back of what players do on the pitch.

The players need representation to ensure they're getting their fair share. Whichever way you cut it up they're a neccessary evil.

I'd stop short of saying poor agents, because they often can be quite the menace, but I think you are right on this one. The ex-players of Liverpool really make things worse and calling Carragher out like this should have been done long before.

There really is something in the water in that city

Liverpool: the gift that keeps on giving.

Expect the team to warm up for their final game of the season wearing 'Carragher is not a knob' T-shirts.

This had to be an off the record discussion that was made public. Hence the denial from the agent.
Hilarious stuff this morning

Has anyone in the media, or any ex-Liverpool player, actually given a legitimate reason for Sterling to sign a new contract?
