Bloody hell that's bad... can't believe they booed him.....you can disagree with how he's gone about things but to boo him?

Ever since that Moyes statue appeared they have been jinxed.

Gerrard slipped.
Crystanbul.
Suarez goes mental at the WC and then leaves.
Sanchez turns them down.
They buy a load of players with the Suarez cash and they haven't performed. Some have been a complete disaster like Balotelli.
They couldn't even get out of their CL group.
Gerrard gets sent off after 38 sec in his final game V us for a stamp on Herrera. The game that really set us on our way to confirming top 4.
Aston Villa beat them in the FA cup semi and ruin Gerrards dream of the FA cup final being his last game.
Crystal Palace beat them in Gerrards final game at Anfield.
Sterling hands in a transfer request.

Theres absolutely no place for loyalty in the modern game, and thats due to fans, not players.

Fans are hypocrites. As long as its going well, players are loved. As soon as they hit a bad patch, fans want players sacked, sold and dropped. This is meant to be completely fine, but the second a player wants out, their loyalty is brought into question? Bit ridiculous.
You're the one who's being utterly ridiculous. van Persie spends 8 years at Arsenal, 6 of them on the treatment table while being supported and having his wages paid by the fans. One good season and he runs his contract down an forks off. And it's all down to the fans??????

Don't forget the stamp on Herrera.

 do you want him back? No?

Please?

He will go to Arsenal or Chelsea IMO. He wants to be back in London and playing in the champions league. I would like him here as I do rate him and think he will be up there with some of the best and very similar to Hazards current level in the coming years. If he goes to Chelsea it will be a scary prospect. If he goes to Arsenal he will just be another good player who plays nice football but never wins anything.

Never gonna happen. Will bet.

Booing is a nice step. I also suggest some death threats. That will make him stay, surely.

He'll probably still start their final match.

Booing their best prospect isn't going to change his mind. They should've got behind him and made him feel wanted. Although, the way the contract fiasco has been handled, I think both the player and club are in the wrong. Liverpool should've protected him more and Sterling should've respected the club more by not making his wishes public.

Booooo
How can Sterling leave when Klopp's coming next season?
Money-Grabber. Putting money ahead of honours.

Get over it. Youre bitter because he actually has a league medal.

RAWK

'Christ. Look at those smuggy, greedy, beady little eyes.

And the way he's holding the trophy that just screams "£100k a week? feck off, I want £300k".

Chilling, portrait of an evil man.'

I was expecting it, to be honest... At least it's not Coutinho!

Cash in for £40m or whatever, bring in Konopylanka on a free, grab a new striker/DM/RB, and I'll be happy.

Coutinho's stock has gone up ten-fold in the past two days. God help him.

Yeah, might not be too disastrous for you. A superb young player obviously, but not as good or important as Suarez was, and definitely someone who you could find a good replacement for. If you invest wisely. Which, knowing some of your transfer dealings...;)

I call it now.
He comes to Bayern.
All the parts come together.
Would love him here.

No. He does not match to Munich. What do we want in Munich with another "golden boy" that already wants to earn much more than he deserves? He is too expansive for somebody from whom you do not know if he can adapt to the system, league, language, country etc. and from who you do not know how he will manage his early success. He did not repeat his debut season...

They big the lad up to be potentially one of the best around and then wonder why he doesn't want to play for their poor excuse of a club.

Now they spit the dummies out that he was never any good anyway and publically insult him. They prob think it will deter others from wanting to leave, it wont

The papers are going to go crazy about this. I know Sterling should have kept his thoughts to himself, but I feel slightly sorry for him...

Footballing wise Sterling at Bayern makes perfect sense. I do not think it will happen because I think they would come to an agreement when it comes to wages. Bayern seems to have a strict wage structure(see Toni Kroos last summer).

not Yet. Real Madrid/Barcelona will eventually come for Coutinho if he continues to improve

He is doing fine in a struggling team. Still very young. And all the "he is greedy" talk is (partly) made up by the media.
Liverpool offered a big new contract. He didnt take it. He wants more then money. CL and trophies. I take a player who wants to earn the fame and the big name.

What's he done?

He turned down a big contract from his own club.:rolleyes:
The media uses him for their "he is greedy" story. He cleary isnt. (BTW I never had any problem with a player wanting as much money as he can get, he and his family have only one career)

Could be a great backup/replacement for Ribery or Robben, he is fast and can get past a player with still loads of potential. I think he would actually be a good buy for your club.

Some points to make about what Carragher & Nev said

a- there are players who make it at top level because of hard work and others whose got some real talent. I am not arguing that Gaz/Jamie didn't deserve to be first teamers with their respective clubs. However, with all due respect, its not as if Real or Barca came knocking at our or Liverpool's doors to have them. Sterling has the potential to attract such interest so really their experience mean very little to Sterling circumstances.

b-United and Liverpool (more United than Liverpool) are in a total different circumstance than what they were when these two gentlemen play. Few years ago it was inconceivable that United would end up outside the top 4. Now its achievement that we're in the top 4. Such circumstances change everything. Players need to be in the CL because that's were the exposure and the money is. So really, they cant expect players not to delay and wait for the club to secure their place in the CL before taking their own decisions. Also lets stop with this Liverpool/Manchester United 'biggest clubs in the world' nonsense. The football world isn't rotating around North England, actually, the three best clubs in the world aren't even British (Real, Barca and Bayern).

Its time clubs and fans adapt to the realities of football. The times of the Paul Scholes and the Ryan Giggs type of players (ie top quality players who would rather earn less to the stick to the club they love rather than leave) are gone and had been gone for quite some time (Scholes and Giggs were exceptions to the rule). Players are just employees now who would look around and see if anyone can offer them a better deal and would only be 'servants of the club' if they have no choice. Hence why we need to stop being so emotional around players and always do what is good for the club. We're a top quality club (not a retiring home for players or a hospital for injury prone one) and our aim is to win honors on a regular basis at all cost. If we stop focusing on that aim than rest assured that players will leave, less top players will join the club and we will go in decline.

Exactly, we have no-one to replace Coutinho. For Sterling's immediate replacement, Ibe has just signed a new £35k a week contract.

£40m is just the opening (rumoured) bid right? I can see us only dealing with clubs that have players we want as straight cash means QPR get a lot of it.

City have a few (Dzeko, Zabaletta mainly + cash), Bayern have a few (Gotze, or whomever else wants to come to the PL). To convince these players to 'take the step down to Liverpool' will be these clubs' problem not ours. We're only holding the fishing rod with the bait on.
