Ofcourse there will, if he's good enough. As long as there is someone willing to pay the obscene money. Like we did for Rio. Real has the money somehow, it's unclear to me where they get their funding.
They are hardly in the need to liquidate their assests yet and panic sell. Consequently they can hold on to him and sell him to the highest bidder and thus pay of more debt. Can't see any reason why they should sell him to you cheap? and you have yet to come with a viable explanation.
You're source is the only one I've heard so far and that deal defies logic. So it made you seem like a bit of a idiot..

I'm not talking about Zidane type prices but they'll certainly get more for him in 5 years then they would now. Also, he's on his way to becoming one of the most marketable stars in Europe, why would Ajax get rid of a money-making machine?

seriously tho, how much is your new stadium going to cost??????
we're lucky, we don't have to redevelop OT, if we did, i doubt we'd be willing to pay big.
RVDV, will cost alot of money... like i said, i can't see u dish out loads of money on one player..
however, feel free to believe you will...if it makes you think liverpool are big boys.
ohhhh yeah i nearly forgot, you're getting cisse(according to softie) n'all next year.... so thats potentially 40mil on two players....... <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Funding for the team and stadium is to be kept seperate according to Parry..
Why are you Mancs getting so wound up with this rumour? All this talk of not having enough cash is daft, we bid 9m for Bowyer and have since sold the likes of Barmby and Wright...we're likely to have a fair chunk on top of that and all..how much is this bloke going to cost?
If we do get him its likely to be announced as done and dusted with no chance of a "bidding war", this is how GH does his business...thank feck

Add to that the board had sanctioned up to £18m for Duff, VdV at the price we've agreed is a steal...

jesus, you really are that dense aren't you?
LITMANEN.
try reading the above word really s-l-o-w-l-y.
it's called a first-option, ahmed. and since we just might have offered enough money to get ajax out of financial trouble in the short-term, why would they hold onto the player and sink themselves into further debt? think about it. just once, really try and think about it.
and as for the big prices, you name 2 clubs, yourselves and madrid. madrid's policy of spending big on 1 world-class player each summer is public knowledge, and since you had no competitors for the purchase of ferdinand, and knew leeds were in financial shite, one can only assume that you paid over the odds.

So, do you have an option to sign him, if so what would the terms be? or a contract like you said, you've offered a fixed amount of money for him and you did so when they signed litmanen from you(have signed him already)?
Which one is it MOM?

like i said, it's called first-option and we've already taken it up. a fee was agreed which liverpool can very comfortably afford, and which is sufficient to ease ajax's money worries for some time. the only aspect to be determined as of now is quite when he will join.
not every club does its transfer negotiations via the press, ahmed.

Hmmm, an option for what? An option to buy him for a fixed sum? Now what would ajax gain on that? Would find it belivable if you'd have an option to buy him for market value, i.e. what some other one offers. It is likely that his market value would increase, why give the option when there is no reason to belive that the price would drop under the price you agreed on (if what you say is true, not paying over the top for him). Can't see Ajax gain despite Litmanen, he was worth 2 m at most, they have a hell of a lot more to gain on competetion for the player.
surely you must understand this?

jesus.
it's got feck all to do with what anyone else *might* offer.
1. ajax agree to give liverpool first option on VDV.
2. liverpool take up option.
3. ajax say "make us a bid".
4. liverpool make bid.
5. ajax say "hmm, that's a good sum, and enough to ease our financial troubles for a while. OK then"
6. liverpool say "thanks".
not that complicated, is it?

I know how it works technically. But as this is your drivel it is obvious that the motive most be questioned..and ajax have't got one in this deal. Nada to gain.
There are different kinds of options as well, but if you don't buy for the market value why the hell have an option and make a bid <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" /> why not just put him on the market and let everybody make a bid?
It is unfortunately clear that you don't know what you are talking about.

apart from enough cash to ease their money worries and an ajax legend back into the fold to appease the fans somewhat.
you appear to have missed those 2 aspects for the 47th time. . .

They're not good enough reasons.
a)Litmanen wanted to leave and would have gone to ajax in a year anyways. They didn't want him at first as well, so seems rather unlikely that they'd give their most promising player for him for a bad price.
b) if you need money, surely you want the most you can get and with this process they would eliminated that possibility.

it makes no sense to YOU, because he's not signing for manyoo plc.
ajax have "maximised the benefits" from THEIR POINT OF VIEW.
every single point you have argued in this thread smacks of naivety, no business sense and a gloryhunter's attitude to transfer dealings.
why did sami hyypia sell for only £2.6M? why did gilberto silva sell for only £4.5M?
BECAUSE THAT WAS ENOUGH MONEY TO GET THEIR CLUB TO PART WITH THEM, I.E. IT EASED THEIR FINANCIAL BURDEN SUFFICIENTLY.
not every club plays the ransom game, ahmed. . .they only do that when "the richest football plc in the world (TM)" come knocking. . .

How is it that one minute Ajax couldn't afford Jari, due to high wages etc, then all of a sudden
overnight that changed?
