Yes, doesn't make the deal that much better..it all depends on the amount of cash you can cough up.
You assume that they are prepared to take a loss just to get a legend back in the line-up. Think this is naive. Everything is about money these days and you don't give it away for the sake of one player.
Anyways, this all remains to be seen. I could bet my apartment on you not having a deal with AJax yet.

Why is Rafael (that's not dutch btw - it's, you guessed it, it's SPANISH) Van Der Vaart, more likely to go to Liverpool, than to Spain. Let's see, his mother is Spanish, he has said if and when he moves abroad, not for 3 or 4 years according to the good Spanish/Dutchman himself, he would prefer to move to Spain. Whatever happens, Ajax would be stupid to sell him anytime soon. Especially if they're looking to emulate their past success. They have a great-looking young squad and they should hold on to him for another 4 to 5 years and then sell him for an obscene price.
