Rafa Benitez | Sacked (Fachts)

What are those about DL?

Financial ones from what I understand.

It's why he hasn't gone already, and why he is hankering after the sack.

He's always moaning this fella. That or forever making excuses for his failures.

It's a weird one, I don't think they'd get a better manager if he walks/they let him go, but 1 win in 10 is pretty fecking shit.

All he does is moan about a lack of funding. He knows the fans will fall for whatever he says so he uses Ashley as a scapegoat and the fans lap it up. He can do no wrong up there most of the time.

They will be dragged into a relegation battle.

They have a horrible team. Possibly the worst in the league.

If Rafa lost at Monopoly, he'd blame the board.

He got a fairly poor squad, but moaning is not how you get results. You need to use what you got and try to make that perform better and not give up.

I don't feel his comment about his players being poor motivate them either. He has failed with Madrids squad as well though so a lot of the problems is due to him.

Nah it’s Rafa making his excuses.

Do they have a worse team than Brighton or Huddersfield? So called champions league level manager can’t organise his team.

He falls out with the board at every club.

Must surely be in big trouble. Lost 7 of their last 8 in the league.

I believe they do. Worse than Brighton definitely.

Newcastle plays a bit too expansive for a newly promoted side with the players they have. Not enough defensive shape and grafters. Huddersfield and Brighton have a decent shape about them and have enough of a scoring threat. No shame for them to soak up pressure and counter or stay wide and whip it in.

Expectations in Newcastle are always too high. FSW has a valid argument about the quality of the squad and Ashley isn't going to give him money in the Jan transfer window. But it's too late in the game to complain when he should have expected this non investment period by Ashley.

Nobody should buy Newcastle at this moment as their value will take a hit if they drop down again.

Has their been a press conference this season where Rafa hasn't spoken about the Jan transfer window or a lack of investment? Every single time he mentions it. Like Carragher said, he either needs to put up with it or leave, simple as!

He knows it's an easy distraction for their poor form because they fans think he is a messiah, bless them! If he keeps mentioning January and the owners, they will forget about how bad they are on the pitch.

Newcastle will never be a force unless they get owned by billionaires without conscience. If the Qatari's had had any nous at all they'd have bought Newcastle not Manchester City. It'll take billions to overcome the weight of burden those 'passionate geordies' burden the club with. The group set to take over look like poor rich folk to me, and a similar cycle of mediocre heartbreak is set to begin in January. If Benitez has got any selfrecockingspect he'll walk.

Qatari's bought PSG, Abu Dhabi owns City.

Rafa always makes excuses and Liverpool fans always make excuses for him.

He ballsed it up at Real Madrid. He is ballsing it up at Newcastle.

Thems the fachts.

Is it possible for a manager to duplicate a performance against the same team within the space of a month? feck are Newcastle doing? Pathetic.

Over the top fat wanker. Gets away with so much because the consensus for some reason is that he is too good to manage Newcastle.

I'm just surprised of his continuous moaning about lack of transfers/money. Does he think he's still managing Madrid or anything ? He doesn't need much money for a midtable team whose only purpose is to stay in the league.

To be fair to him, he keeps getting probed by journos on it. He must be sick of going over it again and again.

He should then refuse to comment on these questions or say anything to close the subject, but I think he just loves to moan about it.

Well he's obviously frustrated about it and who can blame him. It's not like he's being really controversial or anything so it's no big deal. And we don't know what assurances he was given behind the scenes.

I just don't understand what he's supposed to do if he's given more money. Newcastle is a midtable club whose only target is just to stay in the league. He's not managing a big club anymore and he's not a top manager any more. The faster he understands this, the better.

You can’t knock him for wanting more funds. They’ll potentially go down without it. He hasn’t got “mid-table club” resources.

What you say is broadly right but any manager happy with the current position and not wanting more shouldn’t be in a job. He could do a lot better than Newcastle and the owner should understand that.

Their aim is to just stay in the league. They don't need anything farther more. When he got that job that was the aim and it's still.

I don't think any top club will ask for Rafa any time soon. If he leaves them, he'll go to a midtable club with similar ambitions imo.

My point is that he’s not getting “mid table” money. There are mid-table sides spending £20 plus million on players. He evidently believes that either he isn’t getting the resources he was promised, or enough to meet the targets he’s been set. At this time of year the clubs under threat often sack their managers and/or invest and roll the dice to stay up. They’ll often be after the same players. Teams that don’t improve and inject some more quality will be likely to go down.

My opinion, you can’t knock the bloke for wanting a few quid to improve a squad largely made up of championship quality players - especially given the money the club makes just by being in the PL.

If he had moaned about lack of money once or twice in the presser, I wouldn't have cared, but he has been moaning about this in the press since Summer. If he feels the board isn't backing him enough to achieve a mid table position, he either should go tell directly or just leave ?

There are days when I forget why the term 'caftard' was ever formed, thanks for the reminder, last page of this thread.

He’s constantly being asked about it by the press and is trying to force the owners hand to try and get him to release some funds. What makes you think he hasn’t spoken to the board? We don’t know what’s gone on behind the scenes. Given how candid he is with the press I’d be surprised if he hasn’t.

It’s up to him whether he walks, he’s under no obligation too. The fans love him, and largely hate Ashley so the board have to be careful since they’re actively trying to sell the club. If he walks, they’ll odds on to go down with no guarantee of bouncing back and then Ashley is either lumbered with the club or selling at less than the £350 million he’s after now.
