Radamel Falcao | Ducker: Medical passed!

Christ, the state of Arsenals striking options, they should be all up on this but no, Wengers got striker blindness very similar to Ferguson midfield blindness. Bizzare.

If Falcao was to come here then it would mean he would have gone 4 seasons in a row without Champs League, everytime his team qualified he would have left. Remarkable.

City or Arsenal, think Wenger will pull off another of his deadline day surprises if he can, he's a proper deadline day muppett.

RVP out for a few months so blow a huge amount of money on one of the best finishers in world Football? Makes no sense :wenger:

i reckon loan him with option to buy, if he sets the world on fire sign him up and replace 1 of the other lads. Falcao 9 sounds lush.

If it's true about RVP needing a knee op, then I believe it's paramount we replace him! Falcao is the perfect option for that as it would only likely be a 1 year loan deal anyway, and if he bags a lot of goals then we could sign him permanently next summer? He is only 28 so his age is pretty good for a RVP replacement.

Doubt this will happen though, If Wenger was smart, he would be all over Falcao.

More of a blessing for Mata. How ever unlikely it is that we drop the dreaded 352 we could have a fine squad to fill a 4231.

............De Gea
Rafael..Jones..Rojo..Shaw
.......Herrera..Blind
januzaj...Mata....Di Maria
...........Rooney

This formation just works, saw the telegraph advocating too, surely we will go like this very soon.

It would make sense. It just depends how stubborn LVG is with the 3-5-2. It makes no sense that we seem to have adopted this formation to accomodate the trio of RVP, Rooney and Mata and have then made a marquee signing in Di Maria that would compete with Mata within this system. Especially when there are glaring weaknesses elsewhere in the team if we use this system e.g central defence, wing backs, central midfield.

Hopefully common sense prevails.

Feck. Well, actually, I guess it could be a blessing in disguise.

Yea we're desperately short on pace and good as he is it's the one thing RVP lacks. We need to hang on to Wellbeck as he could be just the ticket in a front 3.

I didn't know that, what a bummer, silver lining is Wilson might get a chance or two, or it might force us into 4-3-3.

I for one would be hugely surprised if we didn't switch to a form of 4-3-3 in the coming weeks. Blind in as DM and Herrera Di Maria forming the triangle with Carrick stepping in as and when. It's all pretty much set and LVG certainly has a plan, sadly though the signing of Blind killed my Arturo muppet but we look good formation wise.
Am I right in saying that Rojo won't be able to play until January if we don't sort this work permit shit out before the end of deadline ?

No? Why's that?

Because investing so much money into a transfer and such an established player only to use him as a back-up option for a few months is ridiculous, we'd be better off keeping Hernandez in that case. Rooney regardless of how gash he is currently is most likely undroppable due to his captaincy and RVP may only be out a few months before walking back into the team due to his relationship with LVG

Why don't we just keep Welbeck if RvP is out? There's no need to splurge on Falcao, good as he may be. He's also at a bit of an awkward age (controversy aside).

No I think you're wrong, read something that said it can be sorted outside of the deadline, LvG hopeful anyway he will be available for QPR.

Re the 4-3-3 I hope you're right, for me our defence is now our most vulnerable position player wise, and the 3-5-2 only makes its worse.

Well the good news is we are definitley getting Falcao because he always seems to go to a team that isn't playing CL football and right now we seem to be the only team to fit that criterium. The bad news is that he won't be staying very long as he always leaves as soon as his team qualifies for the CL, or he'll stay here very long in which case we won't be playing CL for a while, which is also bad news ofc.

In fact I think he'll come here and will make us finish 4th at the cost of Arsenal losing out on CL footy and than next year he is going to join Arsenal.

Are we really going to spunk 50m on him or a 20m loan?

Anyway, for the muppet inside

Rooney would like having some pace up front with him. Though 50 million for a 28 is crazy talk... 20m for 2 seasons with a option to sign after maybe

Sounds like they are trying to squeeze a few more mill out of City for him.

 City can't afford him. So much gullible.

Negredo's fee isn't £20m. It's a loan move first and foremost. Counts for nothing to FFP until they make it permanent. Even if it did count, they still wouldn't have near enough to buy Falcao outright (at least £15m short). And if it's a loan move he's almost certain to end up at Real.

Not sure why Arsenal aren't all up in this. They need a striker just as bad as we need a CM. If they get Falcao, our quickly diminishing chances of making Top 4 might truly be over.

we could finally play completely without midfield 5-0-1-4 would be great with 4 strikers up front and fellaini behind, chesting the ball to them.

If Van Persies knee is needing an op that will keep him out for a couple of months it makes some sense. We could still do with another midfielder though
Is there any comfirmation that RVP needs that surgery? I would go for welbeck instead of him anyway and if not welbeck than Wilson, we need some pace and interplay, also press higher the pitch
