They have similar potential. At the end of the day, the fact say Falcao is not better than Negredo in the domestic league. Negredo is also playing in the hardest league in the world.
What fact? Forgetting context, isn't 14 in 22 better than 23 in 49? It's not like Falcao played less games because Monaco's manager thought he was shit.

Falcao in form and fully fit would be devastating in the PL he is deceptively strong and a great finisher.

Please go back and see the ratio of goals to appearances.

Eh...? Ratio of goals to appearances isn't ratio of appearances to goals, which is what you put up there, and the only thing that could explain your post. And that can't be league only, I didn't watch much of the Premiership last season but 49 games is a bit too much, isn't?

Personally think we should be in for him.

We only have top four and FA cup to play for. We don't need him, our issues are far deeper than strikers. Putting the ball in the net is no issues once RvP back into fitness and Rooney picking up some form.

Solid midfield and organized defense is more pressing at the moment.

I agree. But if we sell Chico and Welbeck we are relying on Rooney and RvP, one of which has fitness issues, the other struggles with form, that's not taking into consideration suspensions.

Top strikers are hard to come by, he seems available and we should be after him.

There's Wilson if both Welbeck and Chica sold. Chelsea playing on four fronts and Jose wants/has three strikes.

We only playing in two and I think the kid with Rooney and RvP is enough.

Plus most likely it a loan deal for most clubs, Bar us and Real who could afford him.

I wouldn't be overly upset with that situation because Wilson looks ready and I have a good feeling about him so would be good to get him some game time.

What the feck would City do with him? They've got 4 great strikers. Makes no sense.

No matter which facts you look at that's definitely not the case. Last season they both scored 9 league goals. Falcao scored a goal every 155 minutes compared to Negredo's goal every 192 minutes.

Falcao since moving to Porto in 2009:

104 goals in 139 league games
A goal every 111 minutes
Scored over 20 league goals in 3 separate seasons

Negredo since moving to Sevilla in 2009:

80 goals in 171 league games
A goal every 147 minutes
Scored over 20 league goals once in his career

Negredo only moved to Man city in 13/14, so he played in a Sevilla side that lacked quality/service for him. Only when he played in a quality in Man city did he flourish. Falcao played for the title winners for porto, played for the 3rd best side in la liga in Atletico and then played in Monaco where they do not lack quality.

Yeah, I'm not actually sure where they got that fact from, Falcao's stats across the board are superior in every way...

Negredo scored 9 league goals last year, the second lowest total of his career and the lowest in the top division. Flourished indeed. I think it's fair to say you can guarantee Falcao will hit double figures in his first season.

They definitely don't need him right now but I suspect they're worried about Aguero leaving next year. Or it could just be that they see a top player is available and affordable and they've decided to buy him for that reason alone. A bit like us getting van Persie. I can see Aguero and Falcao having the same issues Rooney and van Persie are having though, so if they really have managed to get Aguero to commit for another few years then bringing in Falcao doesn't seem like the best decision in the long-term.

I have a feeling Arsenal get him tomorrow.

Which will be worse than City getting him probably.

I'm not arsed if City get him. Arsenal signing him would be very bad for the rest of the league though.

We should get him. Room for one more at the table. And Blind needs to work for the title of nicest hair at United.

Word on the street is Monaco and Falcao's agent (guess who) are using us to get a yet unnamed club to bid more. (might be City)

This isn't the sort of deal we should be doing on deadline day, not that we will. We don't need attackers. A centre-back or someone who can play right wingback is what we need.

There is no point in scoring 3 if we let in 4.

It's the obvious play, right? Oh look City, while you hesitate your cross town rivals are jumping ahead in line, you better make a move...

Do not believe it.

It's that obvious.

There was interest from us last summer and in January when there were doubts about the mid to long term future of Rooney and Van Persie.

Only possible way I can see us getting Falcao is if we are getting rid of Van Persie at some point in the near future and getting him before anyone else does. Strange thing is City will have to sell two tomorrow if there interest is definite (to pass fair play). He'll go to the highest bidder, that could be literally anyone.

A loan out for a loan in, would it circumvent FFP, I've heard the loan fee Monaco want is massive.

Not sure, depends when they'd pay the loan fee as if it's a forced option to buy at the end of it like Negredo's to Valencia apparently is, they might find a way round it through that.

I read a 20m fee for the season, with an option to buy, which would be 20m less than buying now, to account for the loan.

The €20m was including his wages though, think the actual loan fee was €8/10m or something so I'd imagine they'd have a bit spare and will probably shift one or two of Sinclair/Richards/Nastasic before tomorrow, on top of Negredo's loan fee.
