Radamel Falcao | Ducker: Medical passed!

This is such a weird deal. Genuinely the weirdest deal I can remember us making

He's an absolute beast. Best goalscorer that isn't called Messi or Ronaldo. We might have good options but we're struggling for goals and this can only improve that.

On a side note, this will be the 5th season in a row for Falcao without CL. He only played there in his first season in Europe.

Surely that doesn't mean United are worried about FFP? Sounds like bullshit to me.

It's been mentioned that it's likely Monaco's side of things. Better for them to receive the Falcao fee next year since they already got the James one this year.

Its bollocks though.

He was lucky, but it was agreed at 3AM this morning. Not 1:40PM yesterday.
he never said it was agreed, he said we'd submitted a bid. Why is it bollocks and why did he get lucky?

No idea what picture that is, PM me if you find it.

this is my formation: I would move Rooney finally to midfield.

De Gea

Rafael---Jones---Blind---Rojo---Shaw

Herrera---Rooney

Mata

Di Maria--- Falcao

Bench: Lindegaard, Evans, Smalling, Fletcher, Carrick, Januzaj, RVP

I cannot see LVG shifting from his formation and I feel given the players we brought in, it seems like the best way to fill all the players in. Only issues is Rooney in CM but given his form as a striker, it has to be something that will happen.

He would be much more likely to switch Rooney and Di Maria, tbh.

That's good. Any French footy followers been watching Monaco. How's he looking?
This is what @kouroux said
You mean since he got back in the preason right ? He's been alright, scored 2 goals in 3 matches at Monaco. His movement and athleticism are still very good. He hasn't hit the same numbers of Ibra last season because his team just doesn't create that many opportunities (still scored 11 goals in 19 matches).

That's what worries with him at Utd, if we don't provide him with chances, it'll be a pointless signing but if we get better as a team and attacking unit, he'll score loads without a doubt.
Saying that he isn't world class anymore is highly premature and borderline stupid. Let's just wait a little.

Going by other posts in this thread, it's Monaco wanting to spread the income from the James and Falcao transfers over two years. That way they have guaranteed income next summer too.

van Gaal did say, earlier, that he sees him as a #9 or 10 and not as a winger. I think we'll see more of Rooney behind or beside Falcao.

But he gave a very big hint that he wants Di Maria for where he played last season, left midfield of a 4-3-3

Falcao is the perfect kind of striker for a 4-3-3

But then once again we have players who dont get their favoured roles, namely Rooney (not best suited to a lone forward and not best suited to playing from the left) and Mata (needs the number 10 role, doesnt play the wide role like he did at Valencia. And even when he did well out there for Valencia, he wasn't a £40 million player. He was just a good one)

Obviously Di Maria and Shaw would be overlapping a huge amount, whoever is left of a 4-3-3 so that player would get a lot of help. And I suspect it'd be Rooney

Because I'm 90% sure he just tweeted that because City were interested and then by complete chance early this morning we became interested.

Tancredi has always been a scatter gun journalist. He speaks on every rumour. That sort of approach always looks like bearing the odd bit of fruit.

Hahahaha I've never seen that!
He's a legit painting. Here's Fergie at the unveiling of it.

No offense to the lad, but the painting is ruined by John Curtis. Not Paul Scholes. Not Ryan Giggs. John friggin' Curtis.

Had a quick peek at rival forums. Arsenal seem to be having the biggest meltdown. Liverpool fans mostly still think we are shit and they are going to win everything anyway. City have locked their forum.

What has happened to the universe in the last 12 hours or so? Is it the impending apocalypse? Things have gotten too crazy. Half expecting to see flying pigs out my window in a minute.

Seems like Woody has adopted this philosophy regarding football:

"When the game is going full retard, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half retard, you´re fecking done for."

Amazing

No need to play anyone out of position on the wing. 4 at the back, Blind at the foot of a diamond with Di Maria and Herrera behind Mata and Falcao and Rooney up top.

It'll be like more of a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 and less like a 4-3-3/4-4-2 like that of Real Madrid last season. Rooney doesn't have the dribbling, pace, and technique needed to play on the left channel, so I doubt we'll see him roam around the left channel enough in this formation.

My feeling tells me we'll play the AZ Alkmaar 4-4-2 with di Maria coming into the middle to help out defensively and going out to the left channel when we're attacking. Rooney will play the Litmanen role behind Falcao, IMO.
