Radamel Falcao | Ducker: Medical passed!

About 6 million loan fee for a year, plus his wages. So under 15 million. Also a buy option for 40 million.

Ah, it's a loan?

Thanks, just saw 'done deal' in title.

Rumours say loan at £6m plus his wages for a year and then option to buy. Seen figures of €55m mentioned for a future fee.

Cheers.

Isn't his agent Jorge Mendes? Which could be why we've been able to strike the deal at a more reasonable fee.
He has as much links to real as he does to us, any deal he offers us, he would have offered them too. I'm inclined to believe Ducker on this and I think united have leaked a lower figure to the papers.

Right then, assuming we stick to the 3-5-2 maybe this could be our team next game.

-------------De Gea-----------
-----Jones--Smalling--Rojo-----
Valencia------------------Shaw
--------Blind----Di Maria-------
------------Mata--------------
------Rooney----Falcao--------

Who the hell thought this time last year that it 1 years time we would be playing with 3 at the back with a team that includes Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata and Radamel Falcao?

Ballague is saying that Falcao's agents are saying it is a permanent deal, maybe on loan this year because of FFP.

If RvP's out for surgery then this is a great bit of business. If he's not, then it's a bit strange but hey, that's why Van Gaal is paid the big bucks. Up to him to keep our three big name strikers happy and motivated.

Can't help feeling a little bit sad that this means Welbeck is entirely surplus to requirements. The departure of him and Cleverley means our next team based mainly on home grown talent looks more remote than ever.
Indeed. Which is why, when the dust settles, I hope we look at revamping the academy.

The difference is that pretty much our entire designated starting midfield got injured to the extent that a 17 year old got a start. While RvP is important, he is, in my eyes, not as important as finally getting a decent midfielder and/or CB (preferrably both). Your attack can compensate RvP, but Falcao can't compensate the lack of defensive stability.
We signed Blind, Rojo and Herrera, definitely an improvement on last seasons, and tbf a midfield 3 of Herrera, Blind and Di Maria while not being close to your or RM's midfield is still better than anything United had in midfield in recent years.

IF RvP is injured and we are loaning Chicharito to RM, and with Rooney on eternal decline, a loan for Falcao is really not out of order.

He's talking out his arse. FFP is of no concern to us we are swimming in revenue.

His wages are apparently €9 million (£7.1m) which would be £13.1 million for the year including wages. I'm not sure is his wages after tax or not, As far as I know there is little tax % in Monoco so his wages could end up being £12-14 million

The plane doesn't land until 16:50 to take him for the medical

So why hasn't the club (like we did for Blind) announce it's done subject to medical - I still think he is being touted around myself and we are the front runners but City might still get back into the mix.

Getting Falcao and Di Maria means more sponsorship deals followed by more revenues.

I finish work at 10 tonight. I hope I get back and this is not the only deal.

Cant see the problem :D

Yeah slight feeling that could be the case too. Don't think this'll be announced by the club till it is all done and dusted completely.

Nothing new in the news with regards to Falcao. Plus, the club hasn't confirmed anything as of yet. It seems as if other clubs may still come in and take Falcao out of our hands (supposedly).

There's nothing clear as of yet. It's all hazy right now.

Eh? It's practically done.

This is crazy! Wonder who we might sign next? Van Gaal did mention Messi a few weeks back...!!!!

I hope City don't turn to Martinez because of this.

We'd get around that by paying a larger loan fee with Monaco covering his wages I think.

I still don't understand this at all.:lol:

But he's a great striker IMO. Adds physicality and more importantly pace upfront which we are lacking with Mata, Rooney and VP upfront.

In theory he suits the prem down to a tee.

Nah reckon it's too late for him to sort a move out now considering he's already off to Miami. Think he's yours for another year at least.
