Falcao shouldn't be named in the same lineup as Young and Fletcher

Ed has just pulled off a bargain. Fair play

Drummer is going to be hilarious.

"We don't spend loads of money on world class players like Madrid do"

*signs Di Maria for £60m*

"We spend too much on world class players"

*Signs Falcao for €10m on loan*

Only RVP came to us after being the best player in the premier league.

Falcao came to us after not being selected for the Columbia team at the world cup, because he's just back from injury and didnt impress them enough with form or fitness?

He wasn't fit enough.

Stick Ed in midfield or as CB. He is proving to be an enforcer!

Please can everyone spend their time until the January window winding Ed up on social media. He obviously takes it to heart and is out to prove a point.

All night i was thinking this is just BS and its a ploy to get other clubs to pay up...Its fecking real. With that everyone is saying about selling/loaning Welbeck and RvP not being 100% fit, i can see the logic in this.

We'll go after every single target Juventus now. They won't be able to table a bid before we tie them up. They'll regret messing with us, oh they will.

It's payback time for Pogba.

Ed will snatch Vidal off them at 10:55pm.

I had no idea we were even in for him, I hadn't even opened this thread for over a week. This has taken me completely by surprise!

I woke up about 10 minutes ago and thought I would check to see if Cleverley has finally gone. Shocked to say the least.

Crap, I thought he came back right at the end of the season trying to get into the world cup squad. Guess that never materialsed.

Sounds good then actually, that reassures me if you think he's physically the same player

In a way it's good news for us, it means he's taken all the rest and has gotten back to a good fitness level.

What a great deal. Hard to think other sides weren't interested in him. Well done Woody

Sounds good.

Revising my opinion then. Crossing my fingers this turns out to be a genius move.

If he's 80-90% of his best, he'll still be one of the top top strikers in world football. At his best he was probably the best.

There are so many different fees being spouted, some even still saying its a transfer not a loan. I don't think the final details of this will come out for a long time.

Ed Woodward is Breaking Bad.

Hard to keep up with all the information, but if the loan fee is really in the region of £6 million then it's a bargain for a world-class player. Good job Woody!
6 million loan fee, plus whatever wages we can agree with him (i think). All in all, less than 15 million for a season, with a buy back option at the end of it.

Couldn't we try and loan Vidal for about £10m with a guarantee to buy him for £40m next year if he plays x-amount of games?

Think that would be a fair clause for all parties.

EPIC!!!!!!!!

It's amazing how much talent we've acquired this transfer window. Granted, strikers aren't our biggest problem, but that doesn't mean we don't need reinforcement in that department. Hernandez seems to be on his way, Welbeck is hit or miss, and Wilson is untested on the big stage. Rooney and RvP need backup, and Falcao on loan seems a brilliant bit of business, if he has a good season we could end up signing him as a direct replacement for RvP who will be heading deeper into his thirties.

Can't wait for the QPR game!

I think he'll reach full fitness after a few week and maybe months but the great thing about him is that he doesn't need to be fully fit to score goals. We just need to have a coherent way of attacking and creating chances. If Falcao was to play with Young/Valencia/Fletcher, he would be a pointless player.

So, if when everyone is fit*, do Rooney , Van Persie and Falcao all play? Will be very interesting to see!

Also, why are Monaco getting rid?

*I know, ridiculous suggestion.

We announce after medical etc and everything has been completed. This is just a fee agreed - medical still not done. It won't be announced until after that.

But Blind was announced subject to personal terms and medical...

I'm still not forgetting how we messed up the Herrera deal last year, when Ballague said the deal was done too.

Was a long time since I saw him play. How is his speed and movement? Wondering since we've looked rather static in attack with RVP, Rooney and Mata. Would he offer something different?

Eh? Wasn't he injured? Or deemed not fit enough?

He ruled himself out due to injury. I think he was testing the knee but it was a month or two too soon. Really Vidal would have been in the same position and chose to play, potentially screwing up his rehab. Hence how fragmented his preseason has been.

I suspect we'd be even worse than we currently are if we tryed to play Rooney, Van Persie and Falcao together. God forbid we put Mata in there too.

It would seem that one of Falcao and Van Persie will play and not together.
