Apparently Madrid turned Falcao down on loan and opted for Chich instead. Also according to Twatter press, he was offered Arsenal or United and he chose United.

So. Let's get this straight. Juve want Chich we send him to Madrid, Juve want Falcao but cannot afford him so we take him instead. Do you think they might be regretting playing hardball with Vidal? a player who obviously wanted to leave as he said feck all to appease the club or fans (until right at the last minute):lol::lol::lol::lol: Now many journos are saying to wait because United haven't finished yet and MAY have more big news to announce in a couple of hours.

The cheese has slid off the deadline day cracker!

What the feck is Wenger thinking? Surely Falcao would've gone there for Champions League football and a guaranteed spot as the main striker. Their loss.

So why didnt we try to get Sanchez, who would have actually made sense to the team?

...

Yeah

Exactly. If we're going after Falcao, surely we could have gone after Sanchez who would have been much more useful to us in a 3-5-2 if we're willing to let go of Welbeck and Chicharito and replace them with one world class addition.

Sign him already ffs and move to the next striker! I am already bored!!

6 million loan fee for Falcao. And we demand 5 million for Welbeck.

I know the wages are determining factor but still.

Would Falcao have made the difference on Saturday? RVPs touch was very poor, so maybe....

We'll go after every single target Juventus now. They won't be able to table a bid before we tie them up. They'll regret messing with us, oh they will.

It is.

Similar situation to RvP, great player who can take us back to the top, but injury prone and not too long left at their peak. Except this time we didn't pay £24m for him on a 4 year deal. Top notch.

Only RVP came to us after being the best player in the premier league.

Falcao came to us after not being selected for the Columbia team at the world cup, because he's just back from injury and didnt impress them enough with form or fitness?

I haven't watched a great deal of him to be honest, so can someone answer me this: Can he play as one of the wide strikers in a 4-3-3? I only ask because I'm struggling to make sense of this deal.

Has there ever been a year for so many high profile loan? Seems like every fecker is going on loan at the moment... (okay not everyone, but this, Hernandez to Madrid, Richards to Fiorentina, others probably on the way)

Knowing our luck hus knees will be fecked, he'll turn out to be 34, and be shit.

Don't understand this deal. Not a player that we particularly need and surely means Welbeck is on the way out (as well as Hernandez). Also raises concerns for our two most promising youth prospects - Januzaj and Wilson.

How good was Falcao after injury last season?

You mean since he got back in the preason right ? He's been alright, scored 2 goals in 3 matches at Monaco. His movement and athleticism are still very good. He hasn't hit the same numbers of Ibra last season because his team just doesn't create that many opportunities (still scored 11 goals in 19 matches).

That's what worries with him at Utd, if we don't provide him with chances, it'll be a pointless signing but if we get better as a team and attacking unit, he'll score loads without a doubt.
Saying that he isn't world class anymore is highly premature and borderline stupid. Let's just wait a little.

Now I really want to see this fecked up team in action, Falcao and all. Damn international break.
Seriously.

We've a home game after the break. Imagine the crowds delight at watching some spanking new signings in Di Maria and Falcao. And Ed knows who else.

FFP is no issue whatsoever for us - it's not about what you spend, it's about living within your means. we have the greatest UEFA-accpeted means in world football.

The year loan with option is presumably to give us time to sell one of RVP / Rooney if everyone is fit at the end of the year.

First & foremost - what an outstanding signing. Absolutely delighted with this..

With LvG trying to off-load Welbeck & Chicharito has just joined Real; that leaves us with Rooney, RvP & Wilson as our Strikers. Keane doesnt look the part at the moment, so he'd be best to go on loan this season.

RvP might have major injury concerns for LvG, as per reports over the weekend, so we'd be light in having out & out Strikers!

CM & CB are the main areas anyway, but this signin might just sway those world class players we need - Vidal & Hummels. We look piss-poor at RB/RWB also - Cuadrado would have been a great signing..

I think you're confusing moaning with jerking off in this case.

Hahaha, have seen quite some people saying we don't need another striker, it doesn't make sense and stuff like that.

It's crazy, isn't it? Falcao would have been perfect for Arsenal, but Wenger seems obsessed with playing Sanchez, Giroud, and Sanogo up front. He's not even trying out Campbell up there!

I had no idea we were even in for him, I hadn't even opened this thread for over a week. This has taken me completely by surprise!

He's a central striker. Worked well with Costa in his last season at Atletico where Costa dropped off more. Here's hoping Rooney + Falcao works better than Rooney + RVP.

Who said that?

Eh? Wasn't he injured? Or deemed not fit enough?

Crap, I thought he came back right at the end of the season trying to get into the world cup squad. Guess that never materialsed.

Sounds good then actually, that reassures me if you think he's physically the same player

Hard to keep up with all the information, but if the loan fee is really in the region of £6 million then it's a bargain for a world-class player. Good job Woody!
