Radamel Falcao | Ducker: Medical passed!

A loan would make sense with Hernandez off, RvP's injury problems and Rooney's poor form. Paying £30+ million seems a bit silly though, 65 million Euros is just bonkers.

Not a muppet transfer at all, was more concerned than happy. It will be hilarious if you buy Falcao and Di Maria for over 110 million and have still ignored the main reasons you havent been doing so well.

You guys class an old out of form striker for 50 million a muppet transfer?
How is 28 old now? I don't want him but come on.

And yes, this is precisely a muppet transfer. Unnecessary, doesn't solve our problems but is a big name for huge money. That is the very definition of muppet transfer.

My mind is literally figuratively being blown by this unraveling. It seems like this actually has legs.

WHY CAN'T WE JUST SIGN THE MIDFIELDERS INSTEAD?!?

--------------DDG-----------
---------Jones---Rojo-------
-------------Blind-----------
-----------Anderson---------
Di Maria ---Januzaj------Welbeck
RVP-------Falcao-------Rooney

For anyone who watched Blind last year at Ajax, can he play in the 1-2-1-1-3-3 formation? Van Gaal's philosophy seems to indicate he could be moving to this?

I thought a muppet transfer was when a world class player that you really want and need is rumoured to join /joins?

I really don't want him.

Sorry, I know how good he is. I know he'd tear the league up at City or whatever, but I don't want us paying €65m for a 28 year old striker when we still need midfield reinforcements.

Haven't read the previous pages, but I assume the point of prefering to spend big on a midfielder has already been made?

Not to mention we have apparently steered clear of our two biggest midfield targets all summer because of knee injuries, then we go and spend over £50m on a striker who has just come back from a cruciate?

Falcao is a class striker - and I think he'd possibly be an improvement on what we have even, but my main issue with this is that I was hoping striker departures would cause us to ditch this dreadful formation - however, Falcao arriving would make that less likely again.

My suspicion is, if this deal goes ahead, like much of our recent footballing activity, the decision has been largely made by our commercial department. We seem to be swinging randomly trying to hang on to this top billing, and signing El Tigre as our new #9 would ensure more spotlight on us.

My other theory is that if this does go through it is merely a romantic gesture to Jorge Mendes as part of the bigger plot of our ongoing romance. Seems Mendes has been struggling to shift Falcao all summer, and we have agreed to save the day in order for God knows what later on.

Or seen as though this muppetry 101. In a 4-2-3-1...
De Gea
Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
Blind Herrera
Januzaj Mata Di Maria
Falcao

Why the feck would Falcao come to us, when there are other clubs after him that can offer Champions League football? Di Maria was understandable, he'd just won it so it's perhaps not so bad for him to wait a while to play in it again. But Falcao must be desperate to win the things soon. I genuinly don't understand this rumour, it's not really in either side's best interest.

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO THINK ABOUT THIS

Guillem Balague says about the reports in Spain: "It seems like he has signed for Manchester United. It's a 4 year deal. His wages are huge, apparently 9 million Euros a year"

I will have my doubts if we do sign him (age, price, necessity) but will now be gutted if we didn't sign him.

Judging by my twitter feed (comprised of journos) it seems like Monaco are just flying him to Manchester, and whoever picks him up first can have him.

 This is beyond crazy, if I had to make a list of most pointless signings we could make at the minute Falcao and Cavani would top the list.

Can't fit two forwards into one line-up? Solution: sign another world class one .
