Radamel Falcao | Ducker: Medical passed!

He's one of the best strikers in world football and I don't want it to happen, that's how ridiculous this signing seems.

The only possible reason I can think of in United signing this guy is that the rumour about RVP undergoing knee op is true.

All the reports I've read recently indicate that RVP will be out for a while.

CONFIRMED. Falcao travels tomorrow to Manchester to sign a contract with a team of that City. Fee €65m

Either we've found a replacement for RVP in less than a week, or Mendes is trying to instigate a bidding war.

Yup, I was just watching this. For some reaosn I had it in my head that he was simply an incredible poacher, but looking back at his goals has proved otherwise.
A lot of people seem to think this, but he's pretty much a better, more acrobatic version of Tevez, style wise.
Really good dribbler and long range shooter. Would be our best striker, provided he's back to his usual self.

We've been doing Mendes favors for a while and he's returned the compliments in good faith, so we could just be doing him a favor in promise that he'd divert some other clients we actually need towards us in the future.

Yep. I bet there's lots of people that think the same. The guy is an absolute world class footballer, nqat. You'd do we'll to find another no.9 on the planet better than him (he's the best IMO). Better than both Rooney and van Persie anyway. Him and di Maria, holy christ.

I never ever get caught up in muppetry, even di Maria who I love as a player and is clearly an unbelievable signing, I was just happy to get, but I can't help get over excited about the prospect of Falcao at United. Nothing better for me than a complete beast goal machine out and out centre forward.

Falcao, United's no.9

Watching that video i was sure he was left footed. Turns out he's right footed. So good with left foot it's almost unbelievable.
I was just going to post whether he was left footed, while watching that video. Then there was a flurry of cracking right footed goals. The amazing thing if he's right footed, is the number of times he pulled back from the right foot to take a shot on the left foot. Brilliant.

Erm, that just says he's flying to Manchester to sign for a team in the City, it doesn't mention United, I am starting to wonder if there is a mix up as many times people outside of the UK just refer to us as Manchester.

People outside the UK usually refer to United as Manchester because City wasn't a well known team until a few years ago. But you're right in that it doesn't specify United, though given the above Instagram photo and a few Colombian journalists' tweets, it would appear that it is indeed United.

Other South American journos have clearly stated that it's United so I believe that's what this particular one refers to.

No the initial tweets clearly said that though City were interested, they can't sign him due to ffp and specifically mentioned us signing him instead.

I hope you guys are right, I've foolishly allowed myself to get excited by this despite it seeming such an illogical transfer.

I'd imagine City are frantically trying to offload Negredo and whether they go in for Falcao would depend on that transfer. If United are serious about this, they have to move quick and tie up the deal before City can sell Negredo.

Even his scrappier goals are so aesthetically pleasing.

What's going on with Monaco? I thought they had designs on being the next PSG, but they're selling everyone they bought for huge money after only a year?

Indeed. Would also be spectacularly beautiful if City sold Negredo to make way for Falcao but we still end up signing him.

This is madness.why aren't we going for a midfielder instead? Where is the need for us to sign falcao when we have other issues that might need solving.

The owner is Ukrainian I think, so his net worth is probably falling and he probably has other things to worry about. Also read that he lost about 2 billion in a divorce settlement.

Wait, is this actually happening?

Everything I've read is that we have turned the chance down, would have thought it'd be for City.

Plus, even if RVP is out for a while, I wouldn't have thought it's a striker that is top of the priority list, if we are spending 65mil on a player it really needs to be a central midfielder I would have thought.

I'm very confused.

He's 29 in February.
Just back from a pretty bad injury.
One of the most expensive strikers in world football - 60M ffs!
We have more worrying concerns than a striker.
I thought playing with 2 strikers was a short term thing.

This would be very short term thinking considering the age of him, Rooney and van Persie. It'd make 10x more sense to sign a young, pacey talented striker (Welbeck)...or basically a composed version of Welbeck.

He meets our key criterion: left footer.

Next Transfer window we will buy exclusively right footers.

It was never about formations.

Bet Gills had the word Bebe tattooed on mendes' signature hand as a subtle reminder.

The rumours about RvP needing a surgery must be true if we are signing him. I think a loan deal with an option to make it permanent would've made more sense personally.

But anyway all aboard the Muppet train.

You can't make this shit up :lol:

“Falcao to Manchester United for €65 million euros, for 4 seasons. City can’t sign him due to Financial Fair Play.

“In the coming hours, Falcao will officially join Manchester United, after the deal is finalised he’ll travel tomorrow [to Manchester] and later undergo his medical.”

Manchester United is expected to announce the deal in the coming hours, with Falcao flying to Manchester on Monday morning and undergoing his standard medical later that afternoon, where he will then be confirmed and presented as the newest member of Louis Van Gaal’s squad.
