Queen Elizabeth II | 1926-2022 | Rest in Peace

you'll enjoy wiseman's work if you find this interesting. i'd begin with city hall or ex libris if you haven't gone through his stuff before because they're easily the most accessible of his films. but all of his films are great and national gallery captures this kind of crowd moving theme particularly well. the people in wiseman's documentaries are moving through buildings that have a functional use to them, generally being the living organs of a society, but a similar sort of thing.
Thanks man,

Will give them a look.

what a sick man. we’re planning on doing just fine this winter, heating our home on nothing more than gratitude for our betters and thanks and mourning for the queen. yes, i think we’ll be rather toasty, in fact, rather toasty indeed.

in a few short years our long term brain injuries will be seen as a mark of honour and all non-marked individuals, who simply didn’t mourn hard enough, will be rounded up by prince charles and forced into the navy.

Imagine Beckham's disappointment when he finally got to the front of that queue and discovered that Brian May and the gang were nowhere to be seen.

@TheReligion likes this post.

You and @Conor are a little bit obsessed by me.

I think I like it though.

Wouldn’t it have been better if we celebrated the late Queens life instead of it being forced upon us to mourn it?

Is there an official list of all the things that have been labelled as 'dignified' on the news anywhere? I heard The Mall described as 'such a dignified road' the other day.

It's caused divisions where there were none, all totally unnecessary, so badly handled.

Its quite morbid in all honesty.

Parading her late majesty around like a trophy so people can say “I was there the day the Queens (dead corpse) came through our town”

Is she still dead?
Elizabeth had a pretty eventful plot. Elizabeth II was a bit of a slow burner but picked up at the end with the pandemic. I'd like to see Elizabeth III as we've been left hanging a bit with the potential for WW3.

Need to think bigger. Turn her into a drone. Don't announce it either.
You're in line with your kids Timothy and Rosalind, when upon hearing a noise you look up, just to be graced with the sight of our dearly departed queen zooming through the sky. I'm sure it'd be possible to get a set up where the cadaver waves its arms too (as in a greeting wave, not like flapping her arms to simulate flying, I don't want this to descend into something comical), so I think this would be a very touching and impactful way for us to say our goodbyes.

Interesting thread

While I agree it's an interesting thread, wouldn't the likes of Italy at the time of the quote point to a different conclusion? I'm no expert on the Italian monarchy, so there could well be something I'm missing.

What do you think all those people who have waited all night to que up to see the coffin are doing.
And the TV programmes have been showing all of her life from many different perspectives.

"a press release that was shared on the day of Camilla's 2005 engagement to Prince Charles said, "It is intended that Mrs. Parker Bowles should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales accedes to The Throne.""

So it's Princess Consort Camilla?

No, the plan changed a year or so ago. The Queen said that she wanted Camilla to be called Queen Consort. She'll just be called Queen Camilla, although as the wife of a King she is Queen Consort..

Got sentimental in her 90s, eh? Big softie.

Tbh the guy wrote a book about talking animals. :wenger:

Wouldn’t pay too much attention to what he said about politics.
