A protracted 14 day affair with all sorts of archaic traditions, lying in state, the queue, motorcades, flying the body here there and everywhere is a nonsense charade.

They should have buried her ages ago instead of wasting everyone's time. Now they've got her cold dead body doing the rounds in London.

I mean, we're in the middle of a cost of living crisis, energy crisis, entering a recession, with a bleak economic outlook until 2024 at least.

What a waste of time and money. feck the Royal Family - hope they're abolished in my lifetime.

I think it’s actually the opposite tbh looking at this thread. The paranoia and weird behaviour is from those who want to keep coming here to tell everyone how fewer people are interested and how awful it all is.

This is ridiculous. How can people be watching it, even if they were brainwashed into watching it, during a normal working day. Why would they be watching it? Why wouldn't they watch something else. Why is everyone obsessed with the Queens' funeral?

Nothing to do with paranoia Paul.
It is just that she was and to many still is one of the most highly respected woman in world over the last couple of generations. And as such, she deserves all of the pomp and ceremony that goes with a state funeral. It is after all just one day in 70 years of her reign as the Queen of the UK and Commonwealth.

Nobody said no-one is watching it. I said a few grannies in France may be watching it on daytime TV; Nobody else is watching daytime TV, whether it's the Queens Funeral or the daily quiz show.

You have some flag shaggers who want to watch it out of some weird misplaced love for the Queen, and 'what she's done for this nation' but when you ask them 'what she's done' they're strangely unable to articulate it.

You have another group who watch it as they want to be a part and 'see' history in real time.

You have another group who literally have nothing else to do and will watch because everyone else is, and there's nothing else on.

You have another group who aren't watching.

I think that covers it to be honest.
