If they hadn't, you don't think Tom would have said something to another outlet? I fecking hate the guy and don't like that they gave him the platform either, but there are a lot of questions about censorship going on right now so I can see why they felt they had to. If nothing else, gives dems ammo if they choose to use it.Wtf is the NYT doing publishing that piece of shits “opinion piece”?!

right on comrade Philby.hypocrite? Ok David.
He had already publicly called for the 101st Airborne to be called in and for them to give no quarter. He didn’t need another platform and shouldn’t have gotten one.If they hadn't, you don't think Tom would have said something to another outlet? Who are they going to blame if we get a second wave ?The size of that London protest... seems like less than half even bothering with masks. Genius.
Good luck protesting Covid brutality.
This makes you think. Nine fingers left for me.
right on comrade Philby.
The New York Times disgraces itself:
I don't advocate for racists, though you probably do professionally. You assume a lot about people. Guess that ties in with the advocating for racists.

White people get let off with warnings / slaps on the wrist for things more often.Think I've got 2 left, didn't quite understand the citation question
At least I'm consistent in my public and private stance.I guess you’re consistent in talking unmitigated nonsense. That’s one thing

yeah, and tried to walk it back and give a softer version of what he thought no quarter meant. He is a fecking piece of shit, ex-military, he knew exactly what he was saying. And I won't fight you in that I am not thrilled that NYT published it. But, I also understand why they chose not to refuse a United States senator's request to add his opinion to all the others. Can you imagine what Fox and Breitbart et al would do with that?He had already publicly called for the 101st Airborne to be called in and for them to give no quarter. Police brutality or not one death is unacceptable. And all these protests are going to result in a spike in deaths. I as a parent in the uk worry about that primarily. I've read every post on here it's taken me a few days and I'm disgusted at America and trump, but I wish we could take a temporary step back and see that at the moment we have a pandemic here which is very precipitous. The size of that London protest... seems like less than half even bothering with masks. Genius.
Good luck protesting Covid brutality.
Covid 19 doesnt care who we blame.Who are they going to blame if we get a second wave ?
Seems like its kicking off in London into the night.
I can't believe there have been no replies to these tweets, were in the middle of the pandemic and these people are starting a riot and trying to goad the police into doing something, disgusting behaviour.Good stuff. Our prime minister needs to directly condemn/challenge Trump. They can’t stand by and watch as the US govt behaves like a dictatorship.
If Trump gets in again you can only fear the worst for America.
Denial?
I think it's more about the issues in the UK now than it is about the issues in the US.I can't believe there have been no replies to these tweets, were in the middle of the pandemic and these people are starting a riot and trying to goad the police into doing something, disgusting behaviour.
I have no comments in what's going on in America as it's not really my business as I live on the other side of the Atlantic as do all these on this video, what are they going to prove by rioting over here ?
He's no longer a cop FYI.
Anyway the fact he has been with that very tattoo is quite unbelievable. In the UK you have to declare any tattoos and they are assessed during the vetting process. If you get them post joining and they are going to be in a visible place you again have to ask before hand and have it approved.
You follow this guy.
NFT.
Racism is a worldwide problem and I think this one is hitting home with people everywhere. Why can't right now be the time we start to fix it? Everywhere. No one sitting this one out while others do the work.I can't believe there have been no replies to these tweets, were in the middle of the pandemic and these people are starting a riot and trying to goad the police into doing something, disgusting behaviour.

All this speaks of paranoia and, that apparently dread thing, 'politicising events'. Oh, and the obligatory overkill.Guardian said:In Washington DC, personnel from the National Guard, US Park Police, Secret Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, US Marshals Service, Bureau of Prisons, Customs and Border Protection, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement are all out patrolling the streets.
You've gone from that quirky food guy to redcafe's Milkshake Duck within about five posts. At least I'm consistent in my public and private stance.
Racism is definitely a world wide issue. But so is covid 19. And its killing us all, so maybe now isnt the time to get together in huge numbers. Another spike is coming and the deaths in their thousands will be indiscriminate.Racism is a worldwide problem and I think this one is hitting home with people everywhere. Why can't right now be the time we start to fix it? Everywhere. No one sitting this one out while others do the work.
And, I keep seeing a lot of people say "riots". We are seeing flare ups and opportunists causing damage, not riots. Yet. Wait until these four officers get off on a technicality, then you will see riots.
There is no police handbook which permits the police to use the same force against the white man Tony Timpa either. It's nothing more than a bold assumption to say race is the motivation here. It's quite obvious, you don't have to be Chauvin himself to see the motivation.
Which police handbook advises to withdraw a gun out on a person suspected of using a forged $20 bank note? You're failing to grasp the concept of racial profiling here.
Don't know if this was posted yet:
You alright mate?Is David Vance your dad?

The New York Times disgraces itself:
The repercussions don’t rest solely with the “persecuted community”. If cases spike, it’s going to affect virtually everyone. I don’t get how you seem to be placing maximum sanctity on protecting human life, which you see as under threat by police brutality and racism, yet don’t similarly find the threat of coronavirus to human life quite worrying? People can be horrified by racism and terrified that coronavirus might spread to their loved ones, or their wider community. Let’s not rank who’s the more upstanding citizen by what crisis they feel most aggrieved by.
Yes, it likely would. Racism is just one type of bias. As an African I've seen black on black racism, tribalism, east vs west or North versus South, religious or ideologic persecution, and the list goes on.Thanks, man. I'm just curious that if other non-white race is in-charge of power, they wouldn't do the same (or even worse). What do you think?
Yeah, right. There is no police handbook which permits the police to use the same force against the white man Tony Timpa either. It's nothing more than a bold assumption to say race is the motivation here.
This is good. I'm somewhat torn on it and can fully understand the reservations of those with concerns over spreading the virus. However you can't bottle this outpouring up and preserve it for a future time with sunnier forecasts.I'm not disparaging anyone who doesn't want to go outside due to the pandemic. I'm also not disparaging anyone who feels the need to protest.
I'm reserving comment for those who feel the need to condescend on protesters as if they don't understand the additional risks they are taking on by stepping outside the door.
Exactly, people shouting covid19 when talking about the protests need to understand that for the protestors the cause is worth the risk.I'm not disparaging anyone who doesn't want to go outside due to the pandemic. I'm also not disparaging anyone who feels the need to protest.
