Protests following the killing of George Floyd

I can't believe the video of the old guy being pushed over. I think it's even more concerning that no one acknowledged the guy was seriously injured and went to help straight away despite it being obvious he was out cold and bleeding from the head. The video actually shows one officer being pulled away from helping by a colleague and others looking and simply carrying on.

Is anyone in the UK attending protests today? Seems to be a lot going on.

People on r/conservative defended the cops saying "what's this old man even doing there".

Disgusting creatures...

Read in a Twitter feed he has a lost/misplaced cop helmet in his left hand and was walking to turn it in. Not sure why he was pointing at the one cop's belt area. You can see the helmet in his left hand and to his left leg when he's on the ground. Looks like a riot helmet.

Do they clip their helmets on their belt when they aren't using them? Perhaps he identified someone with a missing helmet.

In any sense you could ask why he was there but ultimately it doesn't matter.

Well over 1000 people in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens right now for a BLM protest. Probably double that.

Corned beef, black pudding, beer and beans. The suspects are british.

'And here are the finds from my mudlarking activities by the Thames...'

You basically arrested a bike repair guy while pretending you stole the plans for the Death Star.

Ermmm not really sure carrying around a hammer, lock knife, lighter fluid, handcuffs and an iron bar can be looked at as okay during a peaceful protest really. Granted there have been some ridiculous posts by the police, like the plastic bottle petrol bomb, I'm not sure this is one.

Can't even go out looking for a bit of kinky sex these days.

I have no problem saying that the guy arrested and found with that "tools" is very probably not a peaceful protester and was rightfully arrested.

But what I have a problem with is, that they practically showed the same photo four times to suggest that this was a widespread problem.
And as somebody mentioned, if they are afraid of a guy with that tools, while they routinely sport military equipment against protesters, what a bunch of cowards.

No wonder they are doing nothing against heavily armed white supremacists. They are probably scared, without going in being sure of their own security and superior weapons.... P*****s

The cuffs are attached to what appears to be some sort of custody room bench.

That tweet is pathetic.

Of course our UK police are all saints with just a few 'bad apples'.

If you searched my backpack a few years ago you may have freaked out, it was basically a toolbox. But then again you would have found me with a BMX, mountain bike or a fixie.

No doubt it's a PR exercise now to try and justify some of the obscene levels of force used and smear legitimate peaceful protesters whilst making the violence look more widespread than it is.

Disagree but fair enough!

I think the tools are okay but the bits I mentioned, like the knife etc, you can't carry around in the UK anyway for obvious reasons. The lighter fuel and other bits would also be a concern under the circumstances.
