Not really. Many white people (in fact more than black people) are killed by the police in the US. Obviously there is racism, and black people are stopped and killed (per capital) more than the other races, but the US police are brutal regardless of the race.

We saw it best in the case of Catalunya when no Western leader condemned the Spanish governments for the police brutality. No fecking way it is gonna happen with the US.

If only it was Iran. Or Lybia.
 
The US spends 100 billion each year to fund the police, and 80 billion for the prison system. That is, 180 billion dollars each year for policing.

Absolute madness! Any solution that does not incorporate a massive defunding of the police is not a real solution.
 
Why do these disgraced cops always look like they failed the audition for the part of Marty in True Detective? Or as if they're white power believers?

They can’t be forced to resign. That unit is probably getting higher pay or some kind of a specialized unit bonus for being in that unit. It’s voluntary so they can give up that position if they choose. Chief can’t do anything about it.
With that said, it was a very very dumb move in a PR sense. They should’ve just apologized and owned up to their mistake, and hold the officer involved accountable, which the department did by suspending them. The unit should just carry on with their job instead of pulling this show of solidarity stunt that does nothing for their citizens’ safety or their department, especially now that they’ve become a meme for brutality.

If the country was not 'The Land of The Free' but a really fecked up dictatorship I would expect the police to realise that the incident was being recorded and at least stop firing tear gas at the car with a pregnant woman in it. Under no circumstances would I expect a right minded human-being to continue firing tear gas into a car that might have a pregnant woman in it.

There is no rational situation that the man telling the police that there is a pregnant women in the car should/would result in further tear gas canisters being shot at the car.

Are there medics alongside the riot police in these situations?

I think as weve seen from multiple videos the polices tactic is to indescrimantly disapate confrontation. Thats the reality.

Interestingly, these All Lives Matters people never mass protest when whites get killed.

America needs a huge wake up call . Guns laws , Terrible Presidents , Police who seem to not know they are there to protect all citizens not just the white folk , Pumping hundreds of Millions into wars and Israel .

That really doesn't seem like that much to me for the policing? England & Wales spend £13.3 billion (17.2 billion dollars) per year on policing which is basically the same per capita as the US, and UK policing has been notoriously underfunded by the Conservative government (in 2010 under Labour we would have been paying more per capita).... I don't really understand the logic of those who think defunding the police is the answer. What exactly is that solving? The US need to reform the police, better training, better vetting, unpopular as it may be - in some areas better salary to attract better candidates.

The US prison system is insane though and massively over budget (which isnt' exactly a surprise given how many people are jailed in the US).
