The forum is turning into rawk. You guys started sulking about everything. X provides good information and the transfer tweets summary is one of the best features here so I dont have to scroll through X.

Well it's certainly getting easier to understand how certain events in history were allowed to happen and actually had public support. Best not to mildly inconvenience people.

what about the nazis though?

That's me done with this site. A clueless gesture by Musk but not actually a Nazi salute and the ideologically bankrupt left leaning people jump on that. Central Europe is in tatters after the left. Just any opinion that isn't left isn't allowed on the aptly named RedCafe. I'm far from far-right, some of these Republican views are ludicrous but these holier than thou left virtue signalers are the worst of the lot. I will now log out for the last time.
You won't be missed, partly because I've got no idea who you are.

since 99% of the Twitter links people post about Transfers turn out to be absolute clickbait nonsense, it should be banned anyway.

But is it really too much to ask a poster to put in some work if he/she thinks it's worthy of a post and is going to put us all through the work of reading it?

Anything posted here is viewed by a large amount of people (depending on topic from a dozen to thousands?), it doesn't need to be effortless to do so.
I understand that point and maybe other platforms can offer a useful mechanism but in reality it may just have a detrimental impact on the amount of information shared in a quick digestable format (maybe you could argue too much is being posted but that's another conversation).

I think some of the aggregators on twitter can lead to misinformation and nonsense information spreading but if done right it saves people sharing links or having to summarise longer articles.

I'm obviously looking at this more from a practical sense.

I'm glad the vote is closer, while I agree with the sentiments around Musk, I think it would be a real loss to the forum if we can't post tweets. 95% of all football traffic flows through X - particularly in relation to transfers.

Is there perhaps a Xenforo addon that can effectively embed them via a screenshot or something, to avoid driving traffic their way?

It's very easy to just take a screenshot of a tweet and post thar, instead of the tweet itself. Won't work for tweets with videos, obviously.

Mussolini provided good roads and Hitler provided good economic growth for Germany too.

That doesn't make people move to BlueSky though, even if it does reduce traffic for X of course.

I don’t know much about blue sky. Is it an echo chamber for wokeness?
It might be considered a safe space for lgbt+ but it's a very open place with good discourse imho.

It's a little left leaning because a well moderated site stops an influx of too many far right types that might resort to misinformation etc

More pro Palestine than X, but also way fewer Nazis so it may even out a bit. But I am sure the basic groups of people are on Blusky, I'm just not exposed to them as much. It's not perfect by any means, though.

Sure the right wing trolls will make their way there eventually

Both right and left resort to misinformation.

What is wokeness?
Well, that is the question, really.

Generally you'd define being "woke" as acknowledging the existence of social inequalities in systems - societal, legal, etc. - that need to be addressed and rectified. Unequal opportunities or laws because of one's gender, sex, age, sexual orientation, race, and so on.

The political right however just basically uses it as an umbrella term for anything they don't like, so if they utter the word it usually can mean anything and nothing. A female protagonist in a computer game, a book acknowledging the existence of LGTB+ in a library, a study about a gender-gap in pay, social assistance programs for the poor, it's all woke.

Both right and left resort to misinformation.
Yes, but the right do it on a far more common basis and use it a distraction tactic. The left might use misinformation, but I think it's fair to say the far right actively use it a weapon.

I think the left use it as a weapon too, and as a lifelong Democrat who voted Kamala, I felt perplexed at some of the things she was fact checked on but ultimately, it’s politics and about shouting the loudest. The left disadvantage is that they care too much about what the right shout, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t peddling false narratives to suit their agenda. I’ll never ever vote republican out of principle, but the far side of both left and right are as dangerous as each other in my honest opinion.

I get what you’re saying but what’s the worst that the far left can really do? Turn everyone vegan?

We’ve got historical proof of what the far right can do when they go too far, however.

In history the far right have rounded up and murdered millions of people. Interested in the far left equivalent?

What would you consider far left then? Most European left parties are left of center or center left, far left parties don't get much traction (keep me honest if I'm wrong here folks)

America doesn't even have that many far left wing politicians, the ones you do have are just left of centre

I did mean it from a misinformation spreading perspective, obviously I am well aware about the difference in ideologies.

Let’s not throw around things like this

Confused at how this is being both-sidesed after the owner of the site in question openly did multiple fascist salutes.
