Premier League Matchweek 5 16th-18th September

Stop worrying about city.

They are very beatable, Navas is meh, Stones can be exploited and they have had a lot of luck so far.

We were one Zlatan touch away from drawing with them and we were very crap.

This is true.
The problem is that while we have potential, ifs and maybes, MCFC are getting actual results on the pitch - maximum points, no draws/losses, etc.
Perhaps I underestimated Pep.

:wenger: Navas? Who's worried about him? Guy never plays. As for your other points, they've still got Kompany coming back and Aguero would have scored at least one goal against us.

City have it all; technical ability, movement, pace, creativity, and they are clinical. You'd never find plodders like Rooney, Mata and Fellaini getting a look in in their team.

I agree that they look a very good team but a bit of an unnecessary jab at Mata (agree about the other two though). Pretty sure Pep would like him even if he wasn't a starter & we have a lot of players that Pep would make good use of.
He's bringing the best out of the players he has, we're certainly not doing that. Navas & Delph have still been involved under him, would either of those get in our squad at the moment?

Stupid Nolito, wtf is with our players getting silly bans.

I meant Bravo :nervous:

But still they can be beat.

But they are coming from a long way ahead then us.

Jose is bringing in a new style and with players shot of confidence.

We need our confidence back and the results will come

100% Fergie should have won more Champion Leagues.

We were very fortunate to win the one in '99, to be fair. Bayern were much better barring the 5 minute bottlejob and some inspired subs. In Moscow, we were one penalty (thank you, Terry) from losing that one; the other's were against an unbeatable Barcelona. In hindsight, we're fortunate we got the two we did, let alone, won the others against Barca.

I remember a few years ago when big Phil Scolari took over at Chelsea and they won their first 10 games or so 4 or 5 nil and the world and his dog were suggesting it was all over by xmas. They didnt win it. Dont panic about city. Theyre very good, but this form wont last forever.

That is true to be fair. The problem though is that this is only considered not good enough because it's Guardiola and people expect ridiculous things for him. What other manager is considered a failure for not winning the CL and not beating top sides away from home convincingly? It's truly a ridiculous standard to judge any manager by. He still managed to massacre City with 10 men in Manchester, slaughtered Arsenal by 5, Beat Roma by 7 and I still think that the first 60/70 mins at the Nou Camp was the only time I've seen a team go toe to toe with Barcelona and not look inferior. Before him, the last six months under Heynckes is the only period where we saw a team that won so convincingly away from home like they did but that was the exception rather than the rule in my view.
Mourinho is called a failure by some for not winning the CL with Madrid.

Also ppl here aren't claiming Guardiola was a failure, rather that it wasn't all magic as ppl claim.
Also that Bayern team already came 2nd in every competition in 2012 then increased their squad quality further and got over the "loser" tag by coming 1st in every competition one year later. Plus half of their team were in the German starting 11 which were making tournament semis and finals for ever and won the world cup in 2014. So while he did a very good (but not amazing) job at Bayern, their players were also top level already before Pep entered the Bundesliga.

Problem is that Bournemouth are a side who will try to attack, which was their undoing last season. Their attack is not good enough to do that, so City's attack will rip them to shreds. That's if you can get the ball off City that is.

I agree with that. But it isn't this one game which I am impressed with.
It's every game that MCFC have played this season. I think they have a 100% win percentage. Only Chelsea (I think) have this.
We, on the other hand, have 2 losses already.
Unlike last season, there is no obvious/quick fix to our problems - we already have a Galactico class manager and also have the most expensive player in the World.

Anyway, fingers crossed that we can win tomorrow.

Send Nolito to the gulag I say

Get Navas playing every week

If it is any consolation Chelsea in the 10/11 season won their first games scoring 21 goals and conceding 1, they ended the season trophyless.....

Eh? All our rivals are winning? Nothing wrong with what I said at all.
Did you expect Bournemouth to get something at City or Burnley at Leicester? Chelsea/Liverpool either side winning wouldn't be good. Hull are probably falling back to earth with a bump and will end up where you would expect. We have to do our job.

In 99 we qualified from a group with Barca (they were Spanish double winners with the world player of the year in their team) and Bayern in it. We beat Inter and an immense Juve (Zidane, Davids & Deschamps) team on the way to the final. We were 100% worthy winners.

Just means Sane gets more game time, which is not the worst thing to happen.

True but I think Silva comes back in on the left wing tbh. Hard to know as Pep likes pace on the wing
