Premier League Matchweek 3 (26-27 August)

Chelsea look pretty strong right now, beating both Everton and Spurs. Reality is if Cahill hadn't been an absolute idiot they would have a full set of points right now.

Just hope their squad, which is weaker than past years struggles a bit once they're playing more than 1 game a week.

No. Just read their forum and see what they think of past games. They have been brutal attacking-wise right from the beginning of this season. They will struggle to score any goals.
Early days though, they have a bad fixture list as well.

I'm at the WBA v Stoke game and it is as scintillating as everyone knew it would be.

The 10 men of City relentlessly dominating 11 men of Everton for an entire half was a pretty good tell for the season. City aren't that good. Everton didn't even have any chances with an extra man.

If I was a supporter I'd be questioning what the feck Koeman was doing behind the scenes.

Everton have looked pretty poor this season. Got dominated by 10 men last Monday and getting done easily today by the sounds of it. Can't understand the optimism there when the only reason they were any good last year for me was Lukaku and Barkley.

Swedish TV apologising during the half-time break for not broadcasting Chelsea-Everton and reiterating it's due to the deal they have

It's going to take a while for the Everton recruits to adapt to their new club, teammates and most important of all Koeman's copy of the 3 at the back system, that every PL manager seems to have adopted this season following Conte's success. I still don't think that the 3-5-2/3-4-3 is that great anyway. It suits Chelsea, their players and their manager knows how it works.

I do have a horrible sense of Fernando Torres flavoured deja vu with Morata.
Nah he is quality just doesn't fit Chelsea side well. Still 2 goal and 2 assists in 3 games is not to bad.

I have no idea why were people praising Everton for their summer business, it's already clear they have poor season ahead of them. They came into a season without proper striker, and they are playing in Europe too.

Watching a stream from Canada. British presenter referring to someone called Fabregarse, whoever he is

Everton seems to have a back 5 and then two defensive midfielders who are terrible at playing the ball forward and Rooney and Sigurdson are very similar players. They have nobody in their team that can beat a man or run in behind. What a chore it is to watch this side.

P.S Holback or whatever has given the ball away every time he has had it. Looks a worse Darmian out there.

I think the money that they have spent has been wasted on quantity rather than quality. Reminds me of Spurs with the Bale money.

Think I forgot Everton had an away Europa game midweek. Chelsea away is not the fixture you want after that. Hope for their sake its a one off half

It's gonna be a long season for Everton fans.

I imagine it's a fair bit easier when you already have hair and haven't been bald since like 20. Although Wayne definitely could do with a better quality surgeon.
I'd imagine it is. Wayne's at times looks worse than if he had just gone completely bald. It makes him look a lot older.

And yet possession is 50/50, which I can scarcely believe. Chelsea still have gears to move up into but Everton have done absolutely nothing.

Chelsea know Everton cant string two passes together, so they are more than content for them to have the ball and faff about with it in midfield, then win one and break quickly.

Can't understate how disjointed Everton have been. Absolutely no idea how to play.
