Premier League Gameweek 5

Crowd look like spectators at an air show after the red arrows are done. BRING BACK THE TERRACES AND FIRMS

Lopetegui won’t last the season.

Playing Alvarez in the back so he can turn AWB into a wingback.

Feels like they do this a lot, have a manager who gets them up the table. Then all of a sudden "It's not enough, we want more". So they change and end up sliding back down the table again to fight relegation.
Yep, they did it with Big Sam. Established PL side, sack him thinking they can do better, panic when a more sexy name has them hurtling towards the championship, ring Moyes to get them out the shit. Rinse and repeat.

I think that's fair enough. Moyes obviously has a ceiling and they spend enough money to have ambitions of being a solid top half team.

Their choice of who to replace Moyes with was hideous however. Proven track record of being a crap manager.

Proper weird team selection.

Todibo looks by far the best CB they have to cover the wide areas in a back three, and he's playing guys that move like narrowboats instead. Alvarez trying to chase down Jackson for that first goal down the channel was just comedy.

It won't matter to epic twitter banter merchants, but he's been bobbins.

Every time he's had the ball, it's been a safe sideways pass or he's lost it. Just so happens that one of those safe, sideways passes was the last touch of the ball before West Ham stood there and watched Jackson run 40 yards and score.

Been living off creaming the farmer's league for a season. If he was coming up now he wouldnt make the current Southampton side. Chelsea daft to off Sterling and sign this chump.

Half of the West Ham players just gave up. Pathetic. Wan Bissaka was still at the opponents 16 when Palmer scored.

Maresca coming and making Chelsea look a very good team in the space of a few games. Hard not to think about Ten Hag and how he's blagging the job.

Very lucky last weekend, WH bad today. United looked quite decent for a few months in EtH's first season. Just offering some perspective

That's true, but my point was that these are mid-table PL signings, nothing more, and their new coach is also mediocre relative to the rest of the managers in the league. And so far they've been even worse than last season.
No fair enough you may well end up right.

I'm no fan of Maresca but based on their CV, ten hag should be doing a hell of a lot better. This guy used to put out the cones for Pep.
