Premier League Gameweek 31

This happening to newcastle is funny. I see they arent wasting time or picking up knocks in this game.

Some of you are honestly insane.

If Newcastle were winning you'd be panicking and saying oh no we'll never catch them now!

Villa are winning and you're now panicking about them being 6 points behind us and ooh if we face them they'll hammer us.

I don't know how some of you enjoy football whatsoever, all you seem to do is worry and moan.
Absolutely this. I don’t know how these people survive day to day with such pessimism.

It must be a bloody miserable life to lead.

No problem. I mistakenly thought people on here understood that there are separate threads for bashing our own players.

I wasn't bashing anyone, just said that Watkins vs Maguire is nightmarish.

I didn't say that Maguire was slow across the grass, slow at releasing the ball, slow in a turn or that he can't play in a high line (IMO).

Spurs and Newcastle play each other next weekend it's important we win tomorrow.
Hard to say but I think I'd lean draw > Newcastle win >>>>> Spurs win. Newcastle will probably get top 4 anyway, but draw gives us better chance at 3rd... Spurs win throws it open and would be huge for Spurs.

Playing home vs away is very different.

If we don’t beat Forest to take advantage, I think we can all agree that we don’t deserve Top 4, any more so than some of the teams below us hoping to pounce

Because Rice is English, and any young English player who gets in the England team is destined for World Class greatness it seems. Realistically, if Rice was any good, he'd have moved to one of the teams he's linked with for the money West Ham want for him.
he's shown loyalty to his boyhood club for as long as possible without the threat of relegation. that's why he hasn't moved, in my opinion - along with west ham routinely refusing to talk about selling him

Great result, Villa look really good at times under Emery.

Newcastle don’t have the easiest set of remaining fixtures.

Surprised with that Newcastle result, I suppose the result would be the other way round if Steven Gerrard was still manager of Villa instead of Unai Emery. Hopefully Brighton and Spurs drop points this afternoon but i don't trust Lampard's Chelsea or Bournemouth to get anything.

Just came home from work, saw the result! Niiice. What happened?
Would be better if we are not having all those injuries. I guess you can't have everything...

Brighton? We don’t need to worry about them other than in the cup.

Emery has worked wonders at Villa. They were really, really impressive. Would love to see them get a European spot

Maybe it's just me, but it's gotten way worse on here recently. When I first started reading the caf (many years ago) it was a good place to get a bit of perspective and optimism after a bad result, but now it's one of the most pessimistic, doom-mongering places on the internet!

90 more minutes to randomly shoehorn Maguire into the thread. I'm not surprised you're excited.

8 days until that Brighton game, actually looking forward to seeing Wan Bissaka vs Mitoma - If they play.

He's such an idiot!
does he play basketball?!

Maybe, but he's in the process of running his contract down so he can leave for free because his current club have priced him out of a move in previous summers. His boyhood club is also Chelsea, not West Ham, him and Mount are best mates and he got released and ended up at West Ham.

West Ham have repeatedly said they'll play ball for north of £100m, which Rice is definitely not worth in any way.

We don't have much of a team right now

Lampard beta-testing random formations for the next manager. Mudryk hat-trick incoming

You would hope so but anything can happen from here. Newcastle play Spurs next also

If Spurs also lose or draw to Newcastle next weekend it's done. No way we are bottling a 4 or 5 point lead with 2 games in hand to this Spurs team, even with our injuries and lack of stability.

We'll win against Forest. Tails are up after the disappointment of Sevilla, everyone will be focused on bouncing back and getting a result in the league to stop the rot.

It's next week we should be worried about, the second string don't have the required mentality to maintain focus week in, week out.

Yeah you would hope the distance between us psyche's them out more than anything, which is totally a Spurs thing.
